Huge fan of Larson’s work especially the Undying Mercenaries and Star Force series. As a disabled vet listening to Mark Boyett narrate the series got me through a lot of dark times. Edit: oh and I happily pay to support his work both on audio and written page.
Expeditionary Force and Undying Mercenaries are the two best Sci-fi series of the 21st century so far. Alanson and Larson are amazing writers, both different style but huge on detail, fleshing out characters and breathes new life into military sci-fi.
I'm so thankful for Craig's approach to the rate at which he releases books. I couldn't imagine just one book a year. The fluffernutter, here asking the important questions. Waiting on that next installment boys
I can't recommend listening to this series of (13 now I think?) audiobooks enough! Funny as all hell, yet still SOMEHOW as intellegent, deep, and often dark and emotional as the best military scifi out there. Keeping that mix so exquisitely well tuned over so many entries is a spectacular achievement for the author AND the narrator both, more so than any other work I've ever heard.
Very interesting conversation. I was unsure if I wanted to continue Undying Mercineres after Rogue World, which was were I stopped last time, but Craig Alanson is one of my favorite authors, and I have read all three of his series.
Awesome. Two authors of books I have listened to and really enjoy. I have just listened to Brushfire and now have Edgeworld downloaded and will start listening tomorrow. These two series are currently my favorites. It is great to put a face to the writings I am enjoying.
What an unexpected pleasure to find this interview in my feed, I've read both the Undying Mercenaries series and recently caught up with Expeditionary Force series. I was awestruck by the idea of reprinting people that I blabbed about it to people who were clearly not interested. My head just about exploded with surprise and joy when Skippy arrived part way through book one of ExFo. And it's been a real pleasure following the adventure ever since. Finally, speaking as a non-American, I'm not sure ... but I'm guessing fluffernutter isn't actually a real thing. Well, it seems Wikipedia says I'm wrong. Dang it!
Love both Expeditionary Force and Undying Mercenaries. James McGill and Joe Bishop characters couldn't be more different from each other. One is overconfident and doesn't think past his next sandwich the other lacks confidence and overthinks everything he does but both of them defacto lead their entire civilizations.
Both of these book series are fantastic. please make movies, TV series and or animation series of Expeditionary force and Undying Mercenaries please please please!!!
Oh snap! I forgot I burned 4 or 5 "spare" Audible Credits on Expeditionary Force! Still need to listen to those! As for BV Larson: I hope I bought him a car by now... :-D Loving is stuff! I hope for more of all his series! Also Star Runner! Loved it! First time I saw BV talk/live, before this I only ever saw 1 picture of him... EDIT: There is a new Star Runner! Another 5 bucks fifty for BV! ;-)
Absolutely can't wait for Brushfire!!!!
Same! I actually got Audible so I could pre-order all books this year

James McGill my favorite sci fi character.
but why the background music it is little annoying
That's good feedback, thanks!
We demand a Netflix series. Such a TV show would break the internet.
I wish they would get rid of the music in the background, it's quite distracting.
Love the MiGill creature
Skippy
Holyshit! Both of my favorites!!
Huge fan of both writers ❤
i love there books
I love James McGill!
Cool interview. Get rid of the background music though
