Nick, you are awesome and this is an excellent video. Take care until we meet again.
I miss everyone in this video!
Reunion in Portlandia??
Hey look its one of my other favorite guitarist.
I'm loving this album. It's incredible how it's guitar music that somehow transcends guitar. It feels like the guitar is not the prominent instrument, it's just a part of a bigger machinery and just happens to be a voice for the melody, instead of being the focus of the album.
WOW. That _IS_ it, isn't it? Great description!
I'd also suggest it's music that is both virtually orchestral and cinematographic in its overall scope and presentation. Honestly, I enjoy the compositions and arrangements as much as the playing. Inspirational! (I find his newest album, 'Wide Eyes In The Dark', to be a further extension of all this. IMO.)
I'm also _somewhat_ reminded of Shawn Lane's 'Power of Ten' in those regards, but I think Nick's music is more immediately melodic and, um... remarkably human.
"And the tone- Oh my God I can't wait to show people"- that's what I think every time I listen to this album- the tone is just soooo good. It's weird- I can't believe this was 2 years ago now- it all still sounds so fresh and new to me.
10:38 OH MY GOD THE TONE indeed .. literally one of the best tones I've heard so far !!
Nick, I'd be hard pressed to pick your best album. They're all different, but they're all amazing as well. Edit* I really thought the Piano did bring some drama into the music and it was well received on my end.
I'm definitely along for the ride. Most exciting guitarist in the world right now. Nice guy too.
Organic music u can ever heard these days.. its not about fast playing or any sort of things.. its just music.. thank you nick..
When you said you finally feel like your becoming the musician you've been trying to be. Wow man. That's awesome. I feel like I'm always chasing that. Stoked for you.
So freaking talented!!!! His phrasing is top notch and his notes choices are so unexpectedly perfect!
Listening 2 the track "Remarkably human" 50 times a day.. Amazing melody..
Man, I just discovered this record last night and am completely blown away. Unreal stuff. Hope to see you live some day.
This is so good Nick!
Extreme talent, yet so humble. Love you man.
man I think it's one of the best album I've ever heard. I bought it and listened it many many times. I really love it.
I'm so happy I found this and Nick as an artist.
Coming here after hearing the Young Language single. Nick's evolution as a musician is just incredible. Not a bad song in his life, but everything just gets more and more incredible.
Easily one of the best guitar/instrumental albums I’ve ever heard!! It’s so good from compositions to tone and melodies, and I love the use of piano!!
Whoa... I really dig this... you should get more recognition!
Awesome album. I love the arc from beginning to end; the wrenching moments of rich darkness that burst into life as melody, harmony and drums converge; the sheets of fluid scintillation that bend and fold into crystalline form and then shapeshift into reams of light. Just spectacular! Can't wait for what's next!
this is awesome. thx for sharing the behind the scenes, making of video
"I don't know how people are going to take this"... I heard this album, and you, for the first time when this came out 3 years ago. It's still among my top 5 albums of all time. Such tasteful shredding and it really does take you on a journey from beginning to end. A beautiful, frightening, and wondrous journey! I look forward to more music from you Nick!
Man, I LOVE your music! I just wish I knew sooner about you.
What a gnarly Masterpiece of a record !!
I'm pretty sure all the fanbase is more than satisfied..Thank you for the great music Nick !

You did attract a new fan base. This is the first album I've heard of yours. I can't even listen to it any other way than from start to finish. Amazing!!
This will live long! Amazing
Nick, you are a gifted soul. Thanks for sharing your passion.
Good job there Nick, you've attracted me as your listener with Remarkably Human, I wish you move in this melodical direction more.
Great album , great work ... thank you Nick !!!!
This album is an excellent accomplishment. It's great to see how it came together. It makes me want to get into my studio and write!
beautiful album
Officially my favorite album now. The more I listen the more I love it. I throw on the vinyl, close my eyes, and take it all in. Thanks!
This is one of the best instrumental albums, what a feeling, it reminds me when I heard the Satriani's the extremist, it amazed me too much, Keep going Nick
Nick, I respect you as you do on your team.
A masterpiece in itself. This record is a MUST HAVE!!!
Amazing job, Thanks to all the people involved in the making ;)
i wouldn't insult him by calling him a shredder, he is next level... more of a, master musician and composer or something (who can shred) then, there are, the chord changes, usually, only found in film music, the tones, the other worldly blues licks.. it just keeps giving!
Thank you :)
so amazing, unique and chill !!!
I cannot WAIT to see you here in Phoenix in August!!!
nice work dude! full support, bought it! : D
I've listened to this album maybe 20 times already since its release. I will definitely be following your future works, Nick! I love how otherworldly this album feels, and the piano definitely lends an ethereal vibe to the overall project. Great call on that one.
I was so pumped when I saw this video was now available, right when I'm working on my own debut album in my own home studio. It's definitely the inspiration I need for those days when everything seems to be nothing more than garbage. Keep this great content (vids and music) coming for us, will ya? Can't wait to see some music vids of my two favorite songs from this record: Impossible Things and Poison Touch!
New subscriber, new listener, we found you a couple of months ago and we’ve been listening to your catalog almost non stop at the shop ever since! Keep up the good work man! Looking forward to the next step!
I thought that sounded a lot like Gavins playing, my favorite drummer too. So awesome!
7:31 "Garbage!"
Yeah, guys...that's what we were all thinking, right?
Swear...
I was like wtf is he talking about ?! xD
amazing composition. i love it.
So awesome. Everything you do has such a level of class to it that is unmatched.
This is one of my fav videos ever
Humble, no tattos, non rockstar-pose, very smart and extremely talented guitarist. This is the way.
Thank you Nick Johnston for brings us your music, God bless you like you bless our ears.
Dunno what no tattoos has to do with anything but he has many now haha
really like this material
Nick, It would be a dream to see you play live, hear is an inspiration. I've spent years playing guitar and always listen motivates me to follow. Greetings from Argentina and sorry for my bad English haha :).
what a masterpiece
I love the "Makings of.." Its really great to see the artists involvement in the process of their art from beginning to end. I have a special affiliation with this album because when I listen to the music it reminds me of my Main Coon cat called Gandalf that passed away a couple of years ago. It makes me sad but also reminds me of the crazy things he did. Also I have a signed copy of this album and of course the music is all so spot on. It could be the soundtrack to someone's life. Maybe it is, but it is special to me and I own a lot of guitar orientated albums.
The instrumentals on this are pretty tight. Keep up the heavy work!
NIck Johnston a complete legend
This is so awesome
Love these kind of videos. Great job Nick, the record is great!
Dude this is CRAZY!!!
I'm an amateur guitarist even though I'm not much younger than you.
I love your music. It's stuck in my head for a couple of months now especially this album.
Please make an album with the improvisations that are not on the album - they are equally entertaining, imo it's not garbage as you regard it in this video.. Jason Becker did it and the listeners will always appreciate it.
Thank you and keep on delivering
I love you Nick!
YUP This is so smooth
WHY DO I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
The piano in Ignore Alien Orders is incredible.
A remarkably great album :)
love this song
nice one good luck for your music
nick is remarkable genius:)
*Shreds like mad, it sounds sick* "Garbage!"
Gavin Harrison is awesome! I wish Nick would have worked with him on his new stuff too. the last two albums he made has a different drummer, and it's honestly not as good in my opinion. but still great music, but would be even better if Gavin was still playing drums for Nick.
Excellent video though, this album is legendary and a masterpiece of composition and musicianship!
waiting for your concerts
crazy track! cool vibe
Thanks Nick
