That opening cinematic in front of the mirror will forever be seared into my brain. I remember it so well because it was the first time I played a game that I genuinely couldn't tell the difference between the cut scenes and the actual gameplay. I stood in front of that mirror for a solid minute like a complete idiot thinking my game had froze. 😅 Can't believe how much has changed from those old school PS2 days. It's excellent this generation of younger people get to experience these survival horror games and I get to play new versions of them too. All we need now is Dino Crisis and the trifecta is complete!

I’m so excited!! I actually cried a little when I saw this trailer for the first time because it meant it wasn’t just a rumour anymore lol it looks like they’ll be true to the story too which is brilliant, it’s easily one of my favourite games ever and the best in the series. Can’t wait to see what the other releases are going to be like too, silent hill F and Townfall!

I can recall when this game was initially released and I didn't try it, even during the period when it was popular among others and I still refrained from playing. I vividly enjoyed viewing playthroughs of the game, all the while pondering why I never felt the need to experience it myself. Now that they've created a remake, I'm filled with excitement and joy, looking forward to once again not playing this version too.

Let's hope there's no bloopers in the game. Bloober team have no experience with combat mechanics though, they're great at producing spooky environments though. I hope it's a success because i love the original.
The medium has me worried extremely like if they can just keep everything form the old game and just work on that stuff then it'll be a good and decent story but if they start changing everything it's going to fail as a remake
@@TheMoon12390 Masahiro Ito (the guy who designed the monsters in the original and was a big part of team silent) is the director for the combat in this remake. I have faith it’ll be good. Bloober is very good at atmosphere. All they need to do is keep the story the same, let Masahiro Ito design the combat and I think we will have a solid remake. Fingers crossed.
My immediate concern is that the characters will all speak like James does in this trailer, like he's in a movie trailer. The original game was great in part because of the characters all speaking like they're in a dream or a David Lynch movie. Everything about the way they act, speak etc is just a little off. Hopefully it's just for the trailers to get more people interested. My other concern is obviously that Konami have entrusted Bloober to remake one of the greatest games, stories, worlds ever.

I think they way they did his eyes makes him look goofy. The whole point to James character is that he's experienced hardship by losing his wife to her illness. Making his eyes rounded makes him look like he hasn't seen or experienced shit. It just comes off like he's pure and innocent from the mere shape of his eyes. I feel like his eyes should be narrow and serious to show that not only has he overcome his struggles in his life but that he's grown.
They are too high up in his head. They need to be lower, original James's eyes were kinda shady, beady, sunken. They should just keep his exact look from the original it's perfect.
SH2 is my fav game of all time. I can find nothing bad to say about this project from the trailer. This couldn't have been done any better imo. I won't play it because i don't own a new console and haven't for a long time, but i gotta say it looks amazingly well done.

Silent hill 2 is good just because its the only silent hill Town version which want to punish you for your sins. In SH1,3,4,5,6 All silent hills have different meanings. Just in 2nd silent hill the town want to fuck u up because of main character sins. That is good because of that template of story, u can identify yourself with main character. You can write your own story into the template of SH2, and feel it from the inside. Thats why Silent hill 2 is considered as the best of its own
James is the one who is making the game like that. That is his silent hill. It's also why SH2 is the only game that has sexy nurses. James was sexually frustrated.
eh i think sh1 deserves it tbh...since the 3 games prior to this aged like fine wine and still hold up. Mostly because the graphics are very polygonal and the mechanics were a bit wonky back then and is in desperate need of being repolished.
Definitely! My second favourite even though I know a lot of SH fans don't like it. It creeped me out more than any of the other SH games when I was a kid which is why I think it's a favourite. It left a lasting impression on me. I think 1-4 should all be remade (if 2 is done well that is)

I'm not confident bloober can pull it off. The characters are a bit exaggerated, like they need to show expression from far away, except they're super close. James is a bit too conscious about his own feelings instead of just being apathetic with a twinge of sadness and a serious lack of care whether he dies or not. It could be good, but knowing Bloober I fear what they will do to Eddie and Angela.

This is why one of the enemy types is nurse, which represented James sexual lust for the nurse attending his wife (forgot her name tbh). I am actually thinking of replaying this series, at least SH1-SH4, but I've heard that HD edition was godawful and they botched it, which is why I am kinda concerned there's a chance they f-up this remake as well. I really hope it gets Dead Space or RE2 treatment instead of you know, WC3:Refunded.
@@njmfff well most of the themes are about sex that's certain. and most of the memorable designs and scary moments in this game revolves around those themes (the pyramid head scene, the mannequin and angela's monster design, eddie killing a dog for no reason etc. they're gonna piss off a lot of fans if they change these things for the sake of conforming to the cancel culture, mark my word.

The original SH2 was a great game. All Konami has to do is recreate the same game with some quality of life upgrades and it will be just as great. Please don't muck this up, Konami!

we waited long enough for either a new Silent Hill game or a remake, as much as i would love to see the first one get a remake, but the second one i found was way scarier, creepy and disturbing, the way Silent Hill remains to be, let's hope they raise the intensity level up a notch for the best Silent Hill experience ever

Silent hill 2 is not connected to 1 at all, so no worry.

Man.. SH2 was my first foray into gaming and created my love for gaming. However.. this.. I wanna be excited about it. I’m just not. Graphics? Love it. Music. Love! The voices? HATE! Omfg. Could they have gotten sleepier people? I understand it’s supposed to be a depressing game but Guy and Monica made the original work.
