I found this technique of intuitive painting when I was studying for my Masters in art therapy. I am thrilled to be returning to using this technique since graduating/becoming a Mama (it's been almost a 2 year break), creating a human is the most wonderful and exhausting creation of all!

HI MsAshley! I have loved intuitive painting together with my son. I find he has a lot to teach me about working intuitively and keeping the inner critic out of the way. I hope that you find the same. Thanks so much for tuning in. XO Amy

Thank you. I am so interested in intuitive painting. I have checked out your site and have signed up for the free course "Finding your Voice". Whilst I have just listened to the first part I have found what you have had to say very informative. Thank you for sharing your gift it has been very helpful...I love the advice about it being okay to be a beginner.

I enjoyed your practices and ideas. I make dot mandalas and use this practice for my background work then prefer to dot over it with one color. I feel it makes it interesting and unique. Love how the pieces turned out.

HI Kathleen! Thank you so much! it's really about following your impulses. The more art you do, the easier it is to "hear" those impulses. My class Fluid Art can also give a good intro into the process. If that piques your interest, you can find out more here: mindfulartstudio.com/fluid-art/ xo Amy

HI Christine! I'm thrilled that it spoke to you! I use a hole punch to cut the circles. I teach the whole process in a class called Fluid Art. You can learn more about it and also find the supply list with links here: mindfulartstudio.com/fluid-art/

This video was extremely helpful! I really enjoy watching artists work. I love the moments when I think, " Cool, I never thought of doing that! I can't wait to try it." I had that when I watched you use the handle of your paint brush to spread the line of paint. Your comment about being mindful not excluding awareness of artistic principles was also an "ah- ha" moment. Thank you for all of your inspiration and encouragement.

JaNaye - I SO appreciate knowing that I've hit the mark for you! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know. It's great that I was able to open up the door for you to have a more nuanced idea of mindful art as well. YAY. Happy creating at the end of 2017!! :) Cheers!

I didn’t know ink would show through like that. So cool! Was it a white gel pen?

Why paint in a book instead of on a sheet of paper that can later be framed and displayed?

Judi Lynn it’s just a different medium in which to work Judi. Book art is very personal and lovely and just different. Thanks for watching! Xo

May I ask what you used to brush over the white writing, prior to adding reddish paint. Was it gel medium or gesso?
