Excellent playing and excellent demo. I know the Shift Line Olympic gets a lot of love , the Flex seems perfect for when you just want a good, solid bass sound in any situation without a lot of mucking around.
Thanks Theo! Spot-on.
Great demo.I love the B-15 characteristics I can get.But it does more.
Yes, I really like the “fender” mid cut sound too…
Man great review! You really know how to do It 👏👏
Thanks!
Just discovered this channel, very cool!
Welcome!
sold!
Cool demo as usual!!
✌🏻
I ordered one 4 months ago but the Ukraine situation and the Russian Post have coupled to stall it's delivery.Oleg at Shiftline has bent over backwards to help and offered a couple of alternative solutions so it'd be my luck to change tactics and it'll show up.
Yeah… it sucks that regular commerce is being dragged into this conflict. Hope you get it soon, let us know!!!
Very nice review for this amazing pedal. ;-) Are you from France or Belgium ?
Thank you! Nah, close enough though… I’m from the Netherlands, with French education and live in Spain since 1999… 😅
@@thewetterbass I understand, Sorry I was a bit curious because your first name. ;-)
@@jonathanchevallier7046Hey no problem at all my friend!!!
What is the differences between The A+ Flex and the Olympic from Shift Line? Is it just the cabsim or more?
Different design. The Olympic has IRs yes, and pretends to be an amp substitute (nice for going ampless on stage or studio), whereas the Flex is like the DI out of a bass head. Very nice natural tones. You can plug directly into a bass amp and/or, if recording, use plugins of cab sims in post production.
@@thewetterbass Thanks for the answer. What is the difference between in sound without IR / the cabsim included in the comparison? 🙂 Does the A+ Flex also have the tube like compression above a certain gain level?
Cab sim usually dampens treble slightly and gives the impression of a space or room. Without it, the sound is not as colored and somewhat clearer especially in the highs, where there’s a bit more presence. BUT, if you place a mic close to a horn or tweeter of your “real” cab, you can get more or less the same results. That is not the common thing to do and most cab sims tends to favor mid to low frequencies. So that’s basically what the cab sim does: it makes the bass sit better in a mix with a particular color. But if you want to work on you sound in post production, having a DI signal without cab sim is the better option.
Great video. To be clear on why this pedal is difficult to come by is that the 12AX7 tube is manufactured in Russia I believe.
Because of this senseless war, Russian goods are being sanctioned.
Thanks! Yep. Actually the pedal is made in St Petersburg…
"Still nothing like what the people in Ukraine are going through"
Which is in turn nothing like what Ukraine regime were putting the people of Donbass through since 2014. So probably it's a bad idea to compare and turn it into a competition for who's the biggest victim?
In the end, all kinds of conflicts or wars are dreadful. Sorry if I offended you, it was never my intention. Hope you liked the sound of the pedal though, which this video is all about ☺️.
Let them eat bass preamps
Yeah! 😂😂😂🤘🏻
