John is amazing! The man was nice enough to send me an autographed copy of one of his books to me at my old job. It's one of my most cherished books. He's such an incredible human being. I don't think the younger generation truly understands the debt of gratitude that we owe this man for having the courage to do the right thing when the most powerful parts of the government wanted to keep doing the opposite. He truly needs to be in our history books.
I think John Kiriakou is the most interesting guest I've ever seen or heard on any podcast. He can make a 3 hour podcast go by in a blink of an eye. He has such a soft spoken, honest demeanor that can win you over quickly. Then you remember he's a trained spy and assassin that also had the balls to go against the CIA, FBI, president and expose them for being liars. John has had an amazing life.

Loved the reference about that, and that's so funny how he talked about MI-6 guys randomly popping up while at some undercover dinner party or something. "Hello John!" Love this show, I've done shop potatoes but grew them vertically in one of those tarp pots you roll up as you go maybe got 3x that amount of potatoes in Scotland was well pleased. You can definitely grow from shop bought potatoes
John really is a top story teller of all time. I always try hard to determine truth from fiction with him just because some of his stories can seem quite fanciful. Having said that he is a very likeable guy and very entertaining and knowledgeable.

I’m waiting on pins and needles for the rest of the interview with John! I really love this guy! I’m a few years older than him and I spent from ‘79-‘88 in the USAF and spent 5 years in England total and my life was boring compared to his, (and it really wasn’t boring), and I had no clue about some of the stuff happening in the world. Of course I was also pretty busy trying to raise my two children then trying to get sober, which I did in late ‘89, and transition from active duty to civilian life on my own as a single mom. I really hope President Trump gives him a pardon if sleepy joe doesn’t do it. This man is a true patriot. Much respect to him!

Kuwait increased their oil production during the eighties, which decreased the price of oil, and Syria shut down Iraq's westbound pipeline in support of Iran -- all of which made it harder for Iraq to pay those debts off. Then April Glaspie. Then know that Iraq was actually more democratic than Kuwait, which required a lineage in country for citizenship. Meaning that the royalty skipped town and no one cared enough to defend anything.

Kiriakou's Iraq insights were excellent. The fact that some gov folks ideologically wish war on countries without thinking twice about real world effects is astoundingly absurd. Keep fighting the good fight peeps, america doesn't need war to be a great country.
I have been to that Castle in Yalta where all of that stuff went down! Its an amazingly beautiful location. Its basically a museum and they have Plaques describing everything. Lots of funny local knowledge on it too when you talk to people.
