It's hard not to cry when you hear this song, it marked my life in so many ways, my dad is still with me and now everything is OK, the hard days trying for our characters to find a middle point are finally gone. He is my DAD but mostly my friend.
This was my first PJ concert, and they opened with this, the one I needed to hear. Brought tears to my eyes..cheers to you Ed, Jeff, Mike, Stone, Matt, and Boom...you all have done more than you will ever know. 🤘

I am glad they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...can't think of anyone more deserving!! By the way, I'da been down on my knees during this song, singing out of tune, tears of "release" in my eyes..what a thrill that would have been!

I was racing back to my seat and high fived a guy doing the same, going the opposite way...I would have preferred to see the performance but the shared High-5, big smiles as we bellowed with the crowd, was a nice substitute.
Seriously. I know he doesn't always sound perfect on every song, but he pretty much always nails those big soaring notes on Release - still gives me goosebumps all these years later.....
Eddie Vedder wrote several other songs for that movie but the director said they were so good they pulled the viewer out of the story so he couldn't use them. he ended up just using Release and the new songs Ed wrote disappeared back into his notebooks and have never been seen again.

Almost 30 years into it & he still holds the mic & pushes his gut forward & rocks back when he sings! I love this man.

i was there on friday night, Vedder sounded amazing, did the rest of the band not sound right? sound guys seemed to not get the sound right all night
