For those of you watching because you want to go. YOU CAN DO THIS. But you need to show up prepared and with the right mindset. Ranger School is a marathon, not a sprint. And it will take real GRIT in order to get your Tab. 👍
Former RI. Biggest tip. Do not be intimidated. These RI’s are hard, but they don’t want you to fail. They do not want to see you mess up. They want to see you succeed. They are there to train you. And watch you execute as a Ranger should. The more Rangers. The better. This course is entirely on your motivation, preparation, and mindset leading up to and during the course. You get what you put into it. Train as hard as you can physically. Get strong, in every facet that you can. Weight lift, ruck, climb ropes (CLIMB OFTEN AND CLIMB HIGH) Know what it is to be hungry. Train during times of hunger. Know what it is to be sleep deprived. Train SUPERVISED while sleep deprived. Know what it is to be mentally at your limit. You are your own worst enemy. You will pass, if you have the confidence and preparation of a Ranger going in, and passing the course. Best of luck. Rangers Lead The Way.
To what extent does wearing the body down influence your mind? I was watching a special forces training vid and the instructors indicated that they want to wear the body down so they can test the mind.
Gureen Turee if they pass RAP week, so long as the words "I Quit" does not come out of their mouths, they are almost guaranteed to pass. listen when it's time to listen, lead when it's time to lead. treat everyone how you want to be treated and ranger school will be history.
I was just in the Army only went to a couple of additional schools while in, never did anything as difficult or approached half as difficult as Ranger school. Thank you very much for your service and pushing yourself! You guys have done excellent work and continue to do excellent work.
When I was in, I could easily pass all the requirements, but I discovered liquor and Ranger school would take away from my bar time. I once ran a "mandatory" marathon, where we didn't have to run it, but we could have the rest of the day off if we did. I think it was 12 miles or something like that, started around 0700 and I was done by before 0900, ran totally non stop too. I got my marathon t shirt and was at the bar by 1000! Those were the days! My Sgt. would get mad at me, because I would just stop when I would meet the basic requirement for push ups and sit ups, even though I could have done many more. I was a terrible soldier, LOL!
I graduated class 9-82 as a Marine and found it odd at that time, as to why there was so much sensitivity among “real” Rangers from the 75th Reg, going through Ranger school as Ranger Students. Every student was called “Ranger”; so I guess it rubbed them the wrong way. In fact many of the cadre were L.R.R.P.s or Rangers who served in Vietnam, before the activation of the 75th Ranger Regiment. If it’s such a touchy subject, maybe the Army should just discontinue the Ranger Tab and call the School something else. In the Marine Corps, from my era, you were either Recon or not. No grey areas.
Wait, so if you just keep enduring throughout the entirety of Ranger School, you'll pass? I realize it's much much easier said then done, but I thought you had to have a "go" to keep continuing each phase.
Too bad I'm 44 and can't qualify based on my age. I'd crush it. I run up mountains in Colorado to 13K and can handily do the required basics for ranger school. Anyone know if there are acceptions for age requirements if it's by 2 years?
Where the hell do they get the commentators for these videos? Jackets ,wool caps , camel backs? What the F happened to this course? Do they have time out safe spaces and cry rooms too? 1/75
do perfect pushups. which is exactly why i didnt cheat my way through actual training and used perfect posture and positioning, so I would be sure I met criteria and was able to perform as such. cheating is exactly that, cheating, and in the end cheating yourself. AND when they dont count, that was a wasted rep that couldve possibly pushed you passed 300. And these guys know the terrain, been there way longer than you and know all the tricks. And I always told people I was 92w [water treratment] for the teams when they get setup
Myles Garrett yes you can. Start getting in shape now. If this is something you’re serious about, then get into physical fitness. Make it a part of who you are. Listen to David Googins on Joe Rogan podcast. He was over 300 pounds and couldn’t run around a block. He then got himself into amazing shape and became a Navy SEAL. If you want, you gotta put in the work. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something.

It was hell in 1965. We wore our our fatigues, combat boots and patrol caps. Ran every where we went. Lead the way!
The fact they are being called ranger from the start, has to get them pumped up. I know I would be.

Exactly, that would motivate me for sure.
It does pump you up. Going through the Ranger Gate inspires you to never to quit. RLTW!
Some of them are rangers, having a ranger tap doesn't make you a ranger, being atationed at one of the ranger battilions make you ranger tap or not.
I believe that is the point
Got my Ranger tab in 98!!!
Thank you’re service

I like how he explains how they grade pushups the same way as everyone else.
I wanna go through this so bad and gain that tab!!!

Ranger School is a leadership training school. Real rangers serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment.
Ranger tab is a brotherhood which is very small not many can endure.
75th is regiment. With the Tab you are considered the Armies golden child.

Thank you!
Cool cant wait to be paralyzed by carrying a 110 pound backpack..
This makes me hungry....Hoorah!
Why do they always call them pullups? I thought palms facing away from you were pullups and facing towards you were chinups
When I get out of the Navy, Ranger school is my next stoo

Thinking about doing the same!
And just like everyone else who's made the same comment you turned out to be full of shit and hid from the youtube comment section.
My dad was with the 5th rangers during normandy invasion
Looks fun and a pretty easy entry pfa
Yeah the hardest part is the pull ups for me lmao
Rangers are awesome
So you don't have to pass this initial test to continue?
Brendan Bowman you don’t have to go to ranger school after rasp
Yes
No you definitely do now.
Yeah... No quotas... No one ever gets screwed on push ups. Ever.......
If you are not doing it right, you are doing it wrong 👍🏻🇺🇸

Did you get it or are you full of shit too?
You're not a ranger before RASP.

You can get a waiver
Is this basic training for Army Special Forces?

The only limit is your own mind.
