I'm a pretty casual KISS fan. I had no idea Ace was so controversial. I heard this album because some guy was ripping it like it was the worst thing ever recorded, and I love a good musical trainwreck. To my surprise, it was thoughtful, tasty glam metal, probably a 4/5 in my book, and he sounds *great* live, especially at his age. I can't imagine anyone actively disliking this unless they just don't like rock music or expect a totally sterile live show. This is great, and the whole album's been stuck in my head for a week.
@@Arikvhnah you can clearly hear where it's steve and where ace. Stratosphere, cosmic heart and blinded are steve playing the solo. You can hear some really little differences in style like some hammer ons Ace would never do. All the others I'm pretty 100% sure it was Ace. And at the end of the day who cares. In the writing style of the songs you can still hear Ace his fingerprints. Except from blinded all the songs are top notch (blinded is not bad but still ok)

Yeah, the Darkness one hit wonder band and their talentless lead singer is trashing Ace. Ace is 70+ years old and still releasing and performing new music. When Justin Hawkins is 70 he won't be able to hit his falsetto voice and no one will be interested in seeing him or his band perform their 1 hit from the early 2000's. Hawkins has no class.

Well he is performing live unlike the other farts that had pre-recorded vocal tracks for 95% of the setlist. Ace figured he'd rather sing the parts to his singles rather than the licks as it tightens up the performance.
This song did absolutely nothing for me whatsoever, and from the looks of it, it did absolutely nothing for the audience either. Their applause was weak and half-hearted. Didn't Alcohol Ace learn anything about playing on stage from KISS? Apparently, not! This was a boring, lame and lackluster performance and those were the positives about this song! 😴
