In Episode 3, Josh starts off in the Twin Cities where he meets up with Yia Vang, an award-winning Hmong chef and restaurant owner, bringing his family’s traditions and flavors to the American Midwest. As Josh heads up north to Duluth and the boundary waters, he’ll meet plenty of farmers and foragers-harvesting mushrooms, wild rice, and catching a few fish (and waves) along the way. It all wraps up with an epic feast hosted by Yia back in the cities.

More DIRT! More DIRT! This series is exactly what people need to watch. Local communities and great people. I can't help but feel some Anthony Bourdain vibes in the best way possible.
what an HONOR that is
There is a serious gap for this kind of consistent, well made content.
It's not Anthony Bourdain!!! It's better!!!!! Next level!!!!
As others have already said, this is easily the best series on RUclips. How much stuff do I need to buy to keep this going? 🤣
tin cup whiskey apparently not subtly
Dear Camera Person(s)...Dang!!! Beautiful beautiful work calms my spirit.Thank you.
Using Charlie Parr for the music here was special. Good choice.
I wondered if that was him!
Charlie is always a good choice. He's magical and a legend.
You can't ever go wrong with Charlie!
Thanks for sharing; was trying to figure out who that was …really enjoyed his music
Charr parr!
After watching the Dirt Series, I am doubling down on my love for my country and her people. Truly amazing!
As a native Minnesotan I can say that there may very well be some lakes or streams that one could drink out of safely, Lake Superior is not the first I'd choose and it might be close to last.
Also: Thanks for coming to our state and showing the world a side of us beyond snow, the accent from Fargo, and Lake Bde Mke Ska.
Alternate title: Josh jumps off high things, and eats good food. 😄🌊
As a Minnesota native I have to say thank you. Thank you for showcasing our amazing state! People often ask me what's special about Minnesota and unless you've been there its hard to summarize. This video is the perfect summary of what makes it such an amazing place. From the wonderful cultural diversity to the farming to the amazing city of Duluth and finally the untouched beauty of the BWCA. This video will now be my answer to the question "What's special about Minnesota?"
truly it was our pleasure!
Minnesota is a hidden gem! As prince would say ‘ the cold keeps the bad out!’
This was really great. Thank you for spotlighting us!
Simply epic!! Didn't expect to see something like this tonight. Award wining
This is "the real local" and the real America what a great series and i only finished 2 episodes 😂 ...we need more Dirt in the world!!!!
its on the way!
I freaking Love these DIRT videos! Netflix needs to give you all a show!
The story telling, narration, the editing. Absolutely nailed it. Nostalgic whilst being in the moment. Quite a special vibe. Thank you.
This is how we knit ourselves together. Thank you for this.
Charlie Parr, Trampled by Turtles, and Hmong Village. All topped off with a bit of smoked whitefish. You really went deep on this one, love it!
I'm just finding this series now and it's absolutely amazing.
This is really, really good. Extremely nice cinematography, quick paced, informative, emotional and all that it needs to be. First time watching and I'll be following forever.
So cool. I live in MN... I've seen Charlie Parr live and jumped the same waterfall as this guy. Amazing to see our state observed!
This is certainly one of the BEST things on RUclips….Subscribed….keep them coming….more DIRT please.
We appreciate it! More episodes to come in 2024 -- stay tuned!
Absolute gold! As a Minnesotan from birth this was one of the most beautiful and authentic documentations of our state I've seen! You guys crushed this!
As someone who was born and raised in Duluth, this video was a nice trip back to my youth. I don't get back as often as I'd like, but it's never a bad time when I'm able to return.
Hell yes Jason - so glad we could channel even a sliver of nostalgia!
This series is incredible.
Josh! This dude, this right here is it. I am a born and raised Minnesotan who has ventured out and back a few times. But this is home, you truly embraced Minnesota for what it is! I will share this with many people who ask me why i live in Minnesota. Thank you to you and your team for this!
Impressed by the quality of this series. Just stumbled upon this channel but I’ll be sticking around !
I was so happy when you talked about the wild rice :)
Another amazing episode! nice work.....
I love the first 50 seconds of the show with Charlie Parr's intro. DIRT is an awesome docuseries (the best I have ever watched) and Episode 3 is one of my favorites. Keep them coming Josh and company. We cannot get enough of it!
Couldn't agree more!
@@Huckberryco Hey, guys...when are you going to come up with some DIRT merchandise--you know, tees and hats, etc.? You have an eager audience!
Best thing on RUclips, well done DIRT and Huckberry!!
Nice Trampled homage. Next Colorado for Yonder, Cheese, Leftover Salmon and the Dusters...
Well done! Josh may have the best job ever!
No kidding!
American & Asian fusion is the best. I love food, beer, wine and specially the peace and respect that comes with it. This is awesome.
I can't get enough of this show. So positive in a time of negativity..
I’m diggin this video.. 🙌🏽
Another killer episode from a place I'm very familiar with. This series seriously hypes me up! So many cool things packed into 20 minutes!
Excellent series and this is easily my favorite episode and it's always great to see Charlie and TBT Dave anywhere, anytime and often. I love the whole soundtrack.
To meet with those who work the land to produce the best possible outcome ..looked like collecting the wild rice is painstaking..the process is very traditional..have used it sparingly knowing it is like gold..🌞
My favorite series! I look forward to the next episode!
Thanks for stopping in!
Love this series
That's my hometown of Prescott in the opening sequence!! Just North of Red Wing!
You really did minnesota justice here considering the time constraints. What a beautiful trip to my favorite state.
can't WAIT for episode 4. Please keep this series going ♥️ everytime I watch one of these episodes it inspires me so much
Always with beautiful soul peoples
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love Peace Respect Always
Yes! Very A.B. indeed. Very slick. Very just right. Perfect!
thanks for the love!
I just want you to know I paused straight after the jump off the waterfall so I could send an appreciative comment. This series is fantastic.
Wow this is some amazing content! Love seeing Minnesota through this lens. Special place
Josh Rosen is a co-founder of Saturdays NYC. Seeing him here blew my mind. Cool dude!
Love it
Loving this series! Keep it coming!
More to come!
What a beautiful piece! I was born in Minnesota but only lived there for one year. I went back a few years ago to visit Minneapolis but only felt the cold and dreary winter. Now I know that I must return!🙏❤️much love from Japan
I am born and raised a Minnesotan. love this video! Charlie Parr!
Great show
Anything to the tune of TBT is magical, but y’all really outdid yourselves with this one.. I had minimal familiarity of MN outside of its fishing opportunities, but you’ve now inspired a much deeper want to head there (and buy a pair of those Red Wings). Cheers
cheers mate!
1st RUclips comment ever and I'd like to say thank you, while I grew up next to Paul Bunyan in a small town I now live in TX. This brought me right back home. So beautifully shot, awesome job! #oofda #youbetcha
Absolutely brilliant! Gives warmth to my soul. Thank you.
Awesome! My grandparents had a farm near Duluth but moved to Arizona in the 60’s
What a blessing watching this episode. Thank you. Super stoked.
Lot of heart in your films.
i'd like all of dirt videos/contents, it's useful for me who curious about american nature
Thank you. Thank you so much, I really feel like you get this state and the people here I love so much. Beautiful. Please do a part two in winter! (For real though.)
Stoked to hear this! (great call, I'll let the team know)
We’ll heat the sauna again to ease the winter chill. 🔥🙌🏽
I was born in Brainerd! Loved this episode
hell yeah, thanks for the love!
Nicely done. Minnesota transplant living in NYC since 2019. Stint living in CA as well 2012-2014. Can't believe how many annoying people I have met on both coasts who quickly dismiss large swaths of the country inland as nothing more than flyover territory. There is a rich culture and history all across the USA, the stories just need to be told.
This is fantastic, but the best part of it all is Charlie Parr.
Beautiful storytelling as usual. This is probably my favorite RUclips series. Keep ‘em coming!!
This was a fun one. And not to worry: DIRT Episode 4 is in the works...
love the series. I find it funny they keep putting Josh close to bees.
Thank you for doing justice to this amazing state! 🌲🌊 A magical place, for sure. I buy all my honey from Ames Farm. We live one town away from Delano on the South Fork of the Crow River. 💗 Keep it up, folks!
GREAT job DIRT - this highlights some of the best things about MN. Yes, winters are longggg - but when they're over, everything you've captured here is EXACTLY why I love this state. Well done 👍
Netflix quality! Great!
CANT WAIT for the next dirt episode.
Just found your channel and you made very good documentaries ,fun and so professional, thank you and watching from Bangkok ;-))
Literally best series ever
One of the best shows I've ever watched thank you guys for this masterpiece 🖤
Hi Josh! Thank you for these videos, they make me happy in my sad moments, in my moments of anxiety, in my moments of depression, thank you sincerely!
I wore Red Wings for near 35 years as a commercial carpenter in fact my father took me to buy my very first pair in about mid '85 " the most important tool you'll ever need is a GOOD pair of boots" : dad
This is so awesome! Thank you for highlighting so much of what makes Minnesota great. Also a big shout out to the production team - great interviews and amazing videography. Gonna keep shopping huckberry to make sure more of these get made
thanks youtube algorithm, for bringin me here, i found peace watching vids on this channel, 🇵🇭
Wow! I'm saddened that there are only 4 episodes...this is amazing! As a huge fan of Anothony Bourdain, this is just as gorgeous cinematography minus Tony's voice! Please create more :)
So happy I found this series. Instantly hooked!
this is such a well made series baffles me that its free to watch
Thanks for the great content!
This series is awesome, I feel like Maine would be a cool place to visit
If you know Ben O'Meara - he has been PUSHING Maine, probably
YESSSSS DO MAINE
wait wait wait... Smoked whitefish larb?! Amazing!
Thank you red wing boots cheers 🍻 from Cleveland as a union longshoreman the best boots I've ever owned
You showed what connects people in the south to people in the North.. Culture, family tradition.
The South is misunderstood
This series is so rad. Keep up the great work and keep em coming!
amazing stories!
These docs are exceptionally produced. Bravo.
I love this series. I totally do but what would make it better is longer format. We need more of these producers of incredible food. You could do an episode for each. Producers is producers (executive) and I get it but you've got the content and I've viewed places I'll never know ever. Longer vids on individual producers yeh. Get me?
Absolutely beautiful. Hi from Thailand.
Another great episode of Dirt my friends! Keep telling these amazing stories
The Atlanta episode brought me here. Now I'm hooked.
We got a few more episodes for you to binge! Stay Tuned. Might be dropping a new DIRT episode next month.
i wear my redwings every day. Hi from Munich, Germany.
Best I have found on RUclips
Native where ever they are are so beautiful, the indigenous people around the world should be treated as priority and special. Period.
Perfect 🩷
Please continue making these! The videography, narration and overall story telling is superb! We want more DIRT!
glad you're enjoying it, more to come!
you captured Anthony Bourdains style in this. I really enjoy it. Do more guys
Thanks! Already on it!
This is such a beautiful, honest and real series.
