While this is my favorite show and I love both Endora and Darrin’s chemistry. I always believed you should love a person as they are faults, quirks and all.

Bigotry and misogyny
It's a very good point- Endora always had such an excellent reason to dislike Darrin's disapproval of magic. After all, Samantha is a witch- it's like marrying someone and not accepting what they are at all and asking them to conform to what makes you comfortable just because it's difficult for you. Never liked that about Darrin- very backwards logic. Mind you, Dick York was an AMAZING actor. His inflections and everything were so on point- great talent. He and Agnes Moorehead were very good friends.

Dick York was great at acting and is always fun and interesting to watch. His chemistry between Elizabeth and Endora was a perfect match. Dick Sargent always seemed angry and mean lol.

I think she intentionally misprounced his name. She called him Darwin and Maurice called him Dustbin.
She actually did 2 or 3 times only. They had few tender mother in law/ son in law moments but very very few. Lol
Agnes Moorehead was good friends with Dick York and was saddened that he was too sick to continue. She did not care for Dick Sargent.

I agree totally. It makes me feel like how could he really truly love Samantha, because he will not except her for who she is. I realize it’s just a TV show, but it would’ve been neat if they would’ve had a different reason that he did not want her to use her witchcraft. They should’ve done something like, make it to where it was due to his job or something…..

Darren and Endora hated each other but there was a great comedic chemistry that made the show funnier than it would've been without it. Dick York and Agnes Moorehead were a great pairing.

I a,ways thought that it was terribly unrealistic, how Darrin was so against Samantha using her powers! If my spouse could shake his nose, and give me whatever I want.. Well. I'd probably have to come up with more and more ridiculously creative and opulent things to avoid getting bored with life! But that'd be the only real issue with it!

I LOVE Sam's push back against Darrin's stereotypical insults leveled at her mother, even before he'd met her. What she says about judging people is why I love Samantha and Elizabeth so much. A lot of tiems an actor is the character they portray in the eyes of their fans. If Samantha existed and stood next to Elizabeth, at the time, one could not tell them apart. I'm not talking appearance, i'm speaking of personality. Liz's character is who she was in real life, loving and caring, a person who defended what she beloved in and helping others, just as Sam did.
Maybe this is a little deep but, this is why, I think, one reason why BEWITCHED is beloved across generations.
Samantha IS Elizabeth.
This is also one reason why Elizabeth Montgomery wanted to move on to do more dramatic roles. She succeeded beautifully.
To wrap this up. Sony is in the process of preparing to produce a movie that follows on right after the end of the series, unlike the 2005 movie.
They hated each other from GRT go which is the norm for son in law and mother in law and their hatred is so fun to watch lol. But I agree Elizabeth brought so much of herself to the role of Samantha which made the character and actress so iconic.
Endora looks so elegant and beautiful when Darrin and her first meet.
If Darren haven't flew off the handle at the least little thing and started screaming Endora wouldn't have been changing him into things. If I was a warlock and someone started screaming at me and verbally abusing me I would do the same thing Endora did.

I love the acting going on when Darrin meets Endora at the door. She's proud, regal, and very vulnerable. I think she's frightened of losing Samantha, and what this decision will mean for her. He goes from bluster to dealing with it in zero sixty.

I get the impression Endora's disdain for Darrin is less her not approving his relationship with Sam and more of attachments to mortals like she doesn't want Sam to experience heartbreak for the rest of eternity.

Endora is by far the more likeable character. Darrin is a small-minded male chauvinist who will not accept Samantha for what she is, and who refuses to appreciate how lucky he is for having such an extraordinary wife. Endora is mostly just sticking up for her daughter.
I’m always on Endora’s side since I find it hills just watching her pull a series of magical pranks on Darrin like he did in the second segment of this video. 😂

I love the way they did this, when he opened the door. Agnes perfectly captured a brief moment of vulnerability in that moment. It was moving.
Then comes the moment, when a great Shakespearean actress, and a powerful witch, issues a warning to her new son in law, to beware... Priceless.
I love the scene in the hospital when Sam was giving birth, when Endora and Darren got so emotional, they cry, and share a moment of truce with each other.

I actually think it is a shame Darren seemed to reject Samantha's family and their talents- although Endora could have eased off for sure, it would have been interesting to see more of them connecting over time and learning to accept each other, then again I haven't watched the series in years. 😅
