  • Interrogation footage captures the moment 15-year-old Konrad Schafer was caught for murdering two innocent people back in 2013. Schafer, along with three other suspects, went on a deadly shooting spree "for fun," including murdering a teenager waiting at a bus stop. Schafer later pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. Find out what happened to Konrad on this episode of "Stranger Stories."

? Is the sentencing a juvenile changing if tried/sentenced after turning 18 only for this state? I've never heard of that. If he was tried as an an adult, that's different.
I noticed a bit of contradiction in narrative on several stories, as well as misinformation or at least misstatements of facts. A bit of assuming also. Just saying 😊

I somewhat agree, especially with how the investigator kept stuttering. However the kid was so annoying with not giving any respect. no eye contact, just hiding under his shirt. I would be annoyed if I was the interrogator. I give the cop some props for his patience with this young man. Sad how much his father looks to have loved him. Father kept saying he loves him toward the end, and giving a sense of optimism, even in the face of the impending incarceration. I feel sad for this father, and his failure of a son.

This is what happens when you don't discipline your children. His dad should have taken him back there and given him a real good ole fashioned disciplinin' after he stole that car the FIRST time. Would his pride maybe have been a little bruised? Maybe, but there's a good chance he wouldn't be heading off to prison. I would have looked at him and said "you ain't hanging' out with those kids anymore, so get it out of your head". Also, and this is because I'd like to be a detective myself, but that kid's interrogator should be a WOMAN. She'd come in there, sit so she could look straight into his eyes, and show him some maternal empathy, and that kid would start bawling and giving up facts and details. When I was 15, my friends and I would sneak out at night, take our parents cars (1 at a time, 1 at night I mean), and go for joyrides, "cruising", looking for girls, and "farming" yards - which is when you go onto someone's yard, and peel out, going in circles to tear up their grass. So, 1 night, we were "farming a yard", a friends yard, believe it or not, and we had the headlights off as we did it, so nobody could see our license plate. Halfway down the block as we were leaving, a cop car happened to be going down a cross street, and notice our car driving w/ no lights on. BUSTED! My friend Mike Johnson was driving my Mother's car, and after pulling over, as the cop was walking up, Mike put the car in gear again, and I could sense that he was contemplating driving off - to try to outrun the cops! (We had talked about this before). But I was the least irresponsible of the 4, and I put the car back into Park. It's a good thing I did, or my life may have gone differently. The cop came up, asked for Mike's D.L. (he had none yet), and we were kind of "arrested" - no handcuffs, but we were taken to the Police Station, put in a cell, and our parents were called. We all got put in a diversion probation program, and nothing went on our record as we never got into trouble again. (We did smoke a lot of pot, and drink underage and got busted - but that was a ticket). Otherwise, THIS was the first and last time we did this, and this scared me and straightened me up! My friends and I have since gone our own ways, so I don't know about them.

The fact that he already knows that he will go to juvie until 18 and then do the remainder in prison. Shows he already had knowledge of the court system and punishments but still went ahead and did the crimes.

As wrong as it is for the kid to do what he did, it’s even more wrong for cops to sit there and manipulate him into talking. I’ll never agree with any law enforcement official talking to minors without a parent or legal representation to guide them.

    • @toyamwarr

@@toyamwarrI know. I just feel like there should be a law against that in every state, no matter the crime. Minors should be protected. If we wanna protect the children, it should apply at every level and in every way.

Teen's make 'The Reckless Life Changing Decisions First, Think About Any Consequences Later.' Conrad thought he wouldn't get get caught, laughed and joked about what he and his new friends did and guarantee if he wasn't arrested probably would have carried on. Having a deaf father is also what he thought might get him bonded out to go home, should have thought about all this before driving around killing innocent people. It's only when their lives/freedom is going to be taken they cry like the Children they are but still only for themselves not the victims.
