That bit with the pbass.... perfect. Exactly what i was hoping to see. I'm kinda sold on an eq pedal. It'd be nice to shape the sound without having to walk back forth to the amp. I don't mind. But you can't argue with the sound of that pbass. I want to hear what my Thunderbird can sound like
hello, I recently bought this pedal but I'm looking for info for a punkrock type setting (rancid, antiflag, pennywise. The bass of my group being very present what are your ideas to add presence at the frequencies? I specify that I play with the finger
i am just an amateur when it comes to bass guitar, but I own a short scale model myself. It is Killer Impulss Black Rose issue. What's bad about short scale
notes played on E sound a bit darker than the same notes played on A. part is the thickness of the string but sting length plays a role too. counterintuitively, short scale basses can sound deeper due to shorter strings with less tension. :)
This pedal is worth every penny, even if it is not completely noise-free. It's simply a wonderful sound tool and you can immediately access a second sound.
Good morning while you were there mowing the bass equalizer the drum track kit was just too loud it was overtaking the volume of the base you really can't hear it you may want to adjust
That is the one thing I don't have on my pedal arsenal... I now think its a must! We have been playing in different types venues and I found out that the parametric EQ on my amp is not enough to cut some feedbacks and humms I was getting on some stages!
The Cappy, Naaah... I play three different basses and they don't have the same tone, or the same purpose. They may not humm the same for the same notes. For example, my Jaguar (tuned EADG sometimes dropped D) bass humms some places while playing an D on the fifth fret of its A string, my SchecterDiamond bass (tuned BEAD) may feedback on the low E but not the B and not the D! I also handmade a six-string bass with an EMG pickup (Yeah! Built it myself!) and that one does not humm or feedback at all but is much louder than the Schecter which is not active but my Hyper-Gravity pedal make them all sound good! I don't think A high pass filter would be specific enough to help me!
I had this pedal. After getting an A/O ultra it just started to sound bad to my ears and gave it away. I'd personally spare my money for a good preamp. Anyway, as always, thanks for your great review. TC electronic Juno-60 chorus please.
@@kabassa Darkglass Alpha-Omega preamp: the only pedal I couldn't live anymore without. The Ultra version has a graphic eq that is way better than this one.
Paolo Moretti oh, Okay, but I still think that the darkglass pedals still have a very specific sonority style, I do not care about drive and distortion stuff, I just need to have more control of the frequencies of my clean bass, and for that I recommend the empress parametric eq. Thanks for the feedback
@@kabassa Yeah you're right. Even if you can turn the drive completely off and just use the eq over the dry signal, I guess that 400 are better invested in something that does it specifically if you don't care for the best distorsion ever. But this one is not so good. If money is no problem, I would get Empress any day. See you man.
I have one of these and it's really cool, but I'd like to be able to choose my own frequencies, so I'd like you please to try the EMPRESS PARAMETRIC EQ. It seems to be the best choice for bass eq pedal. Thanks for the video.
@@MJHunt434 Thanks... anyway I've already opted for Dunlop's MXR 10-band EQ. There's NO noise whatsoever and there are two controls for level: gain & volume and this allows it to function as a pre-amp too. It proved to be just perfect for my home studio setup.
Nice demo , I have a question is this yPRS Bass the strings become hard to play after a while ,mine here in Dubai the humidity is very high, every day in the morning I find the strings very hard to play & the TrusRod is set right & the action too, do you have any idea what to do , K think the Headstock of this Bass is a very big problem & a bad design after some tests I did it show me that the more the strings go down on the tuner keys when you wrap the string for tuning the bass & if you use the strings thru body it become more wit-5th because the strings become 35 “ not 34 “ so it become more hard to play even after put strings 40-55-75-95 I will sell this bass I don’t like it it’s a waste of money it’s a shame because it sound very nice
You wont get good sounds as the GE-7 has frequencies you don't care about (high-high end) but it lacks control bellow 100hz which is fundamental for bass
You can but the actual range of the bass starts at 50 which is what this pedal covers. I have an EQ pedal already but not one for the lower woofer frequency. I’m getting this pedal soon too.
Bapt and the Basses I agree with you. I had this pedal for a short time. I kept the 4.5k & 10k all the way down. I think the 1k & 2k would’ve been better frequencies to adjust.
Bapt and the Basses Yeah, again, I agree with you. The MXR is probably a lot more in price, but it does make a little sense with the frequency you can adjust.
We're you fall down is only using all finger picking bassists as you know a plec attack is far different and a sharper attack on faster runs were the fingers mute the sharpness too much you should have used a few plec players in ur videos
Have this pedal since 2006, it has been an essential part of my pedalboard.

Yay more Boss stuff. Keep it coming, guys! 👍🏻
Fast tone is awsome thank u I set my geb-7 right now like this and sounds really good
I’m not a big fan of short scale basses, but damn that EB-3 sounds good.

i loved the josh dubois line with will's jp90 around minute 2
Nice demo. Thanks. Still I do not understand why 50 Hz and 10 kHz are no shelfs. That would be really helpful.
Damn, Jayme lewis's play sounds really good.
One best reviews!!!! Cheers from Brazil !! Peace guys
Absolutely a great demo video. I am going to purchase this. Thanks BC.

The same review with the GE-7B would be great.
Excellent pedal, no noise either. I use it flat as a preamp.
Woah it can do that too?!
I bought , I love it. Thanks for the awesome review. Really makes things easier.
That is the one thing I don't have on my pedal arsenal... I now think its a must! We have been playing in different types venues and I found out that the parametric EQ on my amp is not enough to cut some feedbacks and humms I was getting on some stages!
Maybe try a high pass filter with adjustable knob.

Hum cancelling pickups? Noise gate?

Uh what? An EQ pedal doesn't have a sound. It does what you set it to. It's not supposed to be like the dark glass preamp.
Awesome attention to detail! Cool studio! Thanks Bassic Gear Review for quality product reviews!,,
Quiero ese pedal definitivamente !
this would be perfect for FX loop of an orange amp or any other amp with limited eq knobs

hey friends have to check, I put this equalizer and the guitar and both work super well
So scooping the 500 hz gives you the SWR sound. Cool. LOL!
Very good but I have an important question: does it introduce any perceptible noise into the sound?
I own one of these and I can tell you, it doesn't bring any noise other than just affecting the frequencies of your bass
Only if you boost to the extreme.
It fucking does
Analogman sells a modded one at a reasonable price that lowers the noise level considerably.

Great video but i dont undestand.. What amp you use? Use another box other the EQ? tnx
I Got one, nice pedal!
Will the GE7 (the guitar one) work on bass? I know this is kind of a silly question for this video, but just curious

05:26 sounded very 1960s!
Where’s Will?!?!
Nice review.... lml
Please,Review the Warwick Infinity Rockbass...😀
Any one know the settings to get a Rickenbacker like tone with this eq?
Not sure what chords Nick is playing to.
What the signal chain?
Wow whats that first bass in this video???
That's a Paul Reed Smith Kestrel bass!
the pedal is often much more hissy than shown here
I'd like to know what where the ideas in the frequencies selection... 400 500 800 Hz and then 4,5 kHz? Why?
Bapt and the Basses I agree with you. I had this pedal for a short time. I kept the 4.5k & 10k all the way down. I think the 1k & 2k would’ve been better frequencies to adjust.

Bassic Pedal reviews more like.,...
Damn. That’s a much better name.
Too
Didn’t help at all
Seems like that pedal made everything sound bad.
Hey Guys, clean the pedals...
These are products that get stepped on, chill the fuck out.
