Didn't realize MK had made this. He interacted with me on facebook regarding AHQ, he has an "advanced advanced" rule set with more RPG elements, which is downloadable from his site. He also has a nice expansion for Runebound 2nd ed (I downloaded that, too, since RB 2nd ed is my all-time favourite immersive game). Excellent vid as always!
I learned of his Runebound stuff when I went to his site and have downloaded some of it too--haven't had a chance to get to it yet thought. That game is without a doubt one of my favorite games as well. I hadn't known of his AHQ material either when I made my vids on that or I'd have included it. He's got wonderful material.
I'am live in asian. and It is expensive for shipping fee. I am wondering if I can print it (and any other kinds of rule bookls) by myself in the condition of legal PDF?
I can’t recall the actual rules on this but as I play it if the monster escapes from me it goes onto a list of wondering monsters that may show up again.
If the monster escapes from you, it is gone forever. If you escape, the monster’s name and number is written on the dungeon sheet and it will be at full hp if you come back to fight it again...
fehner27 Grest question! I still haven’t played 4AD. D100 and Ironsworn are both great but EXTREMELY different. D100 is a pen and paper dungeon crawl (not really an RPG with characters per se). There is really no story involved. It’s random generation of rooms and monsters-quite similar to DeathMaze and Citadel of Blood (tho those are richer IMO). Both of those are on my channel too. Ironsworn is a narrative-based RPG ruleset that allows for a great deal of creativity and development if you bring that to the table. You can really create a story but it isn’t all there for you-your experience will be dependent on what you bring to it otherwise it will fall flat. Depending on what you are looking for either is great. Hack/slash/roll a die and do what it says- that’s D100; a slowly-evolving story that you need to actively bring to the table - that’s Ironsworn
Thank you for this review. The differences are without a doubt noticeable. This is a game I still need to try. BTW, have you tried Ironsworn? It's a gorgeous book, available for free (in digital) or print, and with solo play in mind.
Hinsley Mithralnuggets The Adventurer’s Conpanion (a different book-I did a vid) has a paladin and arcane wizard and a whole bunch of other things (Barbarian, etc) but no cleric per se

Been playing v. 2.2. Guess I'm going to have and break down and buy a copy of v.3. Thanks for the WONDERFUL videos. You're a excellent teacher. 👍
Thanks for the overview of the new version and changes.
First of all, thank you for this. Second of all, I really enjoy the different flavors of videos you put out.

Totally picked up this book after watching. Thanks for the video :D
I've been enjoying the print to play version. I will have pick up the printed version. Great job on covering the changes.
Dragon Roams Thanks! I was just thinking of taking this out again, actually. It’s a very well-implemented game.
Thank you for all the explainations!

The designer of the game has generously uploaded free pdfs of all parts of the game here: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/237031/d100-dungeon/files
When you escape a monster it will still be there, what if the monster escapes from you?

So Armor and Weapons don't start with damage in the print version?
Brian A. Thomas When armor and weapons are found they may be damaged.
If you buy them from the market, they are undamaged.
so, which game would you go with if this would be your first ever solo rpg pen and paper? 4AD, d100, or Ironsworn? Love the video!

Thredith Undomiel Glad you enjoyed this. I will be doing a video on Ironsworn in the not too distant future!
I see warrior, rogue and sorcerer. Is there a priest/cleric?

It's to bad the book won't lie flat. While the perfect binding looks more professional, a spiral binding would be much more practical.
Philip Gwyn I agree though spiral bindings end up being hard on paper. But yes, that would have been better.
