It has hyper armor on the charge portion of the attack, up to a point. Also quick assist is king in that scenario as it speeds up the charge, also her tag in counter does the charge as well - so it's a really easy way to get ice charges.

I never seen other guide that touch this deep into character combo/rotation. those are only thing I've been looking for so long on youtube. like, I know how character works, what weapon/gear good on them. but I'm not good at thinking how to optimize their combo rotation to squeeze more damage so most of the time I just do basic combo like everyone else. this guide really help me a lot to learn and understand more about it.
I was lucky and got C1 Ellen so I get 3 from the normal dash attack and 6 on charge. It feels so good. But beyond that I'm lost, thanks for making this video.

This guides presentations and format is fantastic. My one request for the future of these is that when going over the disk drives maybe give recommendation on which sub stats you should be focusing. Something like Atk% crit% and cDmg. Also at which point would you shift focus from crit rate to focusing heavily into crit damage. I assume it’s around the 50-75% range? I got lucky enough to get My Ellen to M1 and her sig weapon after getting her early twice, and that burst rotation sounds fun because as it stands now, mine overcaps on crit rate at full stacks with a Crit DMG piece on her 4 slot, running 4-piece polar, 2-woodpecker. I got Lycaon from losing Zhu Yuan, but it put my main team on another level. Lycaon's ICE RES shred, with all of the buffs from an M6 R5 Soukaku going to my Ellen is so satisfying! I've never had this fun of a comp so early in a hoyo game.
Yo my man, i would like to ask for a guide surrounding how to built and utilize stun unit. Like, since we can't impact as a sub-stat, do we built them like a Sub DPS with crit or we just built them with energy and tanky so they can stun faster and take some hits if you mess up. I genuinely want some guidance towards these kinda of unit
I think ellen is best when she's at c1. Giver her extra ice stacks so if Charge and Hold charge gives 1&3 stacks, C1 makes it 3&6, better than her weap for those who are struggling to get max stacks.
Btw a good way to trigger her quick charge attack is with soukaku when she slams her flag down with her skill u can swap to Ellen which puts her in the state where she does the quick charged attack
Her Cinema 2 really does make her feel 1000x better. Being able to get 3 charges from a single dash attack, Basic 3 into EX Special 2 straight back into Basic 3 is so damn good.
Im f2p and have Ellen m0/r1, Lycaon m0/Steam oven r4, Soukaku m6/r3 (bashful demon) and yeah as a F2P i can confirm the team destroys. I also have an Anton m6/r5, Grace m1, Anby m4 team.
I got incredibly lucky with the gacha but im glad your f2p works because my team takes all the challenge out of the game, enemy is either constantly stunned or chain attacked.
Been watching for a while and this is a very well made guide. I like that you know your audience does not follow all the fighting jargon. I do hope in a few months all the moves have a more concrete labeling.
I've actually been seeing a lot of end-game speedrunners replace soukaku for rina. I think soukaku being on-field so much for the later difficulty starts to become a dps loss/liability.

Personally, I put Nicole as secondary support just for Def shred and I just built her, going Flash freeze build up > Def shred, Soukaku, then Ellen for bosses

Maybe this is a stupid question, but which Bangboo would you recommend? I have both the Butler and the Sharkboo, and can field either effectively, but don't know which is better.
I like shark more than Butler cause the team doesn’t really suffer from energy like that, but I know some of my friends really value Butlerboo more. DMG wise, it’s Sharkboo.
You mention the burst rotation to be Ex 1 + Ex 2 but I think Using Ex 1 three times is better since you can immediately jump into her 3rd basic string after using Ex 1 which has an insanley high multiplier. You even show this at 9:30 when talking about her M2 but I think it's worth even at M0.
Didnt even know there’s a fast snip when you dodge thanks iyo, i was too used to practicing combos with a no move enemy like when i practice in tekken Also for players that have rina paired with elen, for people that don’t know rina’s pen is already applied to the team as soon as releasing her skill, most of the time you use her ex skill and that skill has a decent long animation and the dolls stay around 6 second + 2 second window from ex animation so you got an 8 sec damage window, this also applies in the chain attacks so having rina then elen last makes sense

Another thing to point out, combat Atk% buffs are WAAAAY stronger than flat atk% buffs because it increases the whole Atk value you start with, not just the base atk of the character.
Actually, there is a break point for that and it depend on your build. Slot 4 pen is make Flat ATK buff better. 4 star or Abnormal have low ATK base and have to build other state than crit flat ATK buff is also better.
What has more value for Ellen? Her C1 or Lycano? Currently using Anby and Soukaku but I feel like having a Lycaon would just be a massive benefit to her and my account.
Both? Kinda? Lycaon is her best partner so you want him for sure and could do without M1, but M1 is just sauce. I’d say Lycaon if I had to give a definite tho.

support in this team can be literally anyone, ok so nicole's chain rotation is10x faster than sokaku's that also groups trash enemies, very likely to fit into other teams in the future with a universal def shred, and if it wasn't enough already, has a bit of secret but intentional fun stuff to discover in the lab for some unknown reason
Thank you for this. I've been waiting for guide that talk about combos/rotation and fighting tips. I have C4 Soukaku, but not liking her. Eventually i'll replace her w/ Rina. Soukaku Assist eating the Daze meter is very annoying. Do you have any recommendation for that? Since you're one of the bigger CC, can we use C1 instead of M1? It says 0/6 Cinema on the bottom left of the character screen. I know Mindscape has less Syllable to says than Cinema, but i think majority prefer C over M by scanning the comments of this video.

Set bonuses are definitely more important, but not if the stats are just bad. That being said, you shouldn’t have to stress building anyone for now. Going through the proxy levels, you can safely build out your Ellen (or anyone) before hitting a wall.
I had to rewatch that part like 10 times in order to get it… I wish he’d explained it slower or something since it’s the only advanced trick I didn’t know
The combo is on screen and I play it twice. I even say exactly what you need to do. I can slow it down, but it’s easier if you guys are actually descriptive when you want me to make a change or help you understand something. Instead of being condescending (or at least it looks like that through text).
@@IyoXS Most of the players here are probably unfamilliar with combo videos so to improve that for "normal" people you could show the combo at normal speed and then slowed down one. Plus you need to have a disclaimer for those icons on combo inputs because 100% some people will get lost even though you explain it on screen.
Good shit homie. Don’t forget you can switch out of her NA3, too. Appreciate the tip on switching out of CA. Better to bring out the stun and support first before going into those NA combos and you can facilitate that way faster by switching out of it.

You can always dash cancel out of it if you need to. You can also parry with an assist mid-animation

Switch during long attack animations, you can have 3 chars doing dmg at the same time

Big tip is to switch in using a support char like Nicole, you can hold switch attack for stack

What has more value for Ellen? Her C1 or Lycano? Currently using Anby and Soukaku but I feel like having a Lycaon would just be a massive benefit to her and my account.

Both? Kinda? Lycaon is her best partner so you want him for sure and could do without M1, but M1 is just sauce. I’d say Lycaon if I had to give a definite tho.
@@IyoXS I see and I lean more to that but the problem is patience 😅. I can have c1 Ellen now guaranteed maybe even c2 if I win 50/50 but who knows when I'll have Lycaon. As it stands, I think I'll hold off and get Zhu Yuan with her w-engine and hope I get Lycano at some point. Thanks for the reply
support in this team can be literally anyone, ok so nicole's chain rotation is10x faster than sokaku's that also groups trash enemies, very likely to fit into other teams in the future with a universal def shred, and if it wasn't enough already, has a bit of secret but intentional fun stuff to discover in the lab for some unknown reason

Thank you for this. I've been waiting for guide that talk about combos/rotation and fighting tips. I have C4 Soukaku, but not liking her. Eventually i'll replace her w/ Rina. Soukaku Assist eating the Daze meter is very annoying. Do you have any recommendation for that? Since you're one of the bigger CC, can we use C1 instead of M1? It says 0/6 Cinema on the bottom left of the character screen. I know Mindscape has less Syllable to says than Cinema, but i think majority prefer C over M by scanning the comments of this video.

Any advice for someone who is a little overwhelmed here? Im getting so much info thrown at me so fast I feel like I don't retain any of it. I wanna play Ellen well but Im not really a fighting game guy and this is all so confusing haha. Who would have thought something so seemingly simple is actually so complicated? Lol

@IyoXS fantastic guide, can't wait to see more of them - question, is this like HSR where rainbow drives would be acceptable for primary stats, or are the set bonuses more important here in Z3?
Set bonuses are definitely more important, but not if the stats are just bad. That being said, you shouldn’t have to stress building anyone for now. Going through the proxy levels, you can safely build out your Ellen (or anyone) before hitting a wall.

I had to rewatch that part like 10 times in order to get it… I wish he’d explained it slower or something since it’s the only advanced trick I didn’t know
The combo is on screen and I play it twice. I even say exactly what you need to do. I can slow it down, but it’s easier if you guys are actually descriptive when you want me to make a change or help you understand something. Instead of being condescending (or at least it looks like that through text).
@@IyoXS Most of the players here are probably unfamilliar with combo videos so to improve that for "normal" people you could show the combo at normal speed and then slowed down one. Plus you need to have a disclaimer for those icons on combo inputs because 100% some people will get lost even though you explain it on screen.

Good shit homie. Don’t forget you can switch out of her NA3, too. Appreciate the tip on switching out of CA. Better to bring out the stun and support first before going into those NA combos and you can facilitate that way faster by switching out of it.
