Adler is easily one of the best characters in the franchise and i'm more then glad to see him return. He's up there with OG Price, Soap, Ghost, Woods, Mason and Reznov. He's intriguing, badass and cool. Cold War's campaign was actually very solid and made me replay it multiple times. I never thought Treyarch or Activision could come up with such a memorable character after those games. Philip Graves from the rebooted modern warfare games is a close second though.

i love this theory. cold war was my first cod, and since then i have gone back and either completed of watched fully every single cod campaign, and i can confidently say adler is my favorite character. there is just so little we know about him, and he is a really intriguing character, not ever completely knowing his true motives. especially after the canon cold war ending. i’m excited to see what they do with him going forward, and if he rly is good or bad. Remember what happened to Mason as he thought he was Victor Reznov, I believe Adler is going to have the same thing but with “Perseus” as that was never touched upon. In the non canon ending we see “Perseus” the man supposedly to be the leader, but he says “they think I’m Perseus, to think one person can be Perseus is so American.” This makes me believe that the brain washing was to make him a Perseus agent and bring about 9/11 which was said to have been an “inside job” as theorists speculate. Another thing was if Adler didn’t kill Bell or Stitch in those cutscenes then the alphabet boys wouldn’t be too happy and put a hit out on him.
I'm 99% sure that the mole in BO2 was just Hudson. You gotta remember that in the story of BO2 David Mason is with Hudsons family while Alex Mason went back to the CIA, so if Raul wanted to harm Hudsons family he would have but he made those that wronged him directly suffer, David Mason was kidnapped and brought to the same place as Alex Mason, Woods, and Hudson because of their involvement with the CIA but it was Hudson who started it all by burning down the building that had Raul's sister in and then later Woods killer her with a grenade that only happened because Alex Mason interfered, that same mission has a CIA document that makes you re hear Kravchenkos words that Raul has people within the CIA when Hudson tasks you to kill target Nexus. Raul Menendez was playing 4-D chess by doing that because he tried to brainwash David into becoming a martyr for Raul so he could win with his plans of Cordis Die

Hudson was pretty damn tragic too, he served his country for decades only to be captured, forced to betray his friends and then killed in a very brutal way. Menendez didn't even show him any respect after killing him, whilst he showed plenty of respect to Woods after killing him in the bad ending.
Why would BO2 not be canon I don’t get why everyone was thinking that? They never mentioned that in fact they said that Cold War was a direct sequel to BO1 and takes place before BO2. Woods gets shot in Panama(BO2) in 1989. Cold War ends in 1981 and BO6 will presumably start around 1990-91.
Mostly because of the want to make MW and Black Ops canon to each other. The studios decided this for Warzone yet they didn't really consider the timelines they would be stepping on. Honeslty, without Warzone, Cold War would work just fine as a sequel to Black Ops 1
I feel like this Campaign would be pretty similar to BO3 but without the BS like gatekeeping lore and key characters behind a comic. Also no Corvus or the frozen forest. Anyways just like Taylor maybe Alder saw something he wasn’t supposed to. CIA tries to “silence” him so he goes rogue and maybe the guy on the cover art let’s call him “Sally” is assigned to hunt him down. Throughout the campaign he unravels the truth and at the end we have to choice to execute Alder or trust him and go rogue as well.
they may retcon that for the new games or find a way to add Adler to that storyline without contradicting the orginal games like when they had Adler on Rebirth island

I think mason is just wounded. In the opening title screen of bo2 u see mason on the floor presumed dead. But he doesnt have a bullet wound on his head. So he still might be alive in the canon aspect of the story
with the confirmation that woods is in a wheelchair, this is all leading me to believe that the supposed black ops 2 "remake" that was leaked is actually a reboot that will make 2025 look more like how it does now, further establishing the black ops story into the current modern warfare reboot's story.
Something I’ve come to note is that Adler is willing to do some downright evil things for what he seems to be the greater good. Him betraying others is not a new thing at all. He betrayed Bell at the end of BOCW. Another interesting thing was him betraying Ghost and the UAC in CoD Mobile with the goal of committing a false flag attack (basically a country attacking itself while pretending to be another country to have an excuse to go to war) against the US by using the Five Knights to goose step the US into a war with Soviet remnants (Perseus) by not only using the Five Knights for many acts of terrorism using monetary assets stolen from the CIA by Hudson (who was another mole for Menendez in BO2). He dropped a nuke on Blackout Island and killed 30,000 people in that storyline. While Mobile isn’t canon, it gives us an idea as to how Adler acts. He isn’t above doing some downright horrible thing like, for example, a certain attack on certain towers back in 2001. Maybe Perseus has men in Iraq and Adler needs the US to go to war with Iraq so he can complete his mission. God knows false flag attacks aren’t beneath him apparently if it’s for the “greater good”.
I think Adler was Menendez's mole, because it wasn't just Mason that Menendez captured but also Jason Hudson. Adler for whatever reasons joined Menendez and he's the one that betrayed Woods, Alex and Hudson

i think BO 2025 is going to be a retelling of bo2 to fit more in with current canon. Adler will have a role in the flashback missions and then end with menendez and makarov teaming up somehow. in the current mw games we don’t really have a solid 4 horseman yet

Hudson was pretty damn tragic too, he served his country for decades only to be captured, forced to betray his friends and then killed in a very brutal way. Menendez didn't even show him any respect after killing him, whilst he showed plenty of respect to Woods after killing him in the bad ending.

Why would BO2 not be canon I don’t get why everyone was thinking that? They never mentioned that in fact they said that Cold War was a direct sequel to BO1 and takes place before BO2. Woods gets shot in Panama(BO2) in 1989. Cold War ends in 1981 and BO6 will presumably start around 1990-91.

I feel like this Campaign would be pretty similar to BO3 but without the BS like gatekeeping lore and key characters behind a comic. Also no Corvus or the frozen forest.
Anyways just like Taylor maybe Alder saw something he wasn’t supposed to. CIA tries to “silence” him so he goes rogue and maybe the guy on the cover art let’s call him “Sally” is assigned to hunt him down. Throughout the campaign he unravels the truth and at the end we have to choice to execute Alder or trust him and go rogue as well.
Instead of comics, they gatekeep things into Warzone

I think mason is just wounded. In the opening title screen of bo2 u see mason on the floor presumed dead. But he doesnt have a bullet wound on his head. So he still might be alive in the canon aspect of the story
with the confirmation that woods is in a wheelchair, this is all leading me to believe that the supposed black ops 2 "remake" that was leaked is actually a reboot that will make 2025 look more like how it does now, further establishing the black ops story into the current modern warfare reboot's story.
Something I’ve come to note is that Adler is willing to do some downright evil things for what he seems to be the greater good. Him betraying others is not a new thing at all. He betrayed Bell at the end of BOCW. Another interesting thing was him betraying Ghost and the UAC in CoD Mobile with the goal of committing a false flag attack (basically a country attacking itself while pretending to be another country to have an excuse to go to war) against the US by using the Five Knights to goose step the US into a war with Soviet remnants (Perseus) by not only using the Five Knights for many acts of terrorism using monetary assets stolen from the CIA by Hudson (who was another mole for Menendez in BO2). He dropped a nuke on Blackout Island and killed 30,000 people in that storyline. While Mobile isn’t canon, it gives us an idea as to how Adler acts. He isn’t above doing some downright horrible thing like, for example, a certain attack on certain towers back in 2001. Maybe Perseus has men in Iraq and Adler needs the US to go to war with Iraq so he can complete his mission. God knows false flag attacks aren’t beneath him apparently if it’s for the “greater good”.

I’m hoping that if it isn’t so cut and dry - and that potentially Adler is being framed or set up by the CIA - that they don’t portray woods is incredibly naive to the idea.
