You just saved me a visit to the dealership. I had a bad leak in a few lines (645Ci) and they replaced them and did a fresh refill but failed to do the reset. I called and explained to them and they said I need to make a friggin appointment? Insane... so a big THANK YOU sir!
Strange that they won't let to do that from the computer's main Service settings, where the alert is popping up as, for example, they do that for tire pressure warning. But this indeed is extremely helpful! Thank you, Mark!
Mark , You get in car , Put key fob in with no foot on brake then press start twice then press the small button near dial then hold it and the yellow triangle shows and keep holding then pic of car on a stand the it goes to 01.00 with FGSTNR VP41566 . Where is the bit where the brake fluid can be reset ? Toggle on the stalk doesn’t do anything when the FGSTNR shows and pressing the button near dial changes display to K-ZHAL W/T 49974/48756 Then pressing again goes to BMWTNR 000009187330 Then pressing it again goes to COD DIA 0008h 08Doh Then pressing again goes to KI HTLDATUM 19.07.2010 Then HW AEI 0026h 0001h then gies to SW A3.45.82 then goes to LODIERDATEN FF.FF.FF.FF then goes to CAN. 00. 23 107. Then back around to the start. So FFS what do you reckon ?
@@wellwisher4383 As Mark said , maybe the button was pressed too long and it went to another menu. Just try again. It seemed to work eventually but looked a lot easier in his video.

I’d disagree, break fluid doesn’t really need changed. As. Long as the levels are ok you will be fine. It’s just another way for dealerships to get money out of you.
That is most likely going to mean 1/ The service interval is up and you need to replace the brake fluid. or 2/ The fluid is low and needs to be topped up.

That is something different. Brake fluid being due to change won’t give you a check engine light. You need to get the car scanned to see what that is MRT
Hi I just saw your engine light on, I have the same thing now on my e60 520d 08 and my mechanic reset it and it’s coming back he said nothing wrong with the engine but it’s not going. I held that button till my finger was bleeding and nothing happened. It never said reset.
Don’t know if you still need this but reset oil change service first
On mine I had to hold down the BC button to reset it

Looks like You held the button on too long. That is another deeper menu. not the one you are after

Yes brake fluid does need to be changed. When the light comes on you change the fluid. It isn’t about the level. MRT
