I love how my brothers hate it when all I listen to the underground stuff, they don't understand soul music like this. Finally music I can relate to. Its just too easy to bust out verse like how those mainstream peeps do. Peeps like Funky DL make music for the passion, not the income.
When people say Hip-Hop and Rap isn't music it pisses me off, because they've obviously never heard anything real like this. There aren't many, but there are a few MC who represent the artistic aspect of Hip-Hop, it's about life, not money.
Once more, Nujabes makes the world a better place! I mean...is there anyone more awesome? He should be the minister of awesomeness and style! A true genius!
its a matter of opinion really. I personally see no point in listening over and over again to gangsta rappers rap about how gangsta they are or how hot she was in the club. But others see an appeal in that, and i can't take that away from them.
What mainstream/underground argument are you guys talking about? Dope beat and tune by Nujabes and great story-telling by Funky DL, what's there to argue about.
can I get some info about the lyrics of this song, eg link or lyrics itself? I'm not native english speaker, so hard to get just by listening. I've googled many sites but failed to get the lyrics.
"Every single day of my life; I rock mics, put it down - get the sound right. A lotta things in my life went wrong, but still I live for tomorrow because life goes on." "Every single day of my life; what goes on, gotta maintain to stay strong. A lotta things in my life went wrong, but still I live for tomorrow because life goes on."
Relaxes the mind Calms the soul If i could find a girl as good as his music id be hooked xD and i think i have. Nujabes never dead u have my respect and my ears.
There's a difference between being on the dance floor and listening to your ipod while walking down the street or something. Some are dancers, some are musicians, some are just listeners. But when it comes to music, I listen for art.
@ApprenticeOfAnubis what are you talking about? De La Soul, Mos Def, MF Doom, Talib Kweli, CYNE, Atmosphere, all of them are still alive and representing true hiphop
@EsfixLock So true, he definitelY liked being underground.... He's rapidlY becoming mY favorite DJ of all time, he reallY is amazing. DJ's up there w/ him (but not quite as good in mY opinion - but close) are DJ Shadow, Aim & a few others. What I meant though, was I can't understand how anYone can't like this stYle of music; it's so open to anYone and (at least in mY view) appealing to a wide range of tastes. Guess people don't see qualitY when it stares them right in the face
Lolz comments like this that make me glad 2 be a Bboy/Producer I produced my share of mainstream here and there but underground hip-hop is always da best... need ppl like this 2 keep it comin or im gonna run out of new songs to find lolz
