I live in the States and had an interesting run-in with our gas company. Here, we are responsible for anything inside the house, they are responsible for outside. I got a bill saying we owed them over $300 for gas used because our meter had been broken for 2 YEARS. Now, they had been paid around $80 a month all that time for "maintenance", and our bill said they had actually read the meter all that time, so I told them I'd give them their $300 if they gave us back around $2,000 for not actually maintaining what they had been paid for (I know there are pipes and lines, etc...but hopefully you get the point). My husband is disabled so we get assistance with the bill, so I called our Senator's office and made the same arguement to them - they called the gas company too. The gas company said, "Sorry, our mistake." and ran away in a hurry. Thinking logically comes in REALLY handy sometimes.
You shouldn't be paying them anything at all, they've already had their money‼️....next time discharge the bill..my friend is North Carolina has already done this, just file them the relevant paperwork, regardless of what State you live in....😏 Best wishes

I might try and watch this but I can tell from the description that BBB has got the terms of reference wrong to begin with. No common law buff would want to "become a straw man". The strawman is what they use to describe their "legal fiction" which is basically the paperwork version of yourself as defined by various official documents starting with your birth certificate. Likewise no common law buff would want to "stand under maritime law". They consider the modern legal system to be based on late medieval maritime law which was optimised for corporations to do trade. The electricity supply is connected to a building and the electricity contract is connected to a person. If you take over a building, you don't take over the electricity account, but the supply is already there. So, when the lights come on, which companie's electricity are you using ?

My brother in law lives in a flat in a tower block owned by his city council, a couple of years ago the local authority decided (post Grenfell) to resite his gas meter from outside his flat door to his kitchen. His gas supplier stopped billing him for the gas supply, their explaination was bizarrely that his meter no longer existed !! The gas continued to flow for a full year. With my assistance, many attempts were made to try and rectify the problem, it took phone call after phone call to explain the situation until finally it was sorted after 12 months. I doubt if it was a single occurence in the tower block and I'm certain that not all residents were as honest as my brother in law and they continue to use free gas to this day.
I rented in a new build flat for 2 years that had gas that I never paid a bill for. I rang round every gas supplier to ask if they were the supplier and they all said no. Nor was it supplied by the electricity company. The owner didn't know, nor the rental company. I kept notes of phone calls and emails and never found out before moving out after 2 years.

As a union rep one of the things that causes problems sometimes is a member will be adamant that they want to take a particular case against management or put forward a particular defence to a disciplinary, that I know will fail. Even worse is when another rep, who is less assiduous in their research, argues such a case. When I take a case I research it down to a fine detail; the facts, the policy and the law. A friend of mine had his gas meter removed, he still has to have annual gas meter inspections. You could probably get your leccy meter removed too but it would cut off your leccy supply, if you lived in a city or a block of flats that would be beyond stupid but out in the middle of nowhere running a solar panel array could replace domestic mains supply.

I find it staggering that this is even an issue. When I was young there were not that many deluded people about. Suggesting you should get electricity and gas for free, would have invited well deserved social ridicule. Being arrogant, entitled, and selfish seems to be becoming normalised.
Here in Australia our legal set up is very similar with meters, but in some years back when the utilities companies decided to install smart meters to every household, even though as the act gives you ( the consumer) the option to have a meter of your choice, the companies teamed up with the politicians forced to install the smart meters with all kinds of unlawful tactics, coercion, threats and so on to achieve their total installations of smart meters. That clearly shows that the utilities companies breach the law when the consumer chooses to remain with the "old" meter, but their choice is ignored and no legal action is taken by administrations against the companies to regulate in favour of the consumers, keeping in mind that the natural resources and bare essentials of life like water,gas,electricity is in reality the property of the people to provide for people under the management of elected administration for the best interest of the people with providing the essentials of life in priority rather than profit as the companies prioritise. Good point re the smart meters being forced. This was true however there was massive push back. The smart meters allowed them to charge more at certain times. With the push back from consumers and electric contractors, the cheeky parasites changed the way they billed the old disc meters, being they charged different rates per blocks. Ie the first 20 kWh at 20 cents the next block at 60 cents and so on It’s now better to have smart meters Cheeky far king carrnts They also smash you with the SEC ( standby electricity charge) being the charge they bill you for the availability of power at any time. My dream goal is to one day go off grid in the bush and become mostly self sufficient. What if you never agreed into a contract with the electricity company to begin with? All letters say to occupier until recently they've added someone's name who doesn't live at the address nor on the tenancy. Vulnerable adults in the household on pip and struggling with hardship and big life changes. Are they allowed to put a meter in the property by force of entry with police? If I keep my front and back gates locked and doors locked and get a no trespassing sign and ask them to leave and stay civil are they allowed to force their way into the home? The name on the letter saying to go court doesn't even live at this address? I don't agree with the prices they were trying to charge me was over £200 a month for 2 people in a 3 bed home.

Assuming the supplier agree to you having your own meter installed they would require it to have been calibrated to show power used same as the meter they fit. You can't charge for storage of an item unless you have a valid contract they agreed to. If you want to sue them for the space used in your house by a shoe box sized meter then the damages would have to be calculated, which would be literally nothing. The claim would be thrown out and you would be told to stop wasting the courts time.
As far as telling us what we should or shouldn't do, the only things we shouldn't do are those things that violate natural (common) law, such as causing harm, loss, injury, ie. murder, assaut, rape, theft, trespassing, coercion and deception. Everything else that does not infringe on another person's rights IS a right, regardless of what you or anyone else claims to the contrary. Having said that, there is an issue where people contractually give away certain rights through commerce/government, and that is why knowing common law is so important.
i spoke to LEAP local energy action charity. they informed me that i dont have to have a smart meter.. the govt insist they hound you, u then ask to be put on “lomg term opt out” you have to do this every 3 months tho. they also told me that smart meters cost more and they can shift the unit price but my key meter rate stays the same as wheb u topped it up. The LEAP adviser worked for energy companies and knows his stuff. just dont agree to have a smart meter fitted !! this info is true as ive just done it!! these blokes work for the crown so what do u expect from officers of the court. even if you employed this guy… he wont work for u.. he still works for the court.. Electricity and telephone services used to be a service fee only, but now we have a structure where our services are corporate for profit suppliers who raise prices regularly to where those in need of them are kept poor through extortion. This is entirely legal BUT not respectable. Not only this, but magistrates courts and police forces as well as councils are also incorporated for profit. No one to make the profit from but you. Expect a barrage of criminalising procedures on you to extract money in the form of cannot park here, cannot stand here, cannot walk your dog here, cannot use this park or walk through it, cannot use this once free road etc.

As an electrician I've been asked many, many times to abstract electricity and every occasion I've refused, then explained just how ridiculously dangerous it is, followed by the ramifications of their stupidity. As you've correctly noted, it's not a right, only a service and rewiring meters for a complete stranger cones with a whole host of risks and prosecutions. So nobody in their right mind would fulfil that request. As much as I hate the current situation of high energy costs, not once have I considered rewiring and nobody else should do either, it's not only a false economy, but chances are you'd cause an electrical fire or worse...just don't!!

The meter is the property of the electricity supplier and the cut out the property of the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) which needs to be removed to isolate the meter for safe removal or replacement. A qualified electrician would need permission from the DNO to remove the cut out fuse. None of this is the property of the home owner.
I have a friend who buried their head in the sand, the supplier obtained a warrant of entry to replace the meters with PAYG ones. Got a knock on the door one morning from an engineer with a locksmith.

Anybody who knows anything about electricity knows that if you remove the meter you disconnect your power. Removing your meter is only feasible if you have your own power source such as wind or solar. The reason people remove their meters when they provide their own power is to not provide greedy power companies with free electricity. By law if you supply excess power into the grid they do not have to pay you for it. So those of us who generate our own electricity have removed our meters so that the power companies can't get their hands on our Access energy unless they agree to pay for it.

Where does the magical idea that physical force cannot be used to enforce civil matters, physical force can be used to remove trespassers, physical force can be used to enforce commercial debt and even in the case of non-commercial debt once a court agent is in the house it's a criminal offence to interfere with them? In my, albeit limited experience of the County Court system, there are a number of serious flaws. Firstly, although court hearings are recorded, the cost of a transcript is very high. However, even if one pays for a transcript, it is impossible to check it for accuracy because there is no system through which the audio file can be obtained. This, very effectively makes it impossible to follow the reasoning behind the Judges decision with any degree of certainty. It also seems unfair that a company can refuse to send the person who produced and signed a witness statement in their defence and can, instead, send a barrister who then "only acts under instructions" and is permitted to avoid any consequences of their actions. (Nuremberg springs to mind).

I wish I had this "to hand" in 2009 I genuinely had to offer to set fire to myself in my energy supplier's office car-park to get any kind of extension to threats of CCJ during the credit crunch. Magna Carta is widely misunderstood, as I former Civil Servant I had frequently to disabuse callers that there was something in Magna Carta which they were relying upon. MC is a statute, like any other, it can be amended by Parliament, and, as you say, very little of it remains in force today. Most of it went centuries ago.

i've got national grid wanting to replace my gas meter because they've condemned it. British gas are trying to charge me as a business, even though its a 1 bedroom flat. Even Ofgen doesn't know whats going on anymore, its in limbo. I capped the supply myself 8 months ago (licensed gas engineer) but am still getting billed for 'read' readings. BG claim i owe £3.5k in one year for gas. Still haven't changed it to domestic, even when they sent their own debt collector avarto out and they agreed it was wrong.

Its all right all of this but the fact is under traditional common law the individual would be tried in a court of equals who would then judge on the validity of the crime, statute or decision. All these energy companies would be taken to court and they wouldnt have a leg to stand on.
No one is “tried” for breach of contract under common law so no jury would ever be involved in the event of chasing a debt. If there were juries for civil cases we’d all be sitting in court for half the year.

It is. Max sentence is five years. In practice max sentence is 12 weeks; and that's more for organised commercial tampering. For individuals it's usually low level community order. I am of course *not* suggesting people do in fact go down that route. Not least because you still owe the money.

If the supplier cannot provide any evidence that they actually provided you with energy, you would be within your rights to withhold payment? it's not a refusal to pay for the energy you've used. it's a refusal to pay someone who has made a claim without any evidence they have actually provided the service you agreed to pay for. It's simple misdirection. Energy companies do not provide energy. They read meters and are used to increase costs without you questioning the government about it.

A company applied through Northampton Court against my wife just before we were made homeless by landlord. I spoke with verbally, and emailed the court to inform them, and requested all correspondence be issued to my wife via her email, with myself cc in. Didn't hear anything for 2yrs. Then a letter came through our new residence letterbox which stated a ccj was issued against my wife, and after tracking her address they were sending bailiffs around. I spoke to court and explained that we had informed them, and had the email still in my account. The lady found notes in case file regarding the contact, and quickly changed her attitude and made a note of it in the case file, and I made her read back what she wrote. Covid hit, and haven't heard anything since. I had a debt company apply to Northampton for an old catalogue account. I denied knowledge of claim and asked for more info. The info they sent was so full of contradictions and wrong info. So I sent a defense which solely relied on pointing out all the wrong information, and the contradictions and falsehoods in the case claim. I advised the judged that the claimant was clearly presenting false and misleading information to the court for financial gain. And as that is against the law, the judge should throw out the claim, and deal with both the legal professional, and their supervisor mentioned in the claim, with the full force of the judges power with regard to that offense. The claimant immediately withdrew the claim. My advice is read the claim very, very carefully. Ask the claimant for further evidence and proof of claim, as many either don't have any, or have some and not full evidence, and some just make it up.

I think you should cover what is supposed to happen at administrative courts, I've seen lots of claims that these cases never see a judge, they simply get stamped by a member of the adminstrative staff, and if that is the case, what does it mean? is an Order, Judgement or Warrent that doesn't pass before the eyes of a judge actually lawful ?
You can't even move the meter yourself - you have to get the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) to move the incoming cabling for electrictiy or pipework for gas and the supply company to move the meter itself which is quite lengthy to arrange. Moving the electricty meter a small distance might be possible but with older cabling even moving it might be extremely dangerous.
Had a gas metre that apparently didn’t work? I informed the gas company regularly yet for 2 years had no bill? Eventually was taken to court for owing £900. Was able to show that I’d contacted them regularly to tell them I’d not been billed for gas? Judge ruled that mistake was gas company’s so I ended up getting free gas for nearly 2 years. I live in the States and had an interesting run-in with our gas company. Here, we are responsible for anything inside the house, they are responsible for outside. I got a bill saying we owed them over $300 for gas used because our meter had been broken for 2 YEARS. Now, they had been paid around $80 a month all that time for "maintenance", and our bill said they had actually read the meter all that time, so I told them I'd give them their $300 if they gave us back around $2,000 for not actually maintaining what they had been paid for (I know there are pipes and lines, etc...but hopefully you get the point). My husband is disabled so we get assistance with the bill, so I called our Senator's office and made the same arguement to them - they called the gas company too. The gas company said, "Sorry, our mistake." and ran away in a hurry. Thinking logically comes in REALLY handy sometimes.
You shouldn't be paying them anything at all, they've already had their money‼️....next time discharge the bill..my friend is North Carolina has already done this, just file them the relevant paperwork, regardless of what State you live in....😏 Best wishes

I might try and watch this but I can tell from the description that BBB has got the terms of reference wrong to begin with. No common law buff would want to "become a straw man". The strawman is what they use to describe their "legal fiction" which is basically the paperwork version of yourself as defined by various official documents starting with your birth certificate. Likewise no common law buff would want to "stand under maritime law". They consider the modern legal system to be based on late medieval maritime law which was optimised for corporations to do trade. My brother in law lives in a flat in a tower block owned by his city council, a couple of years ago the local authority decided (post Grenfell) to resite his gas meter from outside his flat door to his kitchen. His gas supplier stopped billing him for the gas supply, their explaination was bizarrely that his meter no longer existed !! The gas continued to flow for a full year. With my assistance, many attempts were made to try and rectify the problem, it took phone call after phone call to explain the situation until finally it was sorted after 12 months. I doubt if it was a single occurence in the tower block and I'm certain that not all residents were as honest as my brother in law and they continue to use free gas to this day.
I rented in a new build flat for 2 years that had gas that I never paid a bill for. I rang round every gas supplier to ask if they were the supplier and they all said no. Nor was it supplied by the electricity company. The owner didn't know, nor the rental company. I kept notes of phone calls and emails and never found out before moving out after 2 years.

As a union rep one of the things that causes problems sometimes is a member will be adamant that they want to take a particular case against management or put forward a particular defence to a disciplinary, that I know will fail. Even worse is when another rep, who is less assiduous in their research, argues such a case. When I take a case I research it down to a fine detail; the facts, the policy and the law. Sadly not everyone does.

A friend of mine had his gas meter removed, he still has to have annual gas meter inspections. You could probably get your leccy meter removed too but it would cut off your leccy supply, if you lived in a city or a block of flats that would be beyond stupid but out in the middle of nowhere running a solar panel array could replace domestic mains supply.

I find it staggering that this is even an issue. When I was young there were not that many deluded people about. Suggesting you should get electricity and gas for free, would have invited well deserved social ridicule. Being arrogant, entitled, and selfish seems to be becoming normalised.
Here in Australia our legal set up is very similar with meters, but in some years back when the utilities companies decided to install smart meters to every household, even though as the act gives you ( the consumer) the option to have a meter of your choice, the companies teamed up with the politicians forced to install the smart meters with all kinds of unlawful tactics, coercion, threats and so on to achieve their total installations of smart meters.
That clearly shows that the utilities companies breach the law when the consumer chooses to remain with the "old" meter, but their choice is ignored and no legal action is taken by administrations against the companies to regulate in favour of the consumers, keeping in mind that the natural resources and bare essentials of life like water,gas,electricity is in reality the property of the people to provide for people under the management of elected administration for the best interest of the people with providing the essentials of life in priority rather than profit as the companies prioritise. So, you are not neutral my friend, you are ignoring the essence of the people are the highest authority that elect administrations to administer for their best interests.

Good point re the smart meters being forced. This was true however there was massive push back. The smart meters allowed them to charge more at certain times. With the push back from consumers and electric contractors, the cheeky parasites changed the way they billed the old disc meters, being they charged different rates per blocks. Ie the first 20 kWh at 20 cents the next block at 60 cents and so on

As I was renting at the time of the smart meter push, I resisted with locking up my meter box, putting up "no trespassing"signs with related laws on it didnt stop them from annoying me with letters of threat etc that I answered with conviction stating the law and NOT regulation that they argued with, eventually got them off my back, without changing my meter until i moved out of there.
My dream goal is to one day go off grid in the bush and become mostly self sufficient.

All letters say to occupier until recently they've added someone's name who doesn't live at the address nor on the tenancy. Vulnerable adults in the household on pip and struggling with hardship and big life changes. Are they allowed to put a meter in the property by force of entry with police? If I keep my front and back gates locked and doors locked and get a no trespassing sign and ask them to leave and stay civil are they allowed to force their way into the home? The name on the letter saying to go court doesn't even live at this address? I don't agree with the prices they were trying to charge me was over £200 a month for 2 people in a 3 bed home.

14:07 I had the utilities company admitting that the penalties they'd added to my account were down to their mistakes. They agreed to zero my account, removing the penalties. They never did. It continues to build and that after I confirmed with them that they'd agreed to zero the account. Sometimes talking is a waste of time. I'll just continue to pay for what I use and allow the unpaid penalties to attract further penalties. Eventually I'll get bored and take legal advice.

So not even a court order can have that Gas/Elec/Water feed cut off. This is why they want to get in your house and fit a prepay meter.
Now this is Civil and in the world of Civil the Judge CANNOT give that order, and he won’t.
WHY? The contempt of court reporting restriction does restrain the Judge and if he breaches this it’s a Judicial review at the Royal Courts of Justice and he gets fired.
So in brief there is no chance in hell that the feed supply will ever be cut off.
I can’t say that this is the same in every country. But they have to dig a hole in the street to get that done. I’m not saying that it can’t be done but the National grid will tell the Judge to fuck off.

Qualified electrician here, don't change/tamper/interfere with your meter, you are very likely to get yourself in trouble or injure yourself.

Assuming the supplier agree to you having your own meter installed they would require it to have been calibrated to show power used same as the meter they fit. You can't charge for storage of an item unless you have a valid contract they agreed to. If you want to sue them for the space used in your house by a shoe box sized meter then the damages would have to be calculated, which would be literally nothing. As far as telling us what we should or shouldn't do, the only things we shouldn't do are those things that violate natural (common) law, such as causing harm, loss, injury, ie. murder, assaut, rape, theft, trespassing, coercion and deception. Electricity and telephone services used to be a service fee only, but now we have a structure where our services are corporate for profit suppliers who raise prices regularly to where those in need of them are kept poor through extortion. This is entirely legal BUT not respectable. Not only this, but magistrates courts and police forces as well as councils are also incorporated for profit. No one to make the profit from but you. If you cannot move or change property in your own home, and need a company's approval, the property is the companies. If the company require me to "hold" their property then I can charge them rent. Let me explain about energy companies and what they can and CANNOT do.
The electric and gas supply to the house or company cannot be cut off ever. Well, not in the UK.
The world of the movies is different. Once installed that supply of Gas or Elec or Water will be maintained because the National grid is not the energy billing company.
It's a separate company called the National Grid who have a contract with the government and they will not breach that contract and the judge has no authority to override that contract.
So not even a court order can have that Gas/Elec/Water feed cut off. This is why they want to get in your house and fit a prepay meter.
Now this is Civil and in the world of Civil the Judge CANNOT give that order, and he won’t.
WHY? The contempt of court reporting restriction does restrain the Judge and if he breaches this it’s a Judicial review at the Royal Courts of Justice and he gets fired.
So in brief there is no chance in hell that the feed supply will ever be cut off.
I can’t say that this is the same in every country. But they have to dig a hole in the street to get that done. I’m not saying that it can’t be done but the National grid will tell the Judge to fuck off.
They can do anything in the Movies. The Bureaucratic red tape for digging a hole in the street alone can take months.
The Billing Company is just that. It’s a metering and Billing service also licensed by the criminal cabal dba Government, Which also means in economic terms the Gas/Elec is 92% Tax the same as fuel.

The meter is the property of the electricity supplier and the cut out the property of the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) which needs to be removed to isolate the meter for safe removal or replacement. A qualified electrician would need permission from the DNO to remove the cut out fuse. None of this is the property of the home owner.

Anybody who knows anything about electricity knows that if you remove the meter you disconnect your power. Removing your meter is only feasible if you have your own power source such as wind or solar. The reason people remove their meters when they provide their own power is to not provide greedy power companies with free electricity. By law if you supply excess power into the grid they do not have to pay you for it. So those of us who generate our own electricity have removed our meters so that the power companies can't get their hands on our Access energy unless they agree to pay for it.

In my, albeit limited experience of the County Court system, there are a number of serious flaws. Firstly, although court hearings are recorded, the cost of a transcript is very high. However, even if one pays for a transcript, it is impossible to check it for accuracy because there is no system through which the audio file can be obtained. This, very effectively makes it impossible to follow the reasoning behind the Judges decision with any degree of certainty.
It also seems unfair that a company can refuse to send the person who produced and signed a witness statement in their defence and can, instead, send a barrister who then "only acts under instructions" and is permitted to avoid any consequences of their actions. (Nuremberg springs to mind).

MC is a statute, like any other, it can be amended by Parliament, and, as you say, very little of it remains in force today. Most of it went centuries ago.

i've got national grid wanting to replace my gas meter because they've condemned it. British gas are trying to charge me as a business, even though its a 1 bedroom flat. Even Ofgen doesn't know whats going on anymore, its in limbo. I capped the supply myself 8 months ago (licensed gas engineer) but am still getting billed for 'read' readings. BG claim i owe £3.5k in one year for gas. Still haven't changed it to domestic, even when they sent their own debt collector avarto out and they agreed it was wrong.

Its all right all of this but the fact is under traditional common law the individual would be tried in a court of equals who would then judge on the validity of the crime, statute or decision. All these energy companies would be taken to court and they wouldnt have a leg to stand on.

If the supplier cannot provide any evidence that they actually provided you with energy, you would be within your rights to withhold payment? it's not a refusal to pay for the energy you've used. it's a refusal to pay someone who has made a claim without any evidence they have actually provided the service you agreed to pay for.

I was witness to a house being disconnected, western power removed the cable from the house, as the owner refuse to pay, after going to court the judge ruled in favour of the power company, the house owner had to pay the outstanding bills and a reconnect fee and a new meter
Surely though, you can charge your supplier for rental space, as they have their meter on your private property?
Nope. Providing space for a meter is part of your contract with the utility supplier

A company applied through Northampton Court against my wife just before we were made homeless by landlord.
I spoke with verbally, and emailed the court to inform them, and requested all correspondence be issued to my wife via her email, with myself cc in.
Didn't hear anything for 2yrs. Then a letter came through our new residence letterbox which stated a ccj was issued against my wife, and after tracking her address they were sending bailiffs around. I spoke to court and explained that we had informed them, and had the email still in my account. The lady found notes in case file regarding the contact, and quickly changed her attitude and made a note of it in the case file, and I made her read back what she wrote.
Covid hit, and haven't heard anything since.
I had a debt company apply to Northampton for an old catalogue account. I denied knowledge of claim and asked for more info. The info they sent was so full of contradictions and wrong info. So I sent a defense which solely relied on pointing out all the wrong information, and the contradictions and falsehoods in the case claim. I advised the judged that the claimant was clearly presenting false and misleading information to the court for financial gain. And as that is against the law, the judge should throw out the claim, and deal with both the legal professional, and their supervisor mentioned in the claim, with the full force of the judges power with regard to that offense.
The claimant immediately withdrew the claim.
My advice is read the claim very, very carefully. Ask the claimant for further evidence and proof of claim, as many either don't have any, or have some and not full evidence, and some just make it up.
So was Teresa May, ex PM, incorrect then, when she said on the BBC, "we live under common law, by the CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED and no one is above that law" ? You both miss the point, we are sovereign, it matters not what a judge says, yes they can impose fines and forfeitures. Ultimately, the best you can do in your system, is imprison the body, but not the soul or the mind. When people get to the stage, of eating or heating, they don't care about your system.

I think you should cover what is supposed to happen at administrative courts, I've seen lots of claims that these cases never see a judge, they simply get stamped by a member of the adminstrative staff, and if that is the case, what does it mean? is an Order, Judgement or Warrent that doesn't pass before the eyes of a judge actually lawful ?
You can't even move the meter yourself - you have to get the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) to move the incoming cabling for electrictiy or pipework for gas and the supply company to move the meter itself which is quite lengthy to arrange. Moving the electricty meter a small distance might be possible but with older cabling even moving it might be extremely dangerous.
Most energy companies will do what they can to prevent disconnection of supply.
Communication with said suppliers is paramount.
Had a gas metre that apparently didn’t work?
I informed the gas company regularly yet for 2 years had no bill?
Eventually was taken to court for owing £900.
Was able to show that I’d contacted them regularly to tell them I’d not been billed for gas?
Judge ruled that mistake was gas company’s so I ended up getting free gas for nearly 2 years.
Certain I’ve made up for it since😉
