I'm a plumber/heating engineer. I work, I bend and bow in all sorts of directions, with sometimes remarable weight. Warm up before you play this. I tore the ligament connecting my bycep to my foerarm... playing pretend bongos.
the sheer hype this game inspires in me...i can't play for long because i'm pretty out of shape but i give it my all every time lol. found a lot of dope music through the default playlist too-- electric callboy might be one of my favorite bands now tbh
Yes ! I thought it was just a simple rhythm game but when I read the reviews in PICO saying it was a good workout I downloaded it. It rocks! (literally...and figuratively speaking) xD I needed extra exercise to burn my daily calories and with Ragnarock I surpassed it. One of the things I enjoyed the most was multiplayer. You can say hello to the drummer in the boat next to you haha! Great game.
This game is awesome….definitely my go to, and would probably be the one game I’d keep on my Quest if forced to only keep one. I love that you can race a “ghost” of yourself to see your progress if you don’t want multiplayer. The soundtrack is fun….how else can you describe “Valhalleluja” or “Redneck Vikings From Hell”? Also, don’t forget to mention the ability to download custom songs if you want to tailor the experience to something a little more mainstream….I’ve got some classic rock, metal, grunge etc. that are all mapped pretty well. I’m glad you’re promoting this game!
I think the best part is that for being able to use custom songs, you don't even have to do anything except download the songs and put them in a correct folder. With lot of other games with custom songs, you first need to install mods etc
I just got into VR, had my headset for a week and glad this showed up on my radar & saw this video. Pretty much convinced me to buy it, not that I needed much convincing because I'm a big metal head, I go to metal festivals (never been to Hellfest though, but Wacken instead) and I've seen many of these bands live. I also love Vikings and I need to get fit (hence I subbed) and I just done maybe about 30 minutes with this and it's a good exercise (especially for an unfit bastard like me) and a lot more fun than it looks. You really get into the songs and try to keep to the rhythm, though my rhythm sucks, but hey, I'm still following along to the movements and maybe it's something that'll improve & will need when I get Metal: Hellsinger VR. It's got me to 10 strain on Whoop and I need to push to 16 for my recommended strain for today due to my high recovery score, so maybe another half hour'll do me. It's maybe not as intense as other methods of working out, but fitness where you don't feel like you're doing fitness and you're just having fun, that to me is the ideal. Many methods of fitness bore me, and my ADHD brain struggles to stick at anything that doesn't give me a dopamine fix lol I also been playing with X-Fitness/X-Booster and that's a lot of fun too, especially as it can build sessions out of your own music library, but some of the built-in music tracks are pretty good to be fair and well suited to the exercise.
I love ragnarock. I have been playing since the start of early access on steam. I think the music selection is better than beat saber. I have put more hours in ragnarock than any other rhythm game.
Funny enough i tried to go back to beatsaber after playing this for quite some time and i honestly found it super dull. Thanks Ragnarock for ruining beatsaber for me!
I needed a break from Beat Saber and Smash Drums for a while so I gave this game a try. This game is incredible and highly addictive. Being able race yourself (or rather your previous best) adds replay value and online play is always fun. If the battery life on the quest 3 was longer I would play it even more. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you so much for this video! ♥ We had a lot of fun watching it :) We also think that Ragnarock is a good warmup! It's ideal to start with a little Offspring before launching into an intense workout session ;) ps: Your intro kicks ass! ♥
My favorite genre of metal, including one of my favorite bands (Gloryhammer), but no demo is no bueno. Even a demo only allowing limited plays would be nice. VR games are sometimes impossible to judge until you've experienced them. The whole ecosystem needs more demos, really.
For gamers, demos are great, for developers, not so much. If you want to loose money as a game studio, make a demo. Jesse Shell gave a talk about it. Think about it this way: if you want to buy one drum rhythm game and there are 3 on the store. One has a demo. After you played that demo, you gonna buy one of the games you haven't tried yet.
@@phil631 Very true. Funny how buying patterns tend to be; and, I guess I don't fall into that because I'm far more likely to buy a game if I enjoy the demo. Even so, for VR, I've found demos invaluable because the very nature of VR makes prejudging a game close to impossible since your whole body is involved. I always thought I'd love Beat Saber, and was HYPED to finally play it when I got a headset, and while I did find it in kind of fun, it was not even close to the workout most claim it is. That is simply something that cannot be known until you play it for yourself.
Bought my quest 2 only two days ago...bought Ragnarock as my first rhythm game...holy mother of metal god....I haven't have fun like this in a while...
I purchased it as well, but after SmashDrums I couldn’t really switch mindset to it. Ragnarok has really specific music, probably just not my cup of tea, but implementation itself is quite nice and fun.
Thanks :) We know that our music style is not for everyone, but we try to diversify our tracklist. You can also check out the custom songs :D But we're so glad to read that you're having fun playing on Smash Drum, this game is so cool!
@@WanadevStudio The music on this game is a blast! I wasn't a fan of this viking rock/celtic/pirate type aggressive music before, I was a club DJ so I listen to old 90's house remixes, dance/EDM, and mainstream pop. But all the of these songs have been an absolute blast to listen to - very hi NRG and really gets me motivated!
As a drummer, I don't like the drums in a line rather than more wrapped around you, its ergonomically horrendous. But also I understand why that's easier to make with the highway style of the approaching hits.
@@RainMakeR_Workshop I don’t have my headset nearby at the moment, but enable any advanced setting and dig through the tweakable options. There are a lot, but the drum curvature is one of them. There is also a “show beat lines” option that I use that can help as well since the curvature can warp the rune pattern a bit.
Thx for this. I've had my eye on this since it's launch, but I wasn't sure about how hard it might get, so the comparison to Taiko really helped, because that's easily my worst rhythm game. Def gonna pick this up eventually.
"Now many people wonder how to become a redneck Viking: many think that it depends on where you're from. But the truth is, anyone can be a redneck viking as long as they know how to fuckin' party. So let's show them how we do it in south Carolina, boys!"
I have a love/hate relationship with this game. The music is fantastic and the overall game design is great. But I despise the mapping of every vocal and instrument to what is supposed to be drums. It just doesn't work and when playing on harder difficulties it's waayy to hard to hit every note, less get Perfects. I still play mostly for the music, some achievement hunting and for VR workout. But Paradiddle is a much better VR drum game. I'd go as far to say Drums Rock VR is also.
I was subscribed, but there weren't enough forced 'explicives' in this video. The beep hurt my ears. 😆 I have this game on Steam.. I've never played it. I'm gonna give it a go, looks awesome! Can Quest players play against PC players?
Just got this game, and thought of a way to make it more of a workout, why not get in horse stance for the duration of the song (or as long as you can hold). That's quite a leg burner there, while having fun.

A very good neutral review on VR Gaming,
Ragnarok wasn't a fitness game, but it still serve n reach it's purpose of Drumming Rhythm Vr game

why is there over a minute of dead air/black screen at the end of the video?
An editing mistake a realized afterwards. 🤷 it happens

Pvp or endurance
