My 160 watt kings panel puts out about 130 watts according to my charge controller.
And that's not bad for a $99 panel, it's more than enough to run fridge that uses 1.5 amp hour of power per hour. eBay solar panels are much worse than that, for example I bought a 300 watt panel on eBay and at best it could only make 56 watts enough said

I have, solar panels, battery box, dual fridge, awnings, roof top tent, and heaps of other camping stuff from kings.... and they are all perfect with no problems whatsoever.... we sent a heap of stuff from kings to Africa for antipoaching patrols, tons of camping stuff for rangers to survib in the bush and never had any problems... thankyou kings, i highly recommend them.

Im pretty happy with my 160w panels. Ive had it for four years and it still charges my batteries and fridge is running for the last four years with no problem. Maybe they didn’t install the panels correctly. Search for an Electrician to do the job you don’t know how to do it!
Also my 1500w inverter runs perfect even when I extract 1650w from it! I would say so far Kings has been the best cost benefit Ive used!

Some of my Kings gear has been OK over the years.. However I had a mild engine fire after a battery isolator gave up once.. which was unpleasant for me however humorous to my mate. nobody died.. 2 stars.

Some of their stuff is ok for the price. I've never had an issue with their spotties. I dont go through deep rivers so not worried about waterproof. Comparing the lights with a mates set of Narvas the difference was so minimal that the justification to spend 3x more is not worth it.

My whole 4by/camper is setup with kings gear and ive never had a drama the only thing i will say is they swear black and blue that the 65L fridge wont fit on the much cheaper (1/2 the price) medium slide and they advertise it both instore and online aswell that youl need the 100L slide, well went in there with the old man and a tape measure and proved them wrong it fits with that much room on all sides i had to buy a non slip mat to go under the fridge real glad i didnt just listen and have more then half my ute canopy tsken up with a 100L slide i didnt need! Other then that tho never a drama with fridges, battries, rtt, swag, awnings, gazebos, SUP, speakers, spotlights, solar panels ect id you look after the gear it does its job if ur a full-time traveller or camper then surely youd be smart enough to spend abit more money on good brand name gear if u want it to last

I purchased the mppt charge controller as a stand alone purchase .. And it never worked from day 1 .. The solar imput comes on and off at random intervals.. even full sun and depleted battery .. They now sell there solar panel without the controller.. So that tells you how many issues there having with the controller.. But for some reason you can still purchase the controller.. It should be removed of the list ..

    • @coolstar2398
      @coolstar2398 7 месяцев назад

@@samhaveaguess4284 yeah they sell the panels without them for people who don’t want the mppt because they will run the panel into another mppt closer to their batteries. Can’t run out of one mppt into another.

I had purchased a tourer roof top tent from kings. Only 3 months and used 3 times, the travel bag ripped though leading to the tent getting mouldy and floor swelling. Mind you, the build quality is also disgusting. The mounting bars on the bottom of the tent all side ways and not parallel. Predrilled ladder holes do not align. The floor is flimsy as could be. The metal is all cut really rough and sharp. I could go on forever with the quality control. Took it back to kings stating the above and I was told it was my fault because I didn't consistently get on my roof multiple times a week to make sure it was still okay. Refund declined. I refused to take it back home with me telling them it is not safe/fit for purpose. I drove another 1.5 hours back home and wrote the kings claims team a formal warning and thankfully claimed my refund. But I'll be damned if I spend $630 AUD on a tent I used only on occasion to be told it was my fault and sent home. Rough day that was...

My 75kings fridge lasted 2 months. After going in store for an exchange whilst providing video evidence of it malfunctioning they refused warranty saying they need MORE evidence of it failing.. how much do you need to show before you honour a “5 year warranty”. Terrible business

@@cindoz1289 it was just plugged into 240v the whole time. I wasn't being a "pr*ck" during this whole ordeal considering the fridge was brand new. the staff instore were sympathetic but head office seemed to be the main cause of refusing the exchange. if you wanna flaunt a 5 year warranty you should be able to stand by it when problems arise. it later got replaced for a new one after 2 weeks of back and forth...

can confirm the 250w panels are trash. mine only put out half their rated power. the 160w panel however is good. i have 2 of them on my canopy and they perform above their rated output in good conditions. i was silly enough to buy 2 of the 250w panels to hard mount on my roof so i have a 250w eyesore on my roof which i will probably replace with 160w panel array at some point in the future..

I am 61 and have significant quality outdoor equipment since 1970. I am experienced in mountaineering, hiking and four-wheel driving. I have used four wheel drives and camping equipment professionally for many decades in remote areas where safety is paramount.
In my opinion this brand is low quality rubbish quality snd this why it is cheap.
This brand caters for inexperienced users who are lured by the cheap prices. Sales staff in the store swarm you and are pushy.
I only buy high quality products such as ARB.
Remember the old saying ‘Buy cheap..buy twice’.
I would never buy anything that is Adventure Kings brand. It is fancy branded cheap rubbish.
