Nélson de Jesus Silva, better known simply as Dida, is a retired Brazilian football goalkeeper. After starting his senior club career in Brazil in the early 1990s with Vitória, Dida became a penalty kick-saving specialist with Cruzeiro and Corinthians. He is perhaps best remembered for his successful and often tumultuous ten-year stint with Milan from 2000 to 2010, where he established himself as one of the world's best goalkeepers due to his shot-stopping ability and command of the area; he won multiple trophies and individual awards with the club, but became equally known for his propensity for errors as well as his excellent gameplay, while he gained media attention in 2005 for being hit by a lit flare during a match against crosstown rivals Internazionale.
Dida won one Serie A title (Scudetto) and twice the UEFA Champions League with Milan, with the first of those victories coming after he saved three penalties in the 2003 final against Serie A rivals Juventus. One of four Rossoneri goalies with over 300 total career appearances, Dida was inducted into Milan's Hall of Fame in 2014, and has joined other former club players for various off-pitch events and exhibition matches following his 2010 departure. After a two-year absence from playing, he returned to Brazil in 2012, suiting up for three teams-Portuguesa, Grêmio and Internacional-in as many seasons.

Never was there a goalkeeper with better positioning in my 40 years of watching Milan, and football in general. At his best, Dida was a colossus.
His positioning, reflexes and a reliable penalty saver made him a firm Milan legend

I'M From America the guy was second best behind Kahn in 2002 World Cup who was in the form of his life and was crucial in the UCL he won with Milan. The amount of contribution he us really underrated.

Cris michel he was the starting GK until the semis where he was injured.
Lord Giroud he did, he was back up until injury to Marcos and from then on he was performing which made him on of the candidate for the tournament’s All Stars and World xi.

Tecnicamente Dida é o melhor goleiro já surgido no futebol brasileiro, mas por ficar uma década fora do futebol nacional não tem a idolatria do Marcos no Palmeiras, Rogério no São Paulo, Cássio no Corinthians.
Amigo, a defesa 8:38 o Rogério nao faria nem nos melhores dias dele pq exige alem de explosao e velocidade, envergadura. Talvez o Marcos catasse aquela bola, mas isso eu digo pela minha memoria afetiva do Marcão.

Ele não tem idolatria em times nacionais mas é reconhecido mundialmente, e isso vale muito mais. Os únicos goleiros brasileiros que vejo os gringos idolatrar são o Dida e o Alisson, eu nunca vi uma única menção ao Marcos sequer apesar dele ter sido o titular de 2002, e os gringos adoram reverenciar a seleção daquele ano.
O Ceni só é mais ou menos conhecido porque eles param pra pesquisar quem é o goleiro que fez mais gols mas nem assim ele tem muito reconhecimento, MUITA GENTE ainda acha que é o Chillavert e é ele quem tem esse rótulo mundo à fora.
Pra você ter uma noção, o goleiro da Nigéria, Enyeama, também é um "goleiro artilheiro" porque ele bate pênaltis. Na Copa do Mundo no Brasil, perguntaram a ele se ele se inspira no Rogério Ceni e ele disse que nunca ouviu falar e que sua inspiração é o Chillavert. Isso já em 2014, com o paraguaio já aposentado e o Ceni há muito tempo como maior goleiro artilheiro do mundo.
Gente que acha que alguém no exterior liga pro Mundial ou praqueles jogos contra Liverpool e Chelsea está iludida, é jogar em gigantes europeus que te projeta mundialmente e te dá reconhecimento.

Probably because he's not a very media guy, he doesn't like to do a lot of interviews, it's more serious... So people (especially the younger ones) they don't know him, so he ends up being rarely mentioned.

Na minha opinião, o Cássio é o maior goleiro da história do Corinthians, pela sua técnica, tempo de casa, e muitos títulos. Mas tecnicamente falando, o Dida foi o melhor que vi, pena que ficou pouco tempo no Corinthians.
