For me the 1st I hear in a song is the voice which invites me to hear the melody lastly the lyrics. I am impressed with the way he thinks or approach his songs. But just the same Kyungsoo/D.O is my one and only bias cause when I 1st heard his voice I didnt even need lyrics.. his voice alone conveyed a lot.. His acting is like his singing.. always just comes natural for him. Never too much.. never too less. He is known to have a poker face tho.. haha often teased for looking mysterious or bored and wants to go home look on his face.. 😂 but i am amazed at how his mind works. D.O. made me like and love his group EXO because I've first known him as an actor, not a singer. He is not only an amazing singer but also an amazing actor with 20+ acting awards, he is also a licensed chef..he co-writes the lyrics of 2 songs on his 1st mini album Empathy and have a Spanish song Šī Fueras Mia and an English version of the title track Rose. Now this 2nd mini album is Expectation. Both are non skip album. All his songs are really good❤

He really got one of the unique voices in Kpop. His vocal prowess is really insane. And he is also known for being effortless when singing. That even the hardest song will make you think it's the easiest if he is the one singing. He is not struggling at all. His Vocal control and technique are out if this world. Seriously!
D.O has amazing tone and is very flexible , his range is no joke , he can belt plus his vocal runs are chef kiss, that's why D.O voice can match almost all artist , his voice can be paired excellently to many....which is a good aspect in a group just like it was in exo. From my observation throughout an exo fan, even those artist that didn't seems that great BUT when D.O duet or paired with him/her , you feel that it was awesome 👏🏻 That is because he can balanced and harmonized his voice to anyone which is a hard thing to do. Unpopular opinion: The magic behind a song were mostly done by his voice. The small details that not everyone can catch is his doing. The simple things he do with his voice is actually NOT A SMALL THING afterall. This realization is from listening repeatedly with exo songs and watching the behind the scenes of their recordings which confirms to what I was saying.

A long message follows😊 D.O. is a living example of a person born with an innate talent, love & appreciation for music who, through years of hardwork & practice, honed it to become a spectacular artist. So many people have covered his songs but those covers did not invoke in me the kind of emotional response that D.O.'s voice does. Even the Ed Sheeran song.. I first heard it on LMJ Service & checked the original a few days later. Listened to it a couple of times but couldn't connect emotionally. Whereas, D.O.'s cover makes me cry every single time! D.O.'s vocal tone & color is just perfect. Very calming & soothing yet equally powerful. Note to people who are new to D.O.: Don't let his soft songs fool you. His song 'Tell Me (What Is Love)' is INSANELY powerful, esp. for his age back then. D.O.'s (or shall I say, Kyungsoo's) acting is another area to explore to truly understand his immense talent. Further, all his colleagues (seniors & juniors) sing praises for his personality. He is polite, caring, hilarious & extremely unpredictable which adds to his charms. Must check out his 'No Math School Trip' show and 'Reap What You Sow' which started yesterday. Moreover, he's a certified cook & plans to work further in that field as well! I highly recommend you to watch exo BEHIND THE SCENE RECORDING for Cream Soda MV and Hear Me Out MV. You will love it for sure. But I think you shoudd see the mv first i think , for you to truly appreciate the song.
