I think that it is "White sheds light" and it means that when an altitude is colored white it is for informational purposes only. The system is telling you what an altitude is at a certain lateral waypoint, but this is for informational purposes only.

What simulator is this? I can only find the Cessna Nav iii version 13. (cessna piston versions) also 7:42. your 2nd TOD VPTH goes back to green (active) without flashing white / VNV acknowledge. I can't get that to work - I think it is just the sim

Thanks for the video gents. One question, is it correct that the 5 minute VNAV restriction is only the “old” G1000, the Nxi does not have this restriction. Regards from GRMNY

What does “White Sheds Light” imply?

Hey guys great video. Just a question for a newbie but what is the meaning of "White is light"? Thanks.

The saying is "blue is true, white sheds light", meaning that the blue altitudes are hard constraints that the plane will respect, while the white altitudes are only indicative of the altitude at which the plane should be at. VNAV only directs the plane to meet the blue altitudes. The white altitudes "shed light" on the descent profile.

Do these VNAV principles transfer over to say the stepdowns of a LOC only approach?

“Threat Level” is about the dumbest connotation I have ever heard.
    Just fly the damn airplane…..

Well with so many hiccups and little inconsistencys your going to need to know this as well as a programmer knows his own code and that's very unlikely. You kept saying just do this just do that. Unfortunately just like your PC it's real easy to push a button but finding the path through a maze of menus at least in this case is unrealistic and will probably get you killed. It's just so easy??
