I think you can cut those glads and they will all blooms. That will be lovely!
Everything is just so much easier with a helper. I can't tell you how much I appreciate my Jason. Jasons are so great!!
I can't wait to see these when they grow up the wire.
Yes, I was just thinking you need to get some new plants!!
I did get in the garden - I weeded for about an hour (got a sore back, so I'm slow at the moment). I was so happy because I only got like 1/3 of a bucket of weeds. Man, no dig really works!
    Cheers, Colleen (and Jason)

Thanks for keeping it real! I transplanted a Baptisa this year and OMG I literally fell over trying to get it out. Transplanting is so much harder than planting. I thought I killed the plant by the end of the fight but it’s growing! Never underestimate the power of a plant! Glad to see this took you multiple days too. My projects never get done quickly, easily or cleanly and I get discouraged because all of the You Tube videos make it look easy!

I’m so glad your husband helped you. Those roots!!! It’s going to look so good once it puts in some growth. A friend of mine has an out of control plumbago and I’m hoping to go get some clippings. I’d like to put a plumbago espalier on my side yard fence. We still need to get the fence replaced first. But if I can get clippings started, maybe this fall I can put it all together!

Fantastic idea! It will hide that ugly fence and give a great back drop for your other plants. It sure will make the other plants pop! Janey how long will it take to have full coverage cuz you'll have to cut it back a few times? How long did it take the honey suckle ( the one across from your kitchen window) to be fully covered? I'm sure am glad you sent ur pick to Laura. I haven't found a good garden in cali! Thank you for sharing your garden with us.

I highly recommend Bush Dr Kangaroots by Fox Farm (made in Humboldt area). It will give them a good start until the starter fert starts breaking down. Only water daily for the first 3-4 days, then every other day, and gradually on to 1-2x week. They have big roots, but they also resent being watered frequently.
Also, don't cut all the foliage back. Leave some on.
