As a Black American, for the life of me I can't understand why he said that he wants to be American. It's like, dude! You are an original member of the Motherland! The cradle of civilization. If I weren't American, I honestly don't think I could say what he did.
Nigga is effed up, that's why.
He talk about Hip Hop America, not a country. He's talking about the birthplace of Hip Hop, the land of the legends. He want to be in the same platform as Kanye, Jay Z'S of this world. He's not talking about the world of Trump and KKK's, dont confuse the two.
African Gospel, I guess.
You will not understand because you are American already.
Big ups Cassper. As a South African, I am super proud of you. You did it!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I like how both him and AKA said they are number 1 in South Africa
Even under all that pressure, dude picked himself up and finished his flow. That is beyond music, that shows character...the deliverance is on point... Whenever we think he is done, he raises the bar... #ProudlySouthAfrica Keep pushing sexy chubby nigga

Cassper Nyovest! I feel represented not only as a South African but as an African too! Real show it was! Big up to Cass and Sway! #BlessUp
Dope interview Sway.Thank you for opening the doors so more South African artists can get a chance to represent.
He never said anything bad about anyone ..he is sooo good
Daaaaamn, that's some serious #AfricanHipHop representation right there. Big up Cassper, keep representing #Africa #HipHop #Freestyle
Word...I watched this the first time and switched to another video after about 30 seconds. Thought Cassper was going to mess it up but i came back and gave the interview a genuine listen and wow...I'm impressed. Thank you for representing African hip-hop, Cassper.
Wow, wow, wow. That freestyle from Cassper though! The best I have heard from him lyrically in a while😲👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

You made S.A proud Cass! Big Up! You keep inspiring us man.
It's cool to see someone from another country talk about what Hip-hop means to the people there. Thanks Sway In The Morning!
Cassper 🙌🙌🙌representing South Africa
I think I lot of people were expecting Cassper to be a Tumi Molekane on that show, he makes bubble gum music, what did y'all expect maar, for him to talk about kunta kinte? Come on guys, his made his name from a pharrel song.. He did well for his type of hip-hop.
lol true, people expect too much from someone like him
Well done Cassper that was beautiful interview and you nailed that rap bro!! 👌👌👌👌
The beat, the switch on the tone when you were rapping about the pressure on your shoulders... You went iiiiiiin bro. Shout out bro.
Cassper is the best, the best always lead the pack...
Nasty C is actually the best rapper in South Africa right now.. but anyway big ups to Cassper for opening doors.
You're right, Prince... Nasty C is damn dope!!!
nasty C is coming for u
Nasty C has poor lyrical projection. He is too fast and you can't figure out what is he trying to say.
If you listen to nasty c music all the time you'll notice he uses the same content on his lyrics .
lol haaaahahahahah, well , dont expose yourself my friend, we call ppl like you, "HATERS", Straight, why would you hate on nasty C, the guy was called by Rock Nation, ayyy, some ppl
africa stand up, first time i feel proud of being a south african
Shout to you Cassper doing yourself proud and also us back home. Keep on
Freestyle at 39:40
Thanks. 2 minutes in I realized I wasn't going to have the patience

shmmm!!

FACTS!!!
I agree with you George Themba Khumalo dahmm your name is long but i do agree with you Casper is too self acclaimed and also proud but i just love his moving to a greater height aafter i listen to his track called America
No one asked you. Keep your 2 cents.
thats da biggest move bro and thank u for opening a way for us young rappers
I live like a sinner bt m blessed like a pastor 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💣💣💣💣

Bruh! Just watch that.
I'm hoping someone goes on The Breakfast Club too tho
*watched
Enjoy Trevor's interview. He's a smart guy....
im gon watch now thanks to this comment
He killed it, they gonna hate it anyway
Well done Cassper!!! Tight verse. Proudly South African.
Wow, I really felt his soul in his bars. I genuinely like this guy. God Bless him.
That's why when AKA goes to Sway, South Africans will be proud of his interview because he'll literally lift up our Flag, no. 2 he'll tell them more about South African hip hop.
yes Mah nigga and to these haters phumakim
shut out to you my ninja you makes us proud of you as south africans . keep on going dude i salute you
There was no way he was ever gonna impress everyone. Well done Cassper Nyovest!
This a proud moment for Africa, particular black Kids.
It's ironic how people label nasty C a guy with two hits to be the hottest right now. Okay! it's debatable, but then u turn and say Cassper wants to be American when Nasty C cant even rap in an African language or sound like an African artist. Many of u guys are hypocrites and bandwagoners calm yourselves. All these guys are doing great. Support them with your wallets not your Envy.
Dankie Casper for rep. We appreciate it more than you know.
Well done Cassper! Didn't disappoint. Freestyle was sick...
This is just an embarrassment. We don't want to be American. We want to tell our own story through Hip Hop. Artists like these do not progress the culture, they keep it stagnant. Sway tried to get Cassper to talk purely about the South African rap game without any mention of America. He failed to detail important aspects such as how Hip Hop has shaped the consciousness of most of South African youth.
L
Saw this interview and I'm proud of him but he rapped us all wrong , he sounded so nervous
Consciousness is not an abstract thing.....it has context and in South Africa's reality....unemployment is a big problem. Despite his academic shortfalls, Cassper has used his musical talents to employ himself and turn his name into a business brand (music, clothing, endorsement deals, etc) which is respected globally. He is an inspiration to African kids through his music, business mind and overall resilient spirit that always strives to be heared and paid at that. His content represents his personality, his reality and vision....its not imprisoned by your biasness.
True bro he didn't define how truly SA Hip Hop Culture emerged n wats it about
My Guy you just took the words right out my mouth like?
I just wanna know why his accent changed 😩 i cannot!
hahaha he wants to be American nje...
Happens to most of them 😳🙄😂
LOL, was bout to say, that twang is contagious... i guess
hai guys its annoying 😑
based on experience i know Americans typically struggle to understand our accent so when on their radio station it only normal to speak so they can clearly understand you
Watching the video for the 3rd time. There is absolutely nothing that I, as a South African (and HipHop fan), can fault on this. Shout out to Cassper, AKA, Black Coffee and everybody that continues to break barriers for South African music. That freestyle was stupendous!!! I BOW TO THIS MAN!!!!
bow down to Cassper proudly SOUTH AFRICAN!! IM PROUD
I'm the one that called him Kanye West, twice, that's why he said "They"
Leave your insults below this.
u r an insult to yourself look at u, u would run from u😕
+Oyame Tshabe hahaha, savage!
We have no problem calling himself Kanye but he just gotta exclude us
😂😂😂 Right
Good thing for our South African Hip Hop, even though Cassper ain't my favorite artist, though I support him. South African Hip Hop is growing globally now, slowly but surely we'll get there.
nyovest is the man, inspire me in every kinda way
He talks about Hip Hop America, not a country. He's talking about the birthplace of Hip Hop, the land of the legends. He want to be in the same platform as Kanye, Jay Z'S of this world. He's not talking about the world of Trump and KKK's, the racist, mass murders, corrupt, world police, terrorists, bully America.Hes talking about Black America.
i love cassper but you failed us . . . how is america home??? how????!!!!i totally respect A.K.A's interview . . . like i officially get where AKA comes from now
This is a hate it or love it moment. When its all said and done. Fact is, Cassper was on Sway, representing in the manner that he thought best. Dreams are possible, that is all that matters.
this guy misrepresented us on 1 huge HIPHOP platform.
Cassper, stop. Please just stop... WHO wants to be American? Man, knock it off. Be yourself, fly your own flag. Americans aren't going to accept you or respect you just because you say you "want to be American". Get off your knees.
Yo HHP, wamo tseba mtho??
Preach!
Haleluah
Thank you!
leave him alone,if you keep talking like that you will never be on that seat.
Kholofelo Lot
Really?? Do you hear yourself? So we should deny our heritage and be bootlickers just so we can "be on that seat"?
No thanks. I'm proud to be African and I'd rather keep my self-respect.
You, on the other hand, sound like the type to wish for colonial days again.
This guy is liar, house is big in SA, not Hip Hop.
That was on fire ...Cassper God dame!
I'm from America but live in Botswana......CONGRATS CASS!!!! OPEN THE FLOOD GATES!!! I EFFS WITH THIS BROTHER RIGHT HERE.
lol
I live life a sinner but am blessed like a pastor!!! Thank you Cass u did it for South Africa

It's getting cold in Africa cause Cassper had the continent on his shoulders and he dropped nothing but heat. Respect.

But the respect I have for Sway, this guy has BEEN doing great for HipHop man.
Damn,Cass,I was not ready for this, especially after the hate you got out of Tim's interview, you went to Sway prepared, big up,I am a proud fan,big up Cass!
BIG UP- PROUD MOMENT RIGHT NOW-- THANK YOU BROTHER ..
Great interview on many levels. Much as Cassper is African...he should not be boxed and stereotyped. He represent in some ways Africa and in some ways he's individual experience, dreams and personality. I can relate to an artist like him. One of the biggest problems facing South Africa is unemployment and Cassper is a living example of a young South African who rose above the economic reality and used his talents to create an independent music venture that has givine hope to other young South Africans like Tshego, Nadia, Major League DJs. S/O to Cassper....the Fresh Prince of Maftown. Motswako-Nation for life.
thank you Cass for representing S.A and bring honest!big ups!
