It actually sounds like a male. You can't the hear the warp from the pitch shift at all.

I'm still a bit confused. Is this him singing? or is it just the original song with the pitch shifted? This is because I first though that it was supposed to be that he sang the song and then shifted his voice up to the original pitch.

For those who are complaining about changing the lyrics from "queen" to "king" and "girl" to "boy" or "guy".... Please learn to READ. This is the song directly from the movie in a lower pitch. This is NOT a cover. =_=

Ok, I get SO annoyed by people who keep saying: "Oh, you should've changed 'Queen' to 'King' and 'Girl' to 'Boy'!" in the comments. So sit down and let me give y'all the downlow.
Firstly: this is literally (and quite obviously) Idina Menzel's voice with the pitched lowered. You can't change the lyrics in the first place because of this.
Secondly: the song was WRITTEN with female pronouns. I guarantee you, whenever people do covers of songs and change the pronouns, it sounds very strange and out-of-place. If you're a guy and want to sing this song, go right ahead with yo bad self. Just don't change the pronouns to fit your own gender; that's called self-insertion, my dear friends, and it is frowned upon in most fandoms. Including the music fandom ;)

HoplooWare i think this is Audacity- it's a pretty common software for this kind of thing.
I think you got the pitch perfect! Usually, whenever someone would switch the pitch, it would sound like a very deep-voiced woman, but you got it just right! Not to high-pitched, not too low.
Don't worry, I read the description and I didn't think this was you singing! With that out of the way:
*OH. MY. GOD.*
Logically, I know you did a lot of work to make it sound good, and it shows. Emotionally, I was REALLY taken aback by the first few lines. This is going on my iPod because it sounds like a flesh-and-blood man singing, and I just LOVE the strength and weight in "his" voice. With a lot of pop/mainstream tenors, I could break their voices with a good push because most of them restrict themselves to songs that sound pretty, but don't take too much breath or power.
Thanks to this guy being Gender-Bent Idina, we have a badass tenor who can belt shit out like nobody's business AND make us cry. This "cover" is as vulnerable and powerful as the original version, and it is ridiculously sexy.

qaz123123123123 Ikr. Idina's singing style is very different than other peoples' singing styles. Like not much of a difference. But like, how do i explain this? You can TELL if it's her voice or not. Like the pitch or the way she sings "Here I stand and here I stay" and you can just tell it's her singing it, even if u change the pitch. Srry yeah i'm like a year late but my friend showed me dis video....lol

At first it was difficult to make Idna's pitches as she is soprano and I sing alto, so singing the male version is alot easier and less harmful for my throat.
I always thought she was an alto, or at least a mezzo. Well, if it's easier for you to sing this way, power to you.

I actually really love this! With singing girl/queen i just think of him singing it TO a girl, about "them". Or even he's singing about her life. "be the good girl you always have to be" could easily be manipulated of him saying it to a girl. Don't think of what it looks like in the movie, but the lyrics themselves.

I was about to compliment you on your perfect embellishments as they sounded EXACTLY like Idina Menzel's... then I read "pitch shift" part and felt like an idiot.
Although you did a great job with the shift, you got me excited over nothing as I thought I had found a hidden superstar on youtube XD.

Beautiful. When I first saw this, before I saw the title, I legitimately thought it was a man singing. Most of these songs, especially The First Time in Forever, and with the exception of Defying Gravity, these sound like a man is singing them.
