This was for a college assignment where some things they did not have to do. 2 The person submitted to the check and didn't inform him that he was uncomfortable or give signs of being in any pain, again the person submitted themselves to an exam, that's not an assult charge, not one that would hold up in court at least.

If you have to detain, hands interlocked on top of their head, you place your hand on top, and pat down from the back. Safety yes, but it also depends on the situation and where you are to decide what kind of pat down you do.
