I didn't even mention how those Medicare Mental Health Centres aren't even IN a lot of remote rural areas, and they're not even that widespread across a big city like Sydney, but Health Minister Mark Butler wants to gaslight us into thinking they somehow replace the additional sessions that people with complex mental illness desperately need!

Fellow Aussie here, I've struggled with debilitating mental health issues my whole life (autism, OCD, depression, anxiety) and have never honestly found any genuine help in the systems we have. I've basically suffered in silence and had to "suck it up" even though I can't function in society. Your videos are refreshing to me since I don't hear many people here discuss this. Feels like anyone who's mentally ill in Australia is just left to off themselves or rot in their parents' house.

Yeah unfortunately we're all about "awareness" or people doing a gazillion pushups 🤦‍♀️

It's good that there are people like you that are so open about their struggles n share their thoughts.
You mentioned the health care system in Australia, is it easy to get on Centrelink if you have psychological health problems. What paths did you take, if it's okay to ask, ie: do you need to attend regular sessions with a psych Dr, are psychologists able to help with the process.
Knowing so many people are more open these days about their mental struggles. It helps to normalise it, just like any other medical condition.

There's different levels with Centrelink and it's a real pain in the butt. It'll depend on what you need but for mental health you have 4 options that I know of:
      1) Standard jobseeker where they make you do "mutual obligations" which really just means they harass you to do busywork, but you don't have to prove anything other than your income and assets type stuff, however you do have to look for work, and/or report income from whatever work you're already doing
      2) Jobseeker with reduced requirements, where you get assessed as having partial capacity due to a permanent condition. You need to submit medical documents and do an Employment Services Assessment, but it's not as full on as applying for DSP. They then expect you to look for or do less work vs standard jobseeker.
      3) Jobseeker with a medical exemption, where you need a GP to give you a Centrelink Medical Certificate every 3 months and make sure they tick the box saying "temporary exacerbation of a permanent condition" - DO NOT tick "permanent condition" because the best you'll get is reduced mutual obligations, and if you actually can't work, that's more stress than you need. The annoying thing about this is they've gotten real slow at processing medical certs, so you pretty much have to sit on hold to call them and make sure they actually process it or the job agencies will come hounding you. Yes, every damn time.
      4) Apply for DSP, which is the hardest thing to qualify for. You need to study the heck outta the requirements and gather every last drop of evidence you can. Also since most medical providers have no idea about DSP, you need to spell out to them exactly what evidence you need and the Centrelink-mandated language you need them to use, which means looking up the DSP impairment tables, finding where you fit, and having them say it exactly that way. If you do not have everything perfect, your application can be delayed significantly and you won't even know what you've done wrong until someone finally gets around to talking to you, or your application is rejected. Basically, you need to assume they are not human, and feed the machine the exact information it desires. Yes, they expect the mentally ill to be able to study that hard. If you happen to be obsessive though, you're in luck, because that's what they want. There are websites that can help though, google "DSP Help" and perform whatever superstitious rituals you favour. If you manage to qualify, they may still harass you depending on your circumstances, but it's significantly less than the other options. I believe they may also review your situation every 2 years but I don't actually know.
In all cases, a psychologist can help. I think they recently became more lenient too, so now you can use a registered psychologist rather than having to find a clinical psych. They finally realised what a shortage there is. And yes, a psychiatrist can help too. And as I mentioned, letters from your GP. Ask every professional you're seeing for the paperwork you need. There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to giving Centrelink evidence.
I hope something in this helps. Which one suits you, I can't advise since I'm just a random on the internet. All of them carry various forms of stress. Remember, Centrelink isn't part of the mental health system. That's why they tend to make people's mental health worse lol.
Perhaps one day I'll make a video on how to deal with them, but honestly just thinking about them, ugh, I'm sure by now I have Centrelink PTSD or something. Every time, they set my mental health progress back.
      Best of luck with it!

Have you given any thought to trying the carnivore diet to help with your mental health? My brain fog and anxiety went away after a few weeks on carnivore.

Mate, diet isn't going to change the situation I'm stuck living in. I also don't have brain fog or significant anxiety. You know this about me by now.
