A Look At Ryanair’s Crazy 200 Seat Boeing 737

- Ryanair is currently hoping that it will receive its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in early 2021. The airline has firm orders for 135 MAX 200 aircraft, with a further order for the larger Boeing 737 MAX 10 potentially on the cards.
However, the aircraft ordered by the Irish low-cost carrier is slightly different from your standard Boeing 737 MAX 8. In fact, the aircraft will require its own certification after the Boeing 737 MAX has been recertified. Let’s find out more.

General public: complains about Ryanair
General Public: take my money
True. What people say they want and what they are actually willing to pay for are frequently two different things. American Airlines increased seat pitch in Coach/Economy in the early 2000s, but they didn't see an increase in ridership, so they went back to the norm.
@@JBM425 I only once flew with Ryanair (and unfortunately it was a 4 hours flight). Subhuman conditions. All the subsequent trips I made to the same destination I preferred to use a stopover and decent arilines rather than the non-stop Ryan flight.
People will tolerate a lot for a bargain but Ryanair keep shooting themselves in the foot. I have flown with them since the 2018 baggage fiasco but can no longer trust them so the "bargain" has gone. Ordering the MAX might be the final nail in their coffin.

We got off the ground (LAX) in no time & were in Phoenix (PHX) about 7 to 8 minutes ahead of time.👍
I have long legs and have enough trouble with 30in seat pitch. Ryanair 737 MAX with 28in. Three good reasons NOT to fly with them!
I'm tall too, they are fine for short flights.
When I was travelling around Europe last year I didn't realise how tight their seat pitch is, now according to this video it's 30". It was unbearable since I am 180cm tall and I couldn't even move my knee, the whole ride was so uncomfortable and the thin seat back was not helping. After that flight, I upgraded the rest of my flights to the emergency exit row for extra leg room which is wayyyyyy better but the seat back is still an issue for me. If the flight is under an hour it's probably bearable and I'll put up with it
Boeing: 737-8 = comfy 175 seats.
Ryanair: Hold 'me' Guinness.
One side effect of a 28” seat pinch configuration is that you can no longer breath, which is a great deal for Ryanair, as they will soon be charging for the oxygen contained in the air that you would normally inhale gratuitously !
Don't be so pessimistic. They'll only charge if the emergency masks drop.

Yet another reason, NOT to fly with Ryanair. Yes I know, if you book with Ryanair most people know what they are getting but I think they're will be quite a few disgruntled passengers if Ryanair do not mention this in the booking conditions. I as a short 5 foot , 7 inch tall person would probably be OK in these seats but anyone taller than myself is going to be seriously uncomfortable, and that is before anyone starts talking about any medical, or weight isues with passengers.
I would be interested to see how the evacuation process is going to work. Maybe Ryanair is to go back to the old-fashioned idea of weighting passengers before they enter the aircraft. And if Michael & Ryanair introduce this idea, sorry to everyone for mentioning it, in jest.
I'm 197cm... I already don't fit in their regular seats

lion air does 189 seats in 737-800 & 213 seats in 737-900. i think max 8 is longer than 737-800 (cmiiw). so i think for short haul flight it's doesn't really matter

Why it’s it called a MAX-8 when it clearly had the fuselage and capacity of a MAX-9?

Its literally a Max-9 crammed in to the fuselage of a Max-8. Just with 2 extra emergency doors
it is shorter in cabin length than a 9.
The point is well taken. If you can hold it for 30 minutes then the seating density can work. Besides, asking permission for a bio-break is a bit much.
It's a bit counterintuitive isn't it when you want to stuff more passengers onboard, you need to add a pair of additional doors for emergency which actually decrease the number of seat rows.
