Beautiful. I am a student of traditional African music, and this presentation was fantastic. I had seen a few of these dances from videos made in Ghana. I will search RUclips and hopefully find more complete versions. Please continue doing the fantastic work you are doing. I am from Zambia, and we have a lot of fantastic dances as well. I am sure that this is true of all African countries, and I am so proud of how creative our people are.
They are all beautiful and should be thought on various African art and dance institutions in Africa We should love and preserve whatever we have and add value to it always
Si beautiful danses and greatfull girls on Togo. I suggest you go in north east on a village named Solla, you'll some and best danses of Togo 🇹🇬 From 🇨🇦🥰
You in West Africa, Togo In East Africa we are waiting for you visit Uganda u will understand why we are the pearl of Africa, so many dances each tribe with there dances and drums,
Great stuff. I cannot make my mind up yet though number 7 is extremely easy to appreciate. In my country the UK our Scots are very different in appearance, language & music. I invite you my friend to watch our Royal Marine band playing the Hans Zimmer theme from the film Gladiator. I hope if you do you enjoy as much as watching these beautiful people from Africa 🎉
There's a similarity of Luo dance of South Sudan 🇸🇸 and Bongo tribe of South Sudan 🇸🇸 too and you Conclude that one of those Tribe Came from Kush then Kush is Sudan
I love love love African traditional dance. I'm do proud to be African. And thank you ohAfrica for sharing with the world. One however has to be careful on dating the dances as they are traditional and historical hundreds of years old rather than originating in the 20th century 😉
The title of the video and its contents can be misleading. The title says Traditional Dance Togo Ewe. But Tamberma isn't Ewe. It is Togolese, but it shows the variety of cultural traditions that make Togo. Ewe refers to the south of Togo, Tamberma refers to the north. Each brings its richness. And all make the richness of the culture of Togo.
Reverse gender ? Never heard of that. For me, this has something to do with Háthôr (meaning "House of Horus") the goddess of Love, Beauty, Music, Motherhood and Joy.
This is a great video, but I wish more information was gathered before posting it. This is mostly just clarifying some things, I'm not insulting or calling you a bad person. 1- The dance at 0:53 isn't agbadza, or at least not exactly. This dance is acually called "Husago" Agbadza is a bit faster and the rhythm is what tells the difference. It's one of our primary dances but it's very basic, it can be inserted into any rhythm and slip into any dance, like this one for example. I personally think the Adeʋu(Adewu) dance would've been a better one to start with. 2- Akpesse and bɔbɔbɔ are both called the same in Ghana and Togo, but the main difference is with the speed of the drums. I forget which is which and no one really seems to mind it but depending on where you go in either countries you'll hear both names. 3- the dance shown at 3:41 is called actually atripkui/atripkoe. There is one video of ŋotse women doing the dance. And atsia doesn't have fast drumming, it's more steady but it can speed up, so the video at 3:14 is right. 4- I know this is a video on Ewe people, but since there is a mention of Tamberma people, I wish there was also a mention on the Kabye dance called "Kamou", it's pretty energetic and as far as I know is loved my many people in the country, even we Ewes appreciate it. Overall tho, this video does spread my culture to good extent, so I'm happy, thank you.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Getting the best and most accurate information about these dances as I was researching was a hit-or-miss game. Oh, how I wish I had known you before making this video. Thanks, Afiadibolo.
Fon language is an amalgamation of two languages, Aja and Yoruba. It was created not long ago. Aja is a dialect of Ewe. Before the Fon language was created, the Ewe language already existed. Agbadza is an Ewe word. It’s also part of Fon because of the Aja component of Fon. Nonetheless, there are Ewes in Benin too.
@azimmounibmigan4722 Bruh doesn't know the origin of the fon language... As exemple take the word *DAHOMEY , Do u know what it means? Da mean snake as we say in the ewe language Dan or Edan and ,Homey which mean home As we say in ewe language Ahomey; So DAHOMEY mean Da Ahomey *The Home of DA or DAN or ÉDAN, The home of the snake. The Yoruba and the Ewe people are the fonder of The DAHOMEY kingdom. Da is known as name of a Man Who unified the people Ewe and Yoruba, and when he died his bodie were laid as foundation of the kingdom of DAHOMEY as honor to him... Also Da is found in the BIBLE as the son of Jacob and he had the prophecy as being SNAKE, he is symbol of justice, he is Father of the Da tribe... DAHOMEY the home of the snake or like most people will say in the belly of the snake, But the true translation of it, is the home of DA *the Snake.

Superamazing
In South Sudan, Acholi, Atuot, Malual, Nuer, Latuho, etc
Those in South Sudan especially bc the Acholi nation have a close relationship with the Evwheh nation and have similar cultural traditions.
Please what does the Tsyagbey dance symbolize and what is its influence on the religious and social life of the people.

🇧🇷🇧🇷 I never met a white person who could dance like these people do.🇧🇷🇧🇷
Adangbe people of togo migrated from ghana
Most of these dances seem more suitable for females than men
Now we know where twerking came from.
Agbadja dance is from Benin 🇧🇯
So are u trying to say Togo and Ghana stole it from u or what try read so history book
