Thank you for your kind domment Amin, I'm happy that you enjoyed! You might also like this one, it's about the 335's from the early 1960's... and more 🙂 ruclips.net/video/SZ4zx9NT0hE/видео.html
That 1962 is, in fact, a tone monster. You looked happier playing it. Great sound setup, it came through excellent. And exquisite playing, as always. Great, great video.
Thank you so much for sharing your impressions Jo! ...and for your kind comment. "You looked happier playing it" Ha! Ha! I guess I could not be a good poker player : )) In fact that guitar is absolutely great and perfectly suited my playing style.
bellissima puntata!! I like that you state you cannot always point at something as 'the best'. it is so true, and not only for guitars. I love the grit of the block ES-335 though.... : )
"and not only for guitars" Absolutely Livia!! I was listening yesterday a song by Chuck E. Weiss with a toy piano, and its tone was just perfect for that song! ...and thank you for the feedback : )
Grazie Bob, meravigliosi video i tuoi. Continua cosi....!!!!

Thank you for your comment Giulio! I think it's a matter of different "schools of thought", so to say. Of course I much respect your point of view. Nevertheless I'm used to test a guitar integrated in a complete setup, with sounds that are more "useable" in a live gig environment or recording. Of course it's important to use transparent and non-invasive effects. Also, in the video, the effects are not massive, they are carefully modulated with different degrees of overdrive. If you feel like doing so, just check out the sound of the guitar in this episode: ruclips.net/video/Rtb2wcZkqjw/видео.html You will listen how different the character of the guitar behaves... with the same setup exactly.
Hello Alan, I confirm that the main subject of the video is the Gibson ES-335, as indicated in the title and mentioned in the spoken introduction. Cand can you please clarify better the problem? Is there a reference time code that you can pinpoint in particular?
You got many of the years wrong, buddy. The neck binding was introduced as early as late 1958, not 1960, the sunburst finished continued into at least 1961, etc.
Bluesman Jr, I'm afraid you got something wrong. The Red finish in 1960 replaced the rare natural finish of the early production, not the sunburst which was never really discontinued. Also I never mentioned that the neck binding was introduced in 1960 because I know very well vintage 335's. I'm not sure what you might have misunderstood here, please indicate the time code of the phrase you are referring to. If you are interested to deepen the 335 topic, you might also like the videos linked in the pinned comment and this video: ruclips.net/video/SZ4zx9NT0hE/видео.html

Nice Guitars, I would love to hear them clean without pedals.
