Don’t feel guilty for spending money on food! It’s more than just food. It’s all the social interactions and relationship building that goes with eating in a company setting. That part is priceless !
Yes it's the price of being included. It's your offering.
Your stage of life doesn’t lend itself to reading. I raised 4 boys so I know. But now at 76 I am able to read for hours. A joy of older age!
1. Baby step one is save $1000 emergency fund. 2. Baby step two is paying off all consumer debt except mortgage 3. Save 3-6 months emergency fund 4. Put 15% in retirement fund 5. Set aside college fund for kids6. Pay off mortgage 7. Give to charities and add more to retirement fund beyond 15%.
Step 7 giving to charity is actually before mortgage paid off

Looks like a blessed full life. It is always a good day when you need to spend money AND you have the money to spend. That is such a gift. Doing things for the right reasons and with the right attitudes changes everything, too. Haven't stopped by in a while, but have to say it is a little jarring to see Miller doing things I remember Fletcher doing. Miller is growing so fast! He is becoming a real buddy and companion to Fletcher and not the baby anymore. Time is flying. And Evonnie turning six must make you feel like a veteran at this parenting thing. Happy birthday Evonnie!

If you enjoy doing the things you are doing during what we call "wasted time" it's not wasted. Rest is so important. I have to constantly remind myself of that as well. Love your videos :)

The credit card companies hate my hubby and me too. We put 98% of our monthly expenses on the credit card and then pay it all off every month. Then we use the points for extras! Saving and paying for something is so much nicer than taking loans out. It's so rewarding. We just had our kitchen remodeled and it's paid for! It took years and years to save for it but so worth it. I keep trying to teach my niece about this life skill.
We are always in a desperate money situation since we all have disabilities. But something I really like to do is see what we already have that can be used in more than one way. Also to try and only think of how blessed we are for whatever we already had. We haven't had an income for one year now. But we've survived! 😀
I understand the no income completely as I had to quit working due to a back injury, surgery, etc. But I try to sew small jobs to help. @@juliejackman2649
We love to use our points for cash on trips!
I wish my parents had taught me more, but I have a learning disability called dyscalculia, so my sister thankfully handles my bills and everything. So lucky to have her!

I love to read, but life is so busy! I’m a homeschooling mom of 3 in grades 8, 5, and 4, so lots going on during the days! I am part of a book club, so I read at least that one book each month and I read school books aloud to my children. My oldest is a huge bookworm and has an impressive vocabulary and spelling skills because of it! 👍🏻

Thank you Megan! Yes prices are similar here in the northeast! Especially pumpkins and mums! We grew vegetables this year to help with food costs , and I love to make my own pickles too!..:) we are going to a cabin next weekend with family , it is so much fun and a great way to spend time with family, thank you for sharing yours! Growing up my mamaw had a picture on the wall of a older Native American woman and when i got old enough to be curious i asked who she was. She was her great grandma. She had passed before my mamaw was born so she didn't know a whole lot about her. What i wouldn't give to know her story. That is so cool that you have that. ❤

I really enjoyed this video. I keep track of all the money we spent. I have done this for several years. I think it really helps us with our spending/planning. We are going to retire in a few years so it is essential to know what you are spending for retirement planning.

DISHWASHING TIP: I've learned that the dishwasher is a great drying rack for the hand-washed dishes. It gets them off the counter and they can air dry out of sight. 🙂

Yes! After almost 4 months.
Try BBs in Quarryville or Hilltop Greenhouse for pumpkins!! Bbs has had different sizes and types from anywhere $0.99-$4.99. Big, small, orange, yellow, Cinderella, gourds, etc. And i haven't looked hard at hilltop yet but last year they were the cheapest I found in our area.
I'm 19 weeks pregnant I feel like we are in it together! Lol prayers for your family and baby's health 🙏 thanks for another great video Megan!

Fun fact : A job I had was driving customers to work/ home that dropped their car for service. And I always enjoyed talking about anything. In saying many white cars are on the roads in Lancaster county she mentioned they are considered the safest color on the road. She worked in insurance industry and less white cars are in accidents. Always picked up little interesting tidbits from customers.

The manhunt was a few miles away and scary because he was just walking into homes, hiding out. They really had it shut down here, thankful no one else got hurt.
The cheapest pumpkins for us are sitting out front of farms around here. I love country life, we are so blessed. Except for the snakes of course. 😮

Books I've read recently are "Becoming Free Indeed" and "Like a River". I would highly recommend Like a River. Especially to anyone who has experienced loss.

9/11 was a crazy day. We lived in Venezuela then. I was cleaning the back patio when our neighbor called over on his way to work his condolences. I was like what what happened when he told me I was flabbergasted. As a whole family we had been there celebrating my parents 50th just that summer.

I was not a reader when I was younger but now being a empty nester from raising 6 kids I am working on reading more. I love watching RUclips videos also to find ideas & inspiration. I am also a business owner so I enjoy others channels relating to business & life. I am also a Christian & am loving reading the bible chronologically right now.
Also I am looking at wearing more skirts & dresses again. I am 5'8" & have long legs with a skinnier waist but hips so finding jeans is almost impossible for me anymore the way they make them. I love wearing fit flare dresses the most.
Something came to mind when watching your video.....When we lived in Ohio we spent so much more than living here in NC. And living in PA , I know you get it. Between winter snow apparel, paying for snow removal, extra wear and tear on your tires/car (and having your car "winterized" with the mechanic), salt for driveway & walkways, high heating bills, etc., etc. I have noticed a big difference since moving here 3 years ago.
my great grandma/my grandpa's family is mentioned in Annie's Day of Light! she was named Annie or Anna (Burkholder) Martin and she's mentioned somewhere when she dies of tuberculous. I believe she's Annie's husband's sister. maybe we're cousins?!
The sure fire way to get a fly- an old fashioned fly swatter! Grab one on your next trip to the Dollar Store. We have one of the tennis rackets too lol while it’s fun, it doesn’t always get the job done on those fast flys 😊

Megan this was a fun video!! I would be very interested in learning how you do budget when you have an income (yours from social media) that is not necessarily consistent. What do you guys do for health insurance, taxes, retirement, private school (we paid for a Catholic school and then paid for our 2 sons college)...lots of sacrificing for sure! My husband owns his own retail store and I am retired so we watch our dollars. I love learning from Dave Ramsey and follow it for the most part. I am going to put your area on my bucket list to visit as it always looks so pretty when you take us along on your car rides. Happy Birthday Evonnie! I love that you are able to have a camping week-end with your family every year! Thank you for taking us along on your week. You are such a beautiful woman and I love how you model clothes.
