Flat die speed is 10 meters per second measured at the diameter of the die. You should be around 800 to 1000 rpm from the look of the size of die you have. The pellets should be steam temperature if you are going fast enough. Pellets should be shiny smooth and hot.
I’m guessing you are using a gas less flux cored mig? I’m impressed by how well it works. What would I put in to make cattle feed?

Pellet machine is a pellet machine, it doesn't care what you put in it, feed, sawdust, plastic.. it will make pellets out of it.
You can use it for making sawdust pellets but you have to wet the sawdust
@@SharkRoadsmix it with coffee grounds and - if it’s biodegradable - used cat litter. It doesn’t stink - I’m not kidding. It’s the weirdest thing.

That's a great build , could be adapted for many other things. Just wondering what ratio gearbox you used ? Because i have a couple laying around and would like to give this project a try. Thanks for taking the time to share this .
Ratio 1:30 but it would be better to use a bigger one or belt driven
