You can only get silk from the Merchant, l looked it up for you so now it's a tip from the comments 😆 not "cheating" I wouldn't call it cheating anyway, I feel like you have no choice if you wanna progress. It would've been nice if you could go out in the wild & catch silk worms for the silk tho.
