I'm guessing Russian 🤔 definitely something to consider when looking for an apartment from my experience they are intense people. Best to be there in person have a good look around before you commit to 12 months
What’s great rental house James and his toys! Great taste in bikes and the car mate! At A$400 a week that is awesome and James would know you cannot get anything that cheap in Oz for that - impossible. A one bedroom unit is A$500-A$700 a week.
Cannot wait to get over from Oz to visit for the first time and explore what Thailand has on offer.

$1100 with paid pool and lawn services for this kind of a spacious house is certainly a great deal. If you see from other angle, its just few hundred dollars more than a 2 bedroom beach front condo. Very interesting option, if one is willing to be 10 minutes drive away from beach.

Great place. Different bikes for different styles of riding, I understand perfectly why! I enjoy getting around everywhere here in Thailand on my Honda CRF300L, but I wish I had my other bikes in the states with me here sometimes for the different options of riding styles.

Savage. Best of luck James. On the condo issue, it’s my biggest worry moving to Thailand. I wonder are there condos around that are strictly lived in by retired folk and not family’s with kids or pets?
Not that I’ve seen yet. Our condo complex does not allow pets. Many expats from our channel live here. 👍❤️👍
Back here (stuck!) in the States, I've been looking at apartments online, and was pleased to find a 1 BR awhile ago for *only* $1,400/mo. USD!! They were saying on local news this morning that rental prices are going down!! True enough, because that was less than what I've been seeing, and this was a nice area backing up to a golf course.
So there's a comparison for ya! 👀🤔🤷

😂 certain nationality in that building, I know what you're talking about, my guess you're talking about Russians! I find a shocking and amazing that I left that building for the same reason. I moved to another apartment, but it's really the same problem. Now I'm looking for a house to rent. Happy to see this video, that someone thinks the same way I do. Getting a house to rent makes a lot of sense since it costs about the same as renting an apartment.

Looks like James has picked himself up a nice place to live - plus all that room to knock around in so I'm guessing it's great for hosting parties when he invites the mates around.
The rental cost seems reasonable to me considering he's got a 3 bed detached house in a quiet neighbourhood with a pool, plus including a gardener and a pool guy included in the price!! Do you know if James negotiated that as a 12 month contract for that price and did he have to pay upfront?

How much will it be next year? Will it double? It appears to me that rent is almost always half of the price of the house or condo. For example, this house is $200,000.00. Take a 30 years or 360 divided by 200K this would be $550.00 double that and that is the rent.

I heard him say that at the end, but it sounded like he had a problem with a particular resident/nationality! It’s just I’ve been told by quite a few people that the other residents always cause problems in the riviera buildings
Seems like a fantastic deal but everything sounds cheap to me. Living on Kauai where rents are sky high. A studio in the mountains rents for $2500 usd plus utilities averaging $300.

In regards to buying is a villa the better purchase compared to a condo? As a foreigner of course.
Size wise yes. You can buy a nice pool villa for 7.5 million baht and lease the land for 30 years renewable twice for a total of 90 years. And sell it to a foreigner and they can repeat then process. Win win 👍
Motorcross bike, not a trials bike here in the UK. A trials bike is much different to that

yeah, that struck me as odd also. plus, he said he was having a problem with a certain demographic of people. When I saw his bike collection and demeanor. I was thinking that maybe they were not the problem.
James loves his bikes. He had the harley too but he sold it and bought the ducatti. He is just a bike lover. Everybody has their own hobby and collection. 👍♥️👍
One bike is for off road which he loves.
The other one is for a long tour which they do very often for couple of days.
Other one is for short ride around the area.
To make a story short, certain specs on certain uses 😉
FYI. He belongs to a bike club.

Foreigner can own the house not the land. So we buy the house and lease the land for 30 years and we can renew that for a total of 90 years and then sell to another foreigner and they can repeat the process. So it is a great way to own your own home in Thailand and 100% Legal 👍❤️👍
