@@nightmarej17 I don't really care if I can or not as long as the vocals are good. Just something I was pointing out about his particular technique. It takes skill to utilize that vocal style and still be comprehensible. Mikael Akerfeldt, Tomi Joutsen and Chrigel Glanzmann also have that talent.

I've been to their concerts. This video is an exact representation of them, haha. I highly recommend seeing them live, you will not regret it.
I remember when I was watching "Death in Fire" live, idk what year exactly, but there was viking's warship on the stage, and I was like: "fuck, I'd like to be there, in the crowd, with the horn of some drink, and headbang". \m/ (>_
I went to a live show in Utah and they played this in the tiniest venue in the state. The venue didn't allow pits but it happened anyway during this song. Absolutely insane pit too. I saw a guy get punched in the jaw and I took an elbow to the head. Shit was wild.
Did it last year in Amsterdam. Best evening of my life. I'm going again next month.

For anyone that is interested, this song is about Surtr, otherwise known as Surtur or Surt, the bringer of doom at Ragnarok, the end of the world in Norse mythology. He will engulf the world in flames, release the oceans and flood the earth, fight with Freyr, destroy almost all gods, and will finally die, drowned in his own flood, paving the way for "A New World".

Going to see them on 15th. Lucky you've seen them so many times, only going to be 2nd time. Can you believe I paid 80 bucks for pit tickets for Mayhem. Turns out they only got 35 minute set -_- five finger death punch and all others got an hour. On bright side got to meet them because they were signing merch in their booth!

It is easy to phrase some scales like that on a guitar even if you don't know what you are doing. You just play the notes at 2 strings , having a pedal tone in the lower string and alternating the notes on the higher one.

I would suggest "Fate of Norns." It's a bit different than their other stuff but its really good.
Really the entire album "Fate of Norns" is fantastic. That and "Versus The World" would be my recommendations.
Asator from Twilight of the Thunder God is similar to those two. Different band, but you might also like some of the stuff Heidevolk did, like Dondergod.
"Twilight of the thundergod" or "Shape shifter" are both good songs

As far as this song, yeah its more of a death metal vibe, and a lot of their stuff is melodic death metal, however some of their stuff is more Viking metal, like deceiver of the gods has a pretty strong Viking feel
