- So to be completely honest, I’m not 100% sure what this mystery wood is, but it made a great woodturning project! Some friends gave this piece to me and said they pulled it out of a fire burn in the mountains of Colorado. I am about 90% sure it’s Twisted Pine, but it smells a lot like Juniper and it finished much smoother than I’m used to with pine.
I used standard woodturning techniques: after casting the piece in epoxy resin, it was straightforward woodturning to produce this fantastic, one-of-a kind piece of wood art with these crazy twists. I love it!

That turned out absolutely gorgeous! Very well done. Wouldn’t mind says more stuff along those lines just great.
Amazing piece, well done
Nice spiral structure
That's beautiful😊😊 if you make another one, would you consider using the colour orange then it would look like tiger stripes, which would be really cool.😘😘 Thanks for the video.
Cool idea! tiger atripes would be cool
Beautiful❤
Wow! That turned out so well! Such a unique piece! 🤩
Yup, that's some stunningly beautiful wood grain. The finished product is amazing.🎉
Looks amazing.
Thank you
Nice
This is damn gorgeous! The wood reminds me of Spalted Maple which is also used as a guitar top and i‘m a huge fan of that because it looks kinda like an old treasure map drawn on parchment.
How probable is it that your piece of wood is some Crataegus or Prunus?
it’s a pretty unique pattern
Beautiful piece.
Absolutely beautiful. You Tube unsubscribed me so now I will binge on your videos.👍👍
Welcome back!
I wish you knew what it was. Then again I wish I knew I could find some around here too lol. Looks fantastic. The twists and resin just pop.
👍🏻👍🏻
Good color choice to be somewhat transparent.
I have a piece of Lilac that looks just like it. I know lilac smells like juniper too when it’s cut. I’ll admit though, my tree identification is terrible at best. Really nice piece sir.
Wow! Amazing vase!!
Thank you so much 😊

thanks, the wood is the real star!
That’s an amazing result. What species of wood is that?
I think it's probably Twisted Pine
Looks great what wood is it.
not sure…it was given to me by some friends. I think it’s probably Twisted Pine
👌💯🇧🇷
Thanks!
Before I get to into your video why use all that resin if you are just going to take it all back off that is an expense that is very unnecessary
