  • Today we are showing you how simple it can be to change out the spark plugs in your Hyundai Elantra Sport. This one has a tuned ECU, intake, BOV and soon a Upgraded intercooler kit form Sxth Element. We installed HKS M45XL Spark Plugs. at a NGK Heat Range 9 equivalent, these plugs will ensure there is less heat when you are making more power to run with the tune that is on the car. start to finish this only takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Torque spec for the spark plugs? And for the bolts (10mm socket) holding on the ignition coils?

Do you need to change the coil packs when changing to the new spark plugs ? Or is it fine with the same coil packs if they still are pretty new

No risk at all. Should definitely add.

No catch cans on this one at least not yet. We definitly recommend running them tho. Especially on the direct injection motors. Good luck with yours!

What did you brush on the threads, what is the torque, and did you check the spacing?

    Are OEM spark plugs required?

No just a quality brand plug. These ones were replaced with a lower heat range plug because of the tune setup.

Are there cheaper plugs that are step colder than oem? $135 is freaking ridiculous. I have NGK +1 colder plugs for my 400hp mazdaspeed3, and they cost $11 each...

What's the recommended gap on those?
