Listening to it now--terrific. Frank, did Dave confirm that you are an INFJ? Wondering because he says that the vast majority of people get a different result from his system, versus self-typing.
Hey, thanks, Sam. he and Shan haven't officially typed me (I don't think), but I feel like if he thought I were mistyped he would have mentioned it, ha ha. hopefully one day I can arrange to get their official typing results.

Yes, there objectively, unquestionably are. I think it's because these types are so rare, we feel like outsiders in our own societies; hence the drive to understand ourselves-and those around us.
It's very likely that INFJs have an abnormally high proportion of internet-user-meaning-seeker types that will be encountered by such sites... if it's self-selection you're measuring .
Exactly my thought! Introverts are more likely to be online searching for information than extroverts, who will rather spend time online on more extrovert-orientated activities (tiktok, marketing, being more active in public).
Bingo. If you measure how many of each type is at a hippie cafe, I mean they're gonna be a lot of INFP and ISFP, but doesn't mean there are equal % of them in larger society. So yeah, INFJ like this human categorizing stuff, so of course, there are a bunch of them showing up at the door. What did he expect?
The only people I have met who are interested in this are infj, intj, and somewhat interested infp. Rest say it's bs. Just talking on people I personally know
What does the *INFJ* say to their *loved one* when they’re, *both* in the kitchen, making sandwiches? _”Will you please pass me that NiFe, when you’re done using it?”_
YOU JUST BLEW UP PANDORA'S BOX. I already was trying to figure myself out, and now it's just information overload.....whelp, down this rabbit hole I go.
I am an ENFJ and one of my best friends is an infj. Her Fe is really strong and my Ni is pretty strong so sometimes she seems more extroverted than I do. However, I clearly repress introverted thinking and she clearly represses extraverted sensing
Through my life I have moved on this spectrum as well. Seems my functions have stayed constant, but my use has changed. Started with Ni Fe in my late teens and early twenties, and after going through my masters degree in electrical engineering and two years of working I would say I have become more of an Ni Ti user. I would say the culture shift caused me to disregard the importance of the Ni Fe as too "hippy" and alternative, and not very engineery. So I think this definetly shifts throughout a persons life, but I feel the base functions stay in place, just different use levels.
I am one of those people who takes the 16 personalities site MBTI test and gets INFP results sometimes and INFJ results other times (I am an INFJ, btw) and it's interesting how the explanation for this is because I'm a Ni/Ti INFJ, who would "come across and more IxxP like" as the video states. I was wondering why this would happen with some people.
I’m so glad this system exists. I’ve been wrestling with typing myself for years now, between INTJ and ENTP. Ni is my strongest function and Ti is very prevalent as well. I never fit neatly into either of those types, but this one makes a lot of sense.
Feeling feminine. Sensing masculine. Thinking masculine. Intuition fem. Introversion fem. Extraversion masculine. Usually if your using all of your functions correctly you’ll have a balanced masculine/feminine personality. Your two main savior functions as Dave says would dictate more of your Masc/fem total output. As long as your within the main type and not a subtype which can also change that masc/fem output.
The reason why the commonality of INFJ’s or INFP’s seems to be skewed or over-represented is probably because they feel most misunderstood compared to other types, so they are heavily attracted towards analysis and discussion of their personality. Quite possibly more-so than other types. In life I never seem to fit in, and I wonder why nobody understands me (heck, I barely understand myself), so when I find videos explaining these things, of course I’m going to be more enthusiastic and engaged about it. It feels like somebody FINALLY gets me for the first time in my life, and now I’m excited to share my experiences online! I believe it’s very disproportional because these types are naturally drawn to this content more than any other type.
Love this - as an INTJ. Didn’t know there were more subtypes than just Classic Jungian Functions. Ni-Ti might be loop, but it’s interesting to think of them as a healthy possibility. (2:27 for the subtypes.)
I found the most interesting part of said podcast to be where Dave stated that he's not going to tell someone they're a different type if they've already built themselves around said type. 😳
INFJ likely the most common temperament among us Manitoba Mennonites Just look at the average Mennonites high standard and spiritual awake even the guilt. High achievers for sure
Wouldn't a subtype change SITUATIONALLY? Outgoing, friendly with company Ni Fe and later Ni Ti when reading, studying , analyzing, ALONE. Maybe I'm BI-INFJ. Any one else here in the closet?
Everyone has two saviour animals. So yes, it depends on the situation. But everyone also has a dominant animal that they use more than their other saviour.
Well, everyone does everything... As Shan and Dave have mentioned, anecdotally people can be typed any way they see fit... It's just that usually people are very much inclined to spend an unhealthy amount of time drilling in the same function, so much so that it starts to become a problem in their life... So the whole system is designed to be almost like a "self improvement guide" to learn how to identify what aspects of your life you're ignoring and how to deal with them
it is not clear to me : at least i don't get the difference between Male and a introverted function , at least there aren't many pepole that can convience somebody to change idea on a dime , and female and a extroverted function, isn't the point of extroverted function that they change accordingly to the subjective word , sorry for the ignorant question i am aware of my stupidity
+P Jackson Are you in his course or something ? Because "exactly as it sounds" isn't an assumption you should follow Tons of people just think "Introverted = awkward/shy while Extraverted = Social Tons of people think NT are smarter than others because that T functions, but when you look at it, mbti is determined by your preferences, not competence. Properly defining terms saves time.
Very Cool! That explains some of what I was wondering. I thought there had to be different percentages amongst the 4 basic categories. What had me curious was they, some of these sites, said that infj's love to read. Well, I like to research and maybe some short articles but I have a hard time staying focused on anything much longer than that, much less a novel. The index is my best friend. I have to absorb info fast or I start thinking about 10 other things at the same time. I'm reading the words but I analyzing something else. Good Video!
I’ve been trying to accept that i am INTP after taking online test but honestly even to this day i have not felt any conclusion that makes me sure it fits me yet, i am too sensitive to be INTP. Even small signs of emotions and impressions triggers me often and makes me think about it for a long time though nobody will see how i feel. Glad that i found this video showing there is a subtype, I almost give up on categorizing my self.
Thanks for your perspective on the podcast. It was enlightening. Now I'm interested in knowing where I fall into the spectrum and wish to learn more information in general. Yes, I purposely waited almost a week to comment because the world has moved on which makes it easier to step outside my comfort zone so this may be the only comment I ever make here but at least I subscribed. Ok. Bye.
INFJ females are not as rare as INTx females. I actually think INTP females are the rarest by like a 3:1 ratio to INFJ females respectively. INFJ males are rare
Wow, I haven't gotten to the point of actually joining your class (but suspect I will) but now that I've started to get an understanding of your system, my mind is blown. I agree with you that people often have little perspective on the self but I think the gender of functions plays a big role in that. I have tentatively assessed myself as an INFJ Ni Ti (feminine) Fe Se (masculine) SC/P(B). it fits SO perfectly. I don't impose my intuition or thinking onto others but am more adaptable and use it supportively. my Fe is confident and assertive (which explains why defending others is the only time I lose my cool, I mean watch tf out 😆) and I've always been really distinct and sometimes even ballsy with my image. I am very athletic as well. I dominated in sports and I dance with way too much confidence 😏 but that's because I'm good 😂😉 one of the reasons I'm tending to trust my assessment is that I primarily consider myself in terms of my actual activities throughout life and from what others say about me (NiTi considering and valuing FeSe). your creation is very impressive ☺️ great system of classification people often think that I'm an NT or an ENFJ before they get to know me and this totally fits. I also really need to work on standing up for my own ideas because that FF NiTi has really kept me down a lot. I can't stand up for myself at all. it's too bad because my Ti is excellent and I even went to a school for geniuses 🙄 which I thought was elitist 😆 but my point is that this really pinpoints what I need to work on. like integrating in a much healthier way instead of hiding out in my Ni Ti all day long and getting nothing done. in enneagram I'm a 5w4 with 2 as my second highest score but I've totally turned my back on that and exist almost solely in that 5 space of avoidance. I fear getting enslaved by my Fe
I dunno Carl Jung spent the majority of his life to this stuff. Is there a posibility that all of the self proclaimed infj on the net are mistyped? I saw on an interview he said infj dont like to talk about their insights because no one would understand and yet all the infj are on youtube and in the comments section with their insights and ideas.
NiFe is hard to simulate as it takes place unconciously and its not really fully understood. Carl Jung said he once had a dream of a cross on fire but he kind of knew what it ment. i think this is NiFe at work.
@@fieldsofdragonflies Im just woundering if NiFe is more deeper. as i think imagination could be mistaken for Ni. What if Ni for an infj shows symbols or images that relate to universal truths. If Carl Jung is a real life authentic infj shouldnt all infj relate to him or have at least some similarities to him.
Fields Of Dragonflies I disagree. Keep in mind, a person (regardless of type) will have access to all the cognitive functions. And given how life has shaped them, it will affect how they use all their functions. It is quite normal for an INFJ to be a heavy Si user, especially when it comes to dark past events and saddening nostalgia. Because for them, Si is more demonic in nature. Hence, why a lot of INFJs claim to stay up all night replaying a lot of their darker memories. This is completely normal of INFJs (especially when they're sad and alone). Now, is this healthy? Every so often, yes. But everyday for the next couple years? In this case, we've moved beyond type, and now need to discuss the mental state of this person.
@@acatssoftnose3940 i understand where your coming from. Im actualy just getting my information from what Carl Jung says in his documentaries about Ni. Just saying if we were to take Carl Jungs version of Ni it would seem that nearly every infj on the net would most likley be mistyped. But if we took the modern aged version of Ni it would mean anybody that is intoverted and has an imagination would be an infj. Isnt Carl Jung like the Grand master of these functions?
L L "Isnt Carl Jung like the Grand master of these functions?" Not at all. He was the originator, but not the finisher of analytic psychology. We have learned a lot since then about human nature, and we should rightly update our understanding of cognitive functions. I now largely base my understanding of cognitive type theory on Dario Nardi's understanding of it: life experiences will shape cognitive function usage patterns in our lives. For this reason, you will find INFJs who have great Ni and Fi, but poor Fe. Likewise, there are INFJs who are great with Fe, but hilariously lacking in Ti. Interestingly, DaveSuperPower's work affirms the reality of different types of INFJs. I am in the camp that believes that life experience can greatly shape us to the point of appearing and behaving as other types. However, I do believe we are born with a preferred function stack (or our "true" type).
Cstank5 I think infjs can take it... those I met want to be normal :D but I really hate that he said all the other types aren't rare :( Why am I so unlike all these other people than? Tsss :D
You realize that humans are not evenly dispersed, right? For example you will find much more INFPs and INFJs in counselling than, lets say, ISTJs but it doesn't mean that ISTJ are more rare
It would be useful if there were a reliable way to figure out a person's type. So far, everyone (including Jung, Myers, and Briggs) are just kinda intuiting their way through this mess. Trying to better organize what they already believe, even though everyone's ideas might not be true in the first place. I think (intuit) that it's largely on the right track, and Objective Personality is getting much closer, but who knows.
INFJ's get mistyped a lot and other types get mistyped as INFJ's a lot but still, types like INTP, INFJ are more interested in this psychology stuff. Contrary to popular belief, ENTP's would rather explore some more interesting concepts like gaming. INTJ's too, they won't ponder with this for too long.
Wow, finally this makes sense more than anything, ni-ti. I hate human suffering so much so I have a hard time hearing about it, but I seem to stay in a state of ni-ti as a default.🧐
Thought I was an intp then ENTP then EnTJ in my intp shadow. Now I think I'm a INfj jumper. My motivation to learn my type is relationships. I know I can do work. But I'm not motivated UNLESS I am doing something for someone else. Then i can't think of any else.
Thanks, Dave, for posting videos about your scientific approach to MBTI. I don't understand the Observer/Decider dichotomy. Does it have to be either one or the other? May you please explain more about being an observer vs being a decider?
Emmanuel U Yes, everything has to be one or the other...this is a binary system. An observer's life (someone lead Oi or Oe) will ultimately revolve around control/chaos issues with relative balance between self and tribe. A decider is the opposite, where they are swinging on the self and tribe all the time and can go back and forth between the observing functions more easily. That being said, everyone can do everything, so a decider is not without observer problems and an observer might run into some issues deciding at times, so you have to take a step back and look at the pattern of problems of the year(s) vs just what may or may not be going on them with currently or one particular problem they may have that falls on the other side.
I would like to comment some INFJ are subject to multicultural society.. where law are put in place to prioritize biased harmony.. progress is subjective to one tribe.. Anyway, good videos.. I have clearer understanding of cognitive needs..
I don't fully understand why the middle two are negotiable. If someone is more Te than Fi.. wouldn't that just make them an INTJ...? Thank you! I love these videos
INTJ would have Te/Fe, not Ti/Fi. In orginal MTBI there's no way someone could have Ni first and Ti second, only Ni,Fe as INFJ or Ni,Te as INTJ, in this model it's possible
@@LechuvPL I'm sorry I mistyped lol. I meant Te or Fe. That is great for clarifying my typo, but doesn't answer my question fully. If someone is Ni/Fe...then why are they not INFJ?...Like purely based on the naming. I am confused why the middle two are negotiable.
They can change because they're relatively balanced compared to the 1st and 4th functions... Ie. If an INTJ has Fi as a second function, that means they are Ni/Fi unlike an INFJ who would be Ni/Fe The 4 letter acronym references the function stack in this system...
added context to whenever the information uploads into a new window. is about as equal to the trust rating of the information I have with it at same time.
PepperSaltNstuff A similar question has been asked in class at one point and I think they said drug use might make their functions even more obvious, with the exception of ones that leave practically incapacitated (Obviously you can't type someone who is barely conscious and probably not saying much of anything if at all). But to answer you question of how to study the effects---it would be to objectively type them. Then you would be able to get a clearer picture of how to they are seeing themselves as the inverse of what they really are (which is generally the case...drug use, trauma, or not).
PepperSaltNstuff Not really sure why...they are still the same person with the same demons. That's why Dave tries to hammer home you're not typing people by their behaviors...that'll just lead you back into the subjective land of anecdotes.
PepperSaltNstuff I think if anything, drugs and/or alcohol could potentially inform the animals if we're talking about long term and/or early use. Maybe. But that's a something to look into much further out----
There are 16 MB types, so if they were distributed evenly, each type would be a little more than 6% of the population. INFJ is 3%, so about 1/2 of what a random distribution wouldproduce, but not reallyTHAT rare, compared to the other types.
Wow, I might be Ti.. I'm depressed atm lol.. mildly but with overall apathy.. but not in a toxic way but definitely in an unproductive deep down inside "shitting myself" way because I'm failing uni atm
I wonder, can a demon function with years become a savior function, if it's not the last one? Like for example. When I was a child I was almost all the time in the state of Sleep (Ni-Ti), but then I decided that I wanted to change(because I was too introverted to the point where it was making my life hard, like going to university or shopping or even just going outside) and I slowly started working on the ways to express myself(my Fe), to speak louder, to joke(I mostly have copied a lot of characters in TV shows and anime) and to be polite. And now, I really like communicating, I even go into the Blast mode often. Actually, I even chose Teaching as my profession. Or am I confusing my functions?
Einsame M No, it just means you developed or put time into that "muscle" and/or maybe Ti isn't really your savior. Also "sleep" doesn't just mean quiet and introverted. And don't forget that everyone can do everything....
hi Einsame M, I am similar. Possibly the whole idea of saviours and demons is given too much weight - maybe more important if you are young. We do after all have all the functions. First they say to have a 'type' you must have balance, then they say but people aren't actually balanced, or, it's more nuanced than that. Some people might really focus or identify with one type of function over another, but others could be more balanced from learning how, or from early experiences (ideal parenting?). The overall 'type' name implies balance (introversion/extroversion, deciders/observers), but some people are tipped in certain directions, use functions in a different way. This channel comes up with fancy, possibly unnecessarily complicated ways to describe that. Comments by Timothy A Miller below lay it out more directly below. I used to be very introverted, and still score high on that - i.e. observe and think intensely and rarely talk about it except to close friends or private writing (which is nothing like 'sleep', I dislike that terminology, feels more like drilling down or digging), but I am also heading more into 'teach' mode as I try to interact with the world more for work, share what I've learnt from years of digging, try new things, or be a 'grown up'. In learning how to use Fe more I've let Ti slip a bit, I can imagine how any function might become a 'demon' from neglect.
Lily L No. In Dave's/OP's system saviors and demons are everything. It's THE defining factor of their system....which is not MBTI. They try to make that clear over and over. You have to unlearn all that stuff. Yes, they are referring to the cognitive functions, but the type theory is actually quite different. In fact, they say 90% of the time people type themselves "upside down", because people tend to be more aware of their demons then their saviors. People remember pain and discomfort more than what comes easy to them.
so where is the proof of this demon-savior dichotomy? I'm not wedded to MBTI either, I'm testing ideas. To me it seems like people are forcing yes/no answers on a lot of variation for the sake of a nice tidy diagram. There is talk of data but these videos never show any.
Lily L What do you mean 'proof' of savior/demon dichotomy? When typing, you are looking for EVIDENCE of savior or demon N or S and same for T and F---BEFORE you even get down to Ni/Ti or whatever specific functions. And yes, everything is based on a binary "coin" (which makes sense to me since our reality is based in duality) in order to make the system objective. It's either one or the other. This or that. Otherwise typing dithers in subjective land, which is why MBTI and the like has never had much respect and/or is considered pop psychology or just a plain ole joke to the scientific community.
Wait so if there’s an INFJ out there that consumes in a savior state, wouldn’t that make them really hard to type? How would you be able to tell the difference from an INFJ like that, and an ESFP?
Unbiased self-assessment over a stretch of time. I MIGHT match the description you just shared, actually, in a sense. I’m working on a very concise and accurate self-assessment system. I’m hoping it’ll help people see what unlocked for me not long ago, finally. Wild, but almost like common sense when you see it.
The statistics of INFJ being rare came from MBTI test. If you don't believe in test, I don't understand why you believe that statistics. It makes more sense that types are spread proportionally to me.
Function pairings, a perceiving function pairs with a judging function. Each type has 4 pairings, but the order may differ from person to person. Take INFJ, for example. They have Ni, Fe, Ti, and Se as their functions. These pair as Ni-Fe, Ni-Ti, Se-Fe, and Se-Ti. But the order each particular INFJ prefers each pairing (Dave calls a pairing an "Animal") varies from one to another. So, take it step-by-step: 1. Ni-Fe or Ni-Ti as their first pairing. 2a. If Ni-Fe, then it can be Ni-Ti or Se-Fe as their second. 2b. If Ni-Ti, then it can be Ni-Fe or Se-Ti as their second. 3. We continue on with their third and fourth. So, one INFJ could be Ni-Fe, Ni-Ti, Se-Ti, then Se-Fe (Dave calls this one Blast-Sleep/Consume, the name for the function pairings) and another could be Ni-Ti, Se-Ti, Se-Fe, Ni-Fe (Dave calls this Sleep-Consume/Play). There are 8 of these combinations. Then there are 4 masculine/feminine spectrum elements to bring it to 32 different INFJs.
Blast = introverted perceiving function paired with extroverted judging function (Ni-Fe for INFJ) Sleep = introverted perceiving function paired with introverted judging function (Ni-Ti for INFJ) Play = extroverted perceiving function paired with extroverted judging function (Se-Fe for INFJ) Consume = extroverted perceiving function paired with introverted judging function (Se-Ti for INFJ)
@@bumblyjack Thank you! Although Dave has discussed the theory before, it's hard to distiguish it from the knowledge I've learned by the standard MBTI.
Subtypes notwithstanding, there are still statistical probabilities regarding the real world incidence of types for each of the 16 major personality for types. So your comments with regard to the 32 types of INFJ notwithstanding, it does not affect the scarcity of the overall personality type. The 1% 2% incidence of the and if you type this up to split among 32 INFJ subtypes. So while I agree with the focus on the cognitive stack and the relevance of looking at the person through that lens to determine what they are actually behaviorally like, this has nothing to do with the statistical prevalence of the major INFJ subtype. The same argument goes for all the 16th of the major personality types. Just because there are 32 subtypes does not mean that if we were to add the percentage incidence of each sub type that the total exceed the probability incidence of the major MBTI type to which they belong. If that were the case and we would take you to the 32 Subtype St. 16 with your personality types, the total would add up to significantly consistent. So if INFJs as a whole comprise wi1-2% of the population And there are 32 subtypes, Devan what address do you use to just probability incidence of each INFJ subtype, when totaled, they should -by definition - add to 1 to 2%.
You could have a sleep last INFJ though... It is base on functions, Oe+Di=consume And INFJs have neither as a saviour, their only 2 options would be sleep or blast first, the rest can fall in whatever order
Can you explain the letter codes around the fan please? they are the 'animals' I guess, but it seems to assume a Sleep+Play favored combo is not a thing?
Does "SC/B (P)" mean a person has preference for 1. Sleep (double introvert), 2. Consume, 3. Blast and then 4. Play (double extrovert) is last or rejected?
Those are both "energy" coins, so they can't both be in your first two animals...only one...the other has to be an "information" coin, blast (putting it out) or consume (taking it in). However, it is possible for them to be your 2nd and 3rd animals. So for example, someone could be BS/P(C), Blasting all day long (but as your lead function it's almost like it's running in the background it's so automatic), very consciously toggling between Sleep and Play, and hardly getting around to Consume (and probably not even noticing or caring until the tidal wave hits).
Lily L My comment above was in response to your OP. Your comment above that about the order of animals based on the code is correct. And yes, sleep is double introvert if you mean Di+Oi, and play, is double extroverted with De+Oe. Consume = Di+Oe and Blast = Oi+De. The animal in the parentheses is what they call the "missing" animal....the one used the least. One of the key things to understand about the animals is that only your first animal contains both your saviors. Your 2nd function will then have to include one demon function; and it possible that your third animal could include both demon functions. (I incorrectly made the assumption that your last animal would be one made up of both demons, but it turns out that's not necessarily true). It's almost like your function stack comes from nature (what you are born with) and your animals stem from nurture (how you had to use your functions to cope/adapt to your environment/circumstance).
"It's almost like your function stack comes from nature (what you are born with) and your animals stem from nurture (how you had to use your functions to cope/adapt to your environment/circumstance)." Totally!
So if this hurt your head (mind chaos) then you could be an infj...or you could type as a ...human. Ugh. I don’t like too many options on the menu, Im going for quality over quantity!
I'm infj and i think it depends on me when will I use these subtype. I just know that I am capable of alternating my personality, depends on my mood. But I don't do this casually becoz first, people may think that I am so weird, and second, Most days, I'm so lazy to put some effort for myself, so I will just do what I normally do without that thinking about what should and should I not. It's so complicated but I hope you understand me. Overall, what I'm trying to say is I'm capable of doing all these things but I will just choose what I'll do becoz that's what I think and what society think that is the best and proper way to do things. I'm so complicated. Lol. HAHAHAHAHAHA

I thought I understood my type pretty well and now I am very confused... And VERY intrigued! Loved the podcast!
I love my tribe from a distance because they think I'm weird and crazy, but I will always be there for them if they ever need me.
I wish there was more information on this out tyere. I totally agree. Humans are way more complexed than 16 types. Good video.
As of an INTJ can begin to comprehend the depths of the INFJ. They come closer than most, and yet, are still, light years away…
Hey Dave, could you make a video on male/female functions please?
😳
An INFJ that doesn't use Fe and instead focuses on Ti. Ti-Se-Ni = ISTP
what you described is a Jumper ISTP. They do use Fe, just put it after the Ni. of course it exists
INFJ likely the most common temperament among us Manitoba Mennonites
Just look at the average Mennonites high standard and spiritual awake even the
guilt.
My Fe thanks you for the clarification. (I'm new to this channel.) Yeah I prefer Ti, I just didn't realize it!
it can. but what happens when you spend 95% of your time reading, playing computer games or wondering around by yourself?
Well, everyone does everything... As Shan and Dave have mentioned, anecdotally people can be typed any way they see fit... It's just that usually people are very much inclined to spend an unhealthy amount of time drilling in the same function, so much so that it starts to become a problem in their life... So the whole system is designed to be almost like a "self improvement guide" to learn how to identify what aspects of your life you're ignoring and how to deal with them
actually tho what is masculinity and femininity , he has never defined these terms in it's videos
Exactly what it sounds like.
F = more prone to 'flow' and be movable.
M = greater solidity / not as easy to move on.
it is not clear to me : at least i don't get the difference between Male and a introverted function , at least there aren't many pepole that can convience somebody to change idea on a dime , and female and a extroverted function, isn't the point of extroverted function that they change accordingly to the subjective word ,
sorry for the ignorant question i am aware of my stupidity
+P Jackson Are you in his course or something ?
Because "exactly as it sounds" isn't an assumption you should follow
Tons of people just think "Introverted = awkward/shy while Extraverted = Social Tons of people think NT are smarter than others because that T functions, but when you look at it, mbti is determined by your preferences, not competence.
Properly defining terms saves time.
I figured it was shorthand for the femme to androgynous to butch spectrum, but you're right it could mean anything...
P Jackson can you explain it further, like what does FM and MF mean?
Good Video!
Frank’s just going through a phase. He’ll snap out of it in his late 30s.
yeah if I had to guess... I’d be the Ni/Ti variety. probably equal masculine/feminine. definitely relate to NT types. and IxxP types.
32 INFJ Subtypes?!! That's almost 1 for each individual!
I believe the masculine/feminine stuff was: 1. Kinesthetic (m) vs Visual (f) and 2. Auditory (m) vs Touch (f)
This makes so much sense now. Every time I see INFJ people it still seems off. Many seem more extroverted
Yip
In my experience of knowing 4 infj's throughout my highschool years, there was 2 male and 2 female. just adding data. state your data pool?
WHERE DO I LEARN THIS STUFF PROPERLY intp here lol
Seriously my same question

Continue watching, start from INTP functions: Ti-Ne (Si is just like a memory card)
There's a course you can join on their website... if you're the joining type. 😅
Great podcast. Listened to it thrice.
I dominated in sports and I dance with way too much confidence 😏 but that's because I'm good 😂😉 one of the reasons I'm tending to trust my assessment is that I primarily consider myself in terms of my actual activities throughout life and from what others say about me (NiTi considering and valuing FeSe). your creation is very impressive ☺️ great system of classification
people often think that I'm an NT or an ENFJ before they get to know me and this totally fits.
Yeah, I found plenty of INFJs, too :D I already suspected they aren't that rare.
Shhhh don't tell them they aren't rare.
The statistics that claim is based on always were suspicious. Not replicated...
Cstank5 I think infjs can take it... those I met want to be normal :D but I really hate that he said all the other types aren't rare :( Why am I so unlike all these other people than? Tsss :D
Yeah I also don't think that they are really that rare either
You realize that humans are not evenly dispersed, right? For example you will find much more INFPs and INFJs in counselling than, lets say, ISTJs but it doesn't mean that ISTJ are more rare
Is there somewhere where I could find type info/advice/examples for the INFJ Ni/Ti SC/B(P)?
I'm hanging out for this too
Same here...
I’m looking for MM Ni/Ti SC/P(B)
This video was awesome!
Now that was cool and well atriculated and illustrated... but is any of it fact?
the complexity shown in this video just convinced me how pointless personality typing is.
At this point, might as well make 8 billion personality types
It would be useful if there were a reliable way to figure out a person's type. So far, everyone (including Jung, Myers, and Briggs) are just kinda intuiting their way through this mess. Trying to better organize what they already believe, even though everyone's ideas might not be true in the first place. I think (intuit) that it's largely on the right track, and Objective Personality is getting much closer, but who knows.
What the hell. I think my brain just exploded.
This is fkn gr8. Im such a niti
I wonder if jumpers have underdeveloped 2nd/parent function due to lack of parenting while growing up
I would like to comment some INFJ are subject to multicultural society.. where law are put in place to prioritize biased harmony.. progress is subjective to one tribe..
Anyway, good videos.. I have clearer understanding of cognitive needs..
This is valuable
Ie. If an INTJ has Fi as a second function, that means they are Ni/Fi unlike an INFJ who would be Ni/Fe
The 4 letter acronym references the function stack in this system...
O.O Never have I seen a flowchart like that, what a magnificent creation! Who made it and how old is it??
added context to whenever the information uploads into a new window. is about as equal to the trust rating of the information I have with it at same time.
Some highly intellectual psychologist or psychological genius who made the pattern after months to years of gathering info to make that flowchart.
Awesome explanation
The masculine and feminine spectrum?
That man is funny
I am totally Ni/Ti 🤣
How can we study the effects of trauma or drug use in relation to the individuals flipping of their own functions?
PepperSaltNstuff A similar question has been asked in class at one point and I think they said drug use might make their functions even more obvious, with the exception of ones that leave practically incapacitated (Obviously you can't type someone who is barely conscious and probably not saying much of anything if at all).
But to answer you question of how to study the effects---it would be to objectively type them. Then you would be able to get a clearer picture of how to they are seeing themselves as the inverse of what they really are (which is generally the case...drug use, trauma, or not).
Okay I get what you're saying. It might be cool to try typing someone while they are affected by "average" dosages of marijuana or alcohol
INFJ is 3%, so about 1/2 of what a random distribution wouldproduce, but not reallyTHAT rare, compared to the other types.
how do you determine masculine and feminine traits? Won 't lie I dont understand all the letters around the shape thing
Everyone has a cameleon phase, we ought to go out of it, except for matthias, sarry dude, gotta integrate the awesomeness ☺️
Can you guys do this for the ENFP?
Wow, I might be Ti.. I'm depressed atm lol.. mildly but with overall apathy.. but not in a toxic way but definitely in an unproductive deep down inside "shitting myself" way because I'm failing uni atm
Croiky I dont what what the hell I am
Dont u dare tell me to go to sleep thats all I've been doing it's over. Get with the program. I'm only starting
Im so fe-reakin confused!
Same here !! i know that i am an infj but didn't know about those subtypes!! i am more confused now!! is it important to dig this far? don't know!!!
You mention infj wanting to work on te briefly. What does it mean? Secondly, te is infj blind spot. How would that work?
You’re just jealous. It’s okay. It’s no picnic being this fascinating. -INFJ
Can i pay you to type me? I've been learning about this for the past few years and i always love outside analysis.
same
ENTJ
Well....that made sense :)
Can you explain more in depth how play, consume, sleep, and blast works in each type to make 32 types?
Function pairings, a perceiving function pairs with a judging function. Each type has 4 pairings, but the order may differ from person to person. Take INFJ, for example. They have Ni, Fe, Ti, and Se as their functions. These pair as Ni-Fe, Ni-Ti, Se-Fe, and Se-Ti. But the order each particular INFJ prefers each pairing (Dave calls a pairing an "Animal") varies from one to another.
So, take it step-by-step:
Blast = introverted perceiving function paired with extroverted judging function (Ni-Fe for INFJ)
Sleep = introverted perceiving function paired with introverted judging function (Ni-Ti for INFJ)
Play = extroverted perceiving function paired with extroverted judging function (Se-Fe for INFJ)
Consume = extroverted perceiving function paired with introverted judging function (Se-Ti for INFJ)
@@bumblyjack Thank you! Although Dave has discussed the theory before, it's hard to distiguish it from the knowledge I've learned by the standard MBTI.
Why introverts like to complícate things SO MUCH. I mean i am an introvert but dont like them. This is just RIDICULOUS
what in numbering scheme. Is box 1 1-32? Is it organized by Row after that. Does MM=A. If so, what does my picture fit with 42B?
this is amazing, im probably ni/ti then.
Oh lord!
Okay soooo how do I figure out where I am on this INFJ spectrum? Are there any resources, videos, etcetera that I could use?
What's the reasoning behind why you don't have Consume 1st Sleep Last (etc) infj's?
"It's almost like your function stack comes from nature (what you are born with) and your animals stem from nurture (how you had to use your functions to cope/adapt to your environment/circumstance)."
Totally!
Is there a test we can take or is it strictly we get interviewed by the "operators" and then typed?
How do I find my subtype? my testing didnt say
I typed infj since ever, then finished a business degree, now I type intj/entj all the time. What gives?
Well considering we human beings are transcendent creatures we can evolve our personality type by simply learning new skills and living more mindful.
Look at all theses healthy INFJs.. pathetic
This is all ridiculous.

Sorry to disappoint you but jumper types are not a valid type.
They are either unhealthy or a person with a more developed 3rd function than average.
They exist independent of your opinion, and I'm not even agreeing with OP. There are 4 subtypes per type.
No rare types? Okay, you lost credibility.
It's like saying in a bee colony the queen isn't rare lol. We serve different functions. Less need for so many infjs so make sense they are rare.
