To put it another way: Why buy just an EV when you can buy a Tesla!
Another detail that seems odd in the article, is that the Tesla MSRP is “coming soon.” You can get Tesla pricing online anytime. I think the issue is that Tesla is perceived by the general public to be a luxury brand like Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Audi and many more unfortunately. So if Tesla makes a car that really isn't a luxury car, doesn't matter because of brand recognition.
This is the most ridiculous news I have seen. I have a Model Y and a Bolt EUV (both 2023). I can tell you which one is the better vehicle by a mile. Now that the Model Y can be had for less then $40k, it is nuts that it would not be found in a list of the best EVs.

This is what all car manufacturers should be evaluated on , not just looks and ride or status. It seems that gullibility and status always wins out when people the world over buy a car.
Honestly I don't feel that hinging this whole argument on the starting prices makes for a strong case against their ranking. Maybe their entire goal was to use each car once on every category, so that because Tesla got into luxury category it can't go into "best car" one...
