You LA old timers have the best cop stories. Had the chance to take some classes from LAPD and LACSO cops from the 80s. Had us in stitches. Worked with an old LAPD cop from the 70s. Backed me up on a pursuit and a shooting, I missed sorry. I was relieved he was my backup. You guys rock.
Very entertaining video ! Sir, You were most likely in Oro Grande. An un-incorporated area immediately north of Victorville CA. There is a large cement plant that would pass for a power station and railroad trestle adjacent to the plant. There is a small private air-strip adjacent to the SB15 FWY. All of this within a one mile radius
I love hearing cop stories. That many members of LAPD SWAT got their comeuppance from a reserve deputy in the boonies is fantastic. More, please, soonest.
I don't know why this story made me think of this, but does anyone remember the NY State Prison inmates who escaped a couple years ago, aided by a female Correctional Officer? They even made a tv show about it. Anywho, every Cop and his Reserve Officer cousin went to look for these guys and guess who found them? A Border Patrol Tactical Team! The suspects were hiding in the woods but the wilderness is the BP's backyard! The right team for the right environment! Lol
Simplex works anywhere. You can take your Motorola MX 350s (then, they're Sabers now) and jump out of a plane in Antarctica and you'll have direct comms. This comment will be deleted just like my last one, putting Jablonski at Rampart in '79/'79 rather than Wilshire.

The real Dirty Harry. Uncle Scotty stories are badass.

these stories are gold….. looking forward to more to come, hopefully!
Love your stories Uncle Scotty … reminds me of the old adage “Never go off the Reservation” 😂lol
Haha, I laid out in that desert for hours behind my .308
That’s a great story Uncle Scotty. Thank You for sharing.

@8:00 when he said "Where are they going to go in the Desert."
*Me with my father a BPA* Oooooooh buddy, you're gunna find out.
Awesome!
Uncle Scotty, how does Ludlow, CA sound?
Boron Ca ?
Scotty reminds me of Sgt. Barnes. Platoon
That's how it works!
So what you are saying about LA PD is what people would suspect about LA PD DESERT operations.
I can imagine any Department in that pickle
Man, I bet their soles looked like hamburger meat by the time they turned themselves in.
How did the LAPD have jurisdiction over a scene so far beyond the city limits?
Cops in CA are considered "CA Peace Officers" and have Peace Officer authority State wide.
LAPD Sounds like the Marine Corps
