PC only actually, had too many controls for it to be on console. The studio was also fairly small if I remember right, which would probably be a huge contributing factor to why it never went beyond PC.

The devs that did have good visuals 'n such had their own in-house engine made with features like dynamic lighting and volumetric smoke/fog. Games with the best visuals and being good examples of in-house engines before 2006 in my opinion would have to be Far Cry and DOOM 3.

For me vietcong1 is better than vietcong2 in weapon reload sound. Vietcong 1 weapon sound is more consistent than in VC2. Like in Vietcong 1 you can hear that each weapon material sounds consistent unlike in VC2 where sometime it sound heavy the turns sound clanky. Also some weapon reload sound in vc1 is misplaced in vc2 like Tokarev pistol cocking sound in vc 1 is used in some rifle in vc2 that for vc1 player sounds weird
