In this one I am listening to BABYMONSTER for the First Time.

Yes the ending of Batter Up is whats known as the “YG party.”Some people hate how common they are in YG title tracks, but when done right they’re go HARD. Batter Up is their first MV (aside from Dream, a gorgeous, gorgeous, song released when they confirmed the members with a great MV, highly recommend), but only has 6, as Ahyeon had to go on a health hiatus, so Sheesh is technically the official debut. They did no performances or really any promotions until Ahyeon returned. Ahyeon is an all-rounder so she sings and raps, and Asa (the rapper you like) is an Ace (so her nickname is Acesa) who raps and sings. The others are Ruka (1st rapper in Batter Up, yellow in Sheesh,etc), Pharita (girl in pink at the end of Forever), Rami (girl who did the cool low note in Sheesh), Rora (first part of bride in Forever, purple dress near the beginning of Batter Up), and the maknae Chiquita (why dont you clap for me in Forever, starts Sheesh). The choruses of Sheesh and Forever definitely grow on you until one day you realize youre humming them. Forever actually had the same message as Dream (drastically different then Forever tho), and it’s essentially like they’re waking up and living out their Dream. Aside from that, definitely check out Like That as well, and theres also Stuck in the Middle although the MV version doesnt include Ahyeon either! Lol theres also their intro Monsters which is really good tbh. Glad you like them!

Charlie Puth gifted a Song, Like that to Baby Monster. He wrote the song in 2018 but never released. He gifted the song to Baby Monster to release in 2024 on their mini album b side when Ahyeon covered his song Dangerously and it went viral. But fans asked for a mv as it is a really great song. Baby Monster released a Like that exclusive performance video. Exclusive as in Christian Dior exclusive showing of their latest designs.

For more vocals, watch their pre-debut 'Dream', 'Christmas Without You' special, and 'Stuck in the Middle'. In their first album, watch their Exclusive Performance Video of 'Like That' for a different flavor from them. The latest thing out that will let you see some of the individual styles of the members 'Leemujin Service ep 125, Rami Babymonster', if you like more soulful R&B. Then there are also all their predebut videos (in black and white) and solo performances, to catch their individual talents.
Babymonster is from the same company of Blackpink!! Jennie and Lisa (the two rappers of Blackpink) helped Babymonster members on their last evaluation before their debut. YG entertainment is the house of good talents in korea, YG training system is the best on kpop to me. their idols are so talented and strong on stage, is crazy

Dream pre debut had all 7 Batter Up and Stuck In the Middle only had Six Ahyeon was away for health reasons she returned as you noted on Sheesh with the blue skull dress rapping and also the High note ascending the stairway at the end then came Like That Performance Video then Forever the new album will be in October.

Love blackpink. And it’s pretty hard to judge obviously but I think as a group babymonster is more talented. I wish YG would bring out longer, maybe 5 minute songs.

Batter Up has only 6 girls as Ahyeon was sick. Sheesh is the official debut with all 7 girls. Batter Up was released as a personal battle rap debut message from YG to Blackpink girls when contract negotiations got stuck. Batter Up in baseball terms mean next batter to step up to bat. Blackpink signed their group contract when Batter Up smashed the most views in 24 hours for a debut and as it smashed fastest 50 million and smashed fastest 100million views, Blackpink girls signed. Sheesh with all 7 girls has taken all the debut records from Batter Up and now is set to take the fastest 300 million kpop debut history ever. Batter Up is now considered pre debut.
Although this sounds like a great story, I don't buy it. Mainly because writing, producing, filming, cutting takes a lot of time, so I do NOT believe they could come up with this baseball theme on short notice exactly because of the Blackpink negotiations. Plus: Why on earth would the 4 ladies feel any pressure through Babymonster at all? They are soooo successful, legendary each on their own. These 4 are very close to each other and for sure they wanted to continue as Blackpink (after a while of their solo endeavors) but only on their own conditions. If anyone felt any pressure, it's been YG! If I remember correctly, their stock already took a dent, they lost pretty much all their money-makers, so somebody needed to save them - Babymonster! Your story sounds nice, but nah.
@@TheLexlegis believe what you want. You can't get past Batter Up was rushed in without any promotion plans, no award shows, no public appearances. It clearly was directed at Blackpink contract negotiations which had stalled for almost a year. And the fact is Batter Up means, next batter to step up to bat. Yep it has fighting rap signature written all over this song. Ruka raps, Square Up, going going gone. Square Up is Blackpink's debut album. Also a play of words, Better Batter Up. It means improved version to bat. Rami raps, got a lot to say, a big mistake and toss the telephone?. Sure sounds like a message to someone? Rose? Gone had a telephone scene. Ruka raps, baton in hand I run run run? In track and field,, the baton is passed from one runner to the next. Note also that none of the Blackpink girls have congratulated Baby Monster for smashing Blackpinks, boombayah's 7 year record for the fastest 200 million in debut history. Yes Of course Blackpink is powerful and Lisa Rockstar was dropped 2 days before Forever and almost immediately it took the wind out of Forever. Forced YG to announce Blackpink comeback to know that Lisa still has lots of muscles and she flexed. YG is a powerful label and he still owns Blackpink, the brand.
@@getgreatstuff88getgreatstu8 Yeah, I give you that, point taken. Do we actually know when the serious negotiations with Blackpink really started? Sure it might've felt like a year to us Blinks, but wasn't it honestly more like 4 months or so? I've said it then and I say it now: that is no suprise it takes a while to essentially fit the plans of 5 parties into one - scheduling-wise, money-wise, artistic-wise etc etc. Still, it's my personal opinion that I don't believe seemingly "easy" explanations - not saying you couldn't be right anyways.
@@TheLexlegis seemingly easy explanations? YG songs usually have more than 1 meaning. That is why YG music is so much fun. There are hidden gems hidden everywhere. It is up to fans to go hunting for the meaning behind the lyrics or the mv scenes. I am not saying my interpretation is right or wrong but it sure does fit the history. Study the history and match the meaning behind the songs. 4 months? Would you wait until the last 4 months to negotiate such an important contract which is 75% of YG profits? Nah negotiations would have been underway for at least a year. Don't forget as a public company, YG will need to forecast sales and profits in anticipation that Blackpink contract will be signed well before the 4 months to the end of the contract.

Like i said, i'm convinced the "serious" negotiations could've only started after the 4 ladies were back in South Korea after their world tour (but still before their finale). Why? Yes, i give you that for sure preliminary talks will have started long before that, yes. But do you honestly believe that either side (the members vs YG) would've wanted to get into deep legal and emotional talks while still being on their world tour? Really? Na. For sure there were some light-weight talks (which the ladies surely responded in a way to indicate that this would not be an easy extension and smooth sailing for YG). But I bet that none of the four would've wanted extra burden aside from their constant hassle of packing and unpacking, flying, adjusting to new environments, stress and expectations of delivering each performance with the same energy and quality as the previous one. No. In that time no "serious" legal and emotional talks were done with YG for sure. That happened after their return to South Korea. Hence the approximately 4 months.

Hey Tov1n, the girls have just finished their fan meet promotions this past weekend (Aug 10-11) in Seoul, South Korea (there are many fan cams to view) and will be dropping a full album in Sep/Oct so keep an eye out for that. Also, Rami, 16, was a guest on the show called Lee Mujin Service. Rami is the girl in Batter Up in which you stated you liked her tone. If you liked her tone in Batter Up you'll love it in this. The way the Sheesh end was built was via the triplet flow in the back and forth rap part (to set up the feeling of triplets) then going to half time and combining the two things to give 12/8 time at 70 bpm. It's pretty clever, rhythmically.
Definitely not for everyone, but I love it.
Thanks for the kpop reaction. I recommend Dreamcatcher as the most unique girl group in kpop. Check out their latest song Justice. They have a very different vibe than Baby Monster.

You missed Stuck in the middle. My personal thoughts are also a personal message from YG to Blackpink over their Stuck in the middle contract with group contracts but the girls did not sign their solo contracts.. Also released only with 6 Baby Monster girls. Ahyeon still sick.
