Faux locs have come a long way. I remember in 2016 people were getting box braids (not knotless braids BOX BRAIDS) and wrapping their hair with Marley hair to give the illusion of locs. Rip to everyones edges due to traction alopecia that summer.

Another great way to add on human hair ends is to crochet the human hair through the loc then wrap over it. It will last long longer! Great video! I’m a faux loc artist in STL❤️🥰 love all your videos btw!

This is beautiful, you gotta try wrap & lock hair . It’s basically locs with a long piece of hair left out to wrap around your natural hair so you won’t have to buy Marley hair or spring twist to wrap . But if your hair is 8 inches or longer you would still need at least 2 packs of wrap hair . It’s a great method for short hair

Hair looks great but I get what you mean by the heaviness. I did to many when I first did it and it was long like yours. If you spray hair with water and conditioner in it that helps with keeping it separate and fresh.

Shorter would definitely be easier to maintain. Also prepping the hair...like doing the ends and adding hair to the dread prior to install. Beautiful job as always😊

I’m doing this exact style and using your methods except I did the ends and added the hair along the loc before installing. I’m don’t with all of the prep work now I’m about to install the locks. I’m anticipating that it’ll only take about 2 hours to install now. I’ll be back with an update ❤
It definitely doesn't look too full! I think it looks perfect. I actually hate when I see locs and they are thin or have huge parts and small locs.

I currently have faux locs, I got them Aug 15th, I redid the front 2wks after to refresh and I'm still in love but after a while the weight gets to you no matter you have them up or down.

Love them! I did mine hand wrapping not with the premade loc and it took me 2 weeks😮 I kept stopping tho next time I do them I’m gonna premake them and I also used alot of virgin hair throughout all my Loc’s and I had 50… i mixed deep wave and loose wave virgin hair throughout all my locs and ends they were bomb I didn’t want to take them out lol

Nothing about this style was a fail. I like them on you and you got better patience then me for a style like this.
They are 😍. Just took these down after a week. My hair is relaxed and my scalp became sore and irritated. Should have cleaned the locs prior too.

I have 53 Freetress distressed locs and LOVE how natural they look but I HATE the way they feel. People lie like mf about the hair texture.
This synthetic hair is rough af. 😩I love the style but I gotta find some softer hair. I’ve been looking for human. I’ll take ANY suggestions yall! I’m taking then down and redoing them as soon as I get the chance
If I had done them like this I would feel the exact same way. They look gooooood don’t worry. Just next time don’t make them all the same length, layer them. The ones in the front should be the shortest and just mix up the length in the middle and keep the very back longest. That will reduce the bulkiness significantly and make them look less like a wig and more like natural locs. Also don’t add the curly human hair pieces to the ones in the very back and that will reduce the volume significantly. Hope this helps someone 💞.
