Aunt Clara should work for NASA or the Joe Biden Administration.
This was Aunt Clara (Marion Lorne's) last episode before she passed away. It was filmed in February 1968 and she passed away in May 1968. That was a sad loss for us all!
Elizabeth Montgomery was the very definition of gorgeous, especially when she dresses up to go out. Stunning.
Tabitha was so good (and cute) in this episode. She said her lines with the proper feeling in this scene.
I crack up laughing hearing people comment like this
I love when Aunt Clara calls out "Here, Saucer. Here, Saucer." and Tabitha says "It's big!" and "It's still big!"
I just love Aunt Clara ❤️
She was a gem 💎.
Diane Theisen. She really was a gem and so natural.👍
An antique
In spite of Aunt Clara’s goof ups, her witchcraft is very powerful.
Actually, aunt Clara is the one most powerful witch of the Samantha's family.
I always liked aunt Clara
I love these old shows. 💕💕. The music, the clothes, and even the green carpet. So peaceful compared to our world today.
Bewitched meets Lost In Space meets Star Trek.
After all these years it just hit me. The flying saucer in this episode originally appeared a year earlier in the Dean Martin Matt Helm film "The Ambushers".
Yup in the matt helm movie too
I love this episode! Floppy-eared dog people armed with N-guns (N stood for "niceness") traveling in a flying saucer! Alpha and Orvus should've had their own TV show! Hilarious!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I believe this was Aunt Clara's last appearance on "Bewitched."
Marion Lorne died shortly after filming this episode. R.I.P. Marion Lorne
@@Deutschie I had nightmares as a little kid in the 1960's when I learned Aunt Clara passed away. "I thought witches lived 100's of years!!!! 😢
@@mpshields I was depressed as hell when she died. I felt as though she was another grandmother to me.
@@Deutschie I dreamed Aunt Clara was in the Witches Comic Cosmos in the clouds.
Sad, a bit happy & spooked, but I was a little kid.
I like when darrin says, we don't need aunt Clara to babysit Tabitha. We will stay at home with Tabitha until she's 21. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
One of the best episodes from the entire series!
I remember this episode Best one 🙂
It was her final episode before passing away just a month later.
This episode always scared me as a kid, with the freaky looking aliens that had dog ears !!! 🤭
Me too. This episode spooked me too. The way aunt Clara and tabitha went out into the backyard at night and then the saucer lands. Even though the aliens were nice there was something about the way it was filmed that spooked me. I think around that time in 1968 it was the height of ufo mania. There were so many sightings, landings and abductions in the late 60s that this episode picks up the zeitgeist for ufology at the time. It somehow brought the idea of ufos into mainstream prime time television sitcoms apart from Star Trek and other space age shows.
The actor who plays Orvus in this episode appears in many other Bewitched episodes in many different roles. This was one of the few times he played a nice guy...no pun intended.
Who else did he play?
Steve Franken as Orvis and Hamilton Camp as Alpha...and this was dear Marion Lorne's last episode...."You're a better Spaceman than Dr. Spock!!!!"
Aunt Clara did it again. Lol!
I always loved Aunt Clara! 😀😁😍😘
You’re right Victor, Aunt Clara’s magic is very powerful. Never thought of it that way. lol
Yes, very powerful but misguided only because of her age.
Aunt Clara was Sam's favorite aunt, despite her irratic spells and her age. She loved her anyway. This was Marion Lorne's last episode before her death in 1968. Elizabeth Montgomery accepted her Emmy posthumously..
This is BEWITCHED's entry into "SF". Although, I will say this, the show used many elements that SF has used in depicting aliens over the years.
Aunt Clara in the past must have been a very powerful witch. Once Sam said ... "I am impressed, a bit of the old Aunt Clara!!!!"
I remember this! It was different . Like Darren, I also wondered if the aliens' "Niceness" rayguns could affect Endora.
Lol! Aunt Clara mentioned Star Trek's Mr. Spock. 😏
After all these years, I learn that Spock has a doctorate. Yea!
@@LoesserOf2Evils There was also Dr. Spock, the baby doctor who was quite famous. It would be like Aunt Clara to get them confused (and makes it easier for the copyright lawyers!)
She said Dr. Spock .
@@harperstacey9604 She did... but she said "you are a better spaceman than Dr. Spock", and no one ever said the baby Dr. Spock was anything like a spaceman.
They used the full size craft in both Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie
Invasion of the Poodle Men.
I wonder if that's the same UFO used in the Dick Van Dyke show about working late near Christmas.
The brown-haired alien looks like Worf, from Star Trek: The Next Generation!
I love aunt Clara
This is my favorite Aunt Clara episode 🤣. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I agree. Anything with Aunt Clara, I love ❤.
@@dianetheisen8664 I hope everything is well with you and little Nina today. This episode with the flying saucer is my favorite episode. I wish the whole episode was shown. Have a wonderful evening and God bless you. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 One of my favorites as well. Nina is doing OK 👍. She's eating and is very alert, thanks for asking.
I've never seen this one! Great fun, thanks.
Tabitha is so cute.... "it's STILL big"..
The first drone.
This episode scared the crap out of me as a kid.
Why did this episode scare you? From Ms. Harper Stacey.
How? It was one of my favorite episodes. It was the first one I watched when I got my boxed set. I love the dog people. (Jan Griffiths).
I loved this episode when I was a small boy. lol little did I know that the toy couldn't fly.
So... how did the toy saucer fly? We can't really do that NOW! (and no, it's not a drone).
So THIS is where George Lucas got his idea for Chewbacca.
🤣
More like Barf from Mel Brooks' Spaceballs...
Great episode! Aunt Clara, "I'll be back".
In less than 20 years from then, that phrase will be very well known.
According to IMDB, this is Clara’s last episode.
Marion Lorne who played Aunt Clara, died of a fatal heart attack after this episode was filmed. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Awww🙁
@@SueBoo2 yes
J'adore cet épisode !
Looks like miniature drone tech has actually regressed in sixty years.
Evidently we are not allowed to see the entire episode only a few minutes.
I love the "Aliens", but the flying saucer is not up to the standard of other special effects on Bewitched
I think this was aunt Clara last episode.
Yes, I think you're right. This was toward the end of season 4.
そうなんですね…( ; ; )
かわいいクララおばさま 大好きです♡
Aww that was sad. It's all sad cos we all so old now. This was good days 👍❤️❤️🙏
My fav Tabitha episode!!!
Shortly after is when Aunt Esmeralda came on scene … she was good too.
Esmeralda was a good character too. This was a 4th season episode, but Esmeralda didn't show up until the 6th season. During season 5 we saw a whole lot more of Serena than ever before to fill the gap.
I love Aunt Clara
this has to be my favorite episode of all time!!! from all the varied shows of that era!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 sadly these kinds of shows would end up offending someone somewhere hence they arent ever made like this again 😔
I ove these programs. I get offended when I watch some of the garbage that's on now.
Did dick York win an Emmy for his role on this show? He should have
He was nominated but didn't win.
I am totally 🚶♀️ 🎠 🚶♀️ to jump into this episode and ask Samantha if I can borrow her outfit for my next 😀 😉 dinner 📅 date!
Love aunt Clara
Very good episode. Thanks.
I think Aunt Clara and Uncle Arthur made this show.
Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York made the show. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

I wish I could see the rest of this episode.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!
I did not know there were drone toys which could fly away in the 1960s??
I had just ordered the complete episode #30 and It was very good!
Haha. Alien from outer space with Americans accent. Funny
If they came out of a police box instead of a saucer they’d have British accents
Everyone knows aliens actually have French accents. Like the Coneheads. They come from France.

Confused reference to Dr. Benjamin Spock the pediatrician
@@Seishin_Tengu Absolutely right !!
@@Seishin_Tengu Dr. Benjamin Spock, pediatrician, and Mr Spock, Star Trek alien, were concurrent in the news and popular culture at the time, so alien references in entertainment media sometimes came out as Dr. Spock - I've often wondered if it was a way to get around Paramount's copyright infringement...
I saw that on my TV 📺
Aunt Clara

Nice try but Spock was not doctor
Did dick York win an Emmy for his role on this show? He should have
The only two Emmy winners were for "Best Supporting Actress". Alice Pearce in '66 and Marion Lorne in '68. Liz accepted both awards.
