  • Howzit today I will be comparing two different OEM rubber straps from tudor and omega and I will have a surprise competitor at the end to see if a 3rd party can compete.

    Great review, are you able to remove the tudor rubber strap from the end link? Im curious to see if you can attach the strap to the Tudor Chrono 22mm endlinks.
    If not can you remove the strap from the t-fit clasp and attach a 3rd party strap to the clasp?

      Thanks for watching I do believe it is possible to attach it to another end link. The rubber measures at 8.6mm so if the end link on the chrono is that wide I believe it will fit. Sorry I don't have the chrono bracelet to test it. Good luck!

    While, I did enjoy the comparison. The video and handwork was horrible. You need to invest in a better camera and less movement with the watch, making me very dizzy.

    Omega is vastly and objectively superior to Tudor. Fit and finish, the movements, GADA, Omega is just a cut above. I like Tudor, it punches above it's weight...but come on...without the constant reference to it's relationship with the Crown they wouldn't even be in the same conversation.

      I really do like Tudor but I do wonder how I would feel about them without the Rolex connection. Maybe like longines or brietling?

    • @Anonymouslyme1
      @Anonymouslyme1 10 месяцев назад +2

      Not vastly superior they are one price bracket above Tudor and the quality is one step up. I love both brands but Tudor delivers an exceptional watch for the money, you can’t go wrong. Omega have hiked their prices up aggressively lately. Your last comment doesn’t make any sense because without their relationship to the crown, Tudor would be unable to sell such fantastic products at the price they do. Tudor have the full corporate might, expertise and technology of Rolex behind them which is the only reason they are able to make these very high performing products at such competitive prices. Tudor are Rolex at a lower price point, it’s not then same company but it is the same company really.

      I mean if we talk pure quality omega is superior yes. But if we talk design.. in my opinion omega is hideous. If omega would only design beautiful classic watched i would buy an omega in a heartbeat. Unfortunally their watches are way to big and the co2 escape valve makes it asymmetrical.

      @@HawaiianHorologyme too. Tudor bezels are a thing of quality. I don’t really accept that say, a ceramic bezel is higher spec because you can get $300 watches with ceramic bezels these days, so I see the material as an either or, but aluminium will age & fade wonderfully whereas that that peppercorn grinding shiny omega bezel won’t: it’ll look as shiny & plasticky in 30 years as it does today.

    Your intro and vibe always makes my day! Thank You.
    My opinion on these two are:
    Tudor: The dated faux petina and aluminium bezel do not in any way match the modern rubber, fitted to end link and deployant strap (let alone sapphire crystal).
    Omega: I think I am correct in saying the deployant version of that strap is a cost option (ie if you buy it on rubber it will be pin buckle).
    The double ridges look cheap to me anyway, and its not the best feeling Rubber.
    The green is by far the nicest looking to IMO.
    Everest: Not deployant friendly, so fear dropping your watch!!
    Vanguard is a big no due to having to use the supplied bent springbars (on Tudors anyway) and not the ones that come with the watch.
    Rubber B are the best, but a little thin.
    One big difference between manufacture rubber and aftermarket is that manufacture comes in S/M/L (Medium as standard on anything in a shop), but aftermarket are only one size.
    Basically, rubber is fantastic when it works, but its a bit of a minefield!!

      I own all three brands. Tudor build quality is almost on par with Rolex, it’s just bulkier & less refined, which is intentional. I don’t think omega is higher quality personally. I think Tudor slightly embarrass them, which they’re intended to do. As I say I own all three brands. I’ve given my seamaster to my wife: she’s not fussed if the bezel feels like a peppercorn grinder.

      @@adriancox2786 i own all three too and actually prefer my tudors! It amazes me the value of a Tudor Black Bay v the value of an Omega Seamaster! A massive diffference in price! Tudor £3400 v Omega £5600 - massive difference yet i think Tudor quality is amazing, maybe not quite the same as Omega but dont know how they justify the price!

    • @adriancox2786
      @adriancox2786 10 месяцев назад

      @@nickbrooker1411we’ve similar thoughts on it I think. I’m convinced today, Tudor are the best bang for the buck available in the price point, and it’s entirely strategic: designed to kick omegas stepladder out from under them. I prefer the design aesthetics of Tudor as well, albeit personal taste. What I can’t get away from is you turn that omega bezel & it just doesn’t feel like a quality product. If you’re omega, why go to those supposed lengths with the movement & then flunk through cheap n’ nasty on the bezel, one of the few things an owner can interact with? It speaks volumes. That Mk III burgundy is a higher spec watch than the SMP 300: it’s calling omega out & highlighting their laziness I think.

      @@adriancox2786 i'm actaully a diver so a special interest in diver's watches and over the decade have owned and sold probably around 20-30 - - i actually sold my seamaster - looks good on the wrist but the non tapering bracelet, wart, skeleton hands (hard to see in low light) and worst of all scalloped bezel (a reason why the planet ocean has coin edge!) - now actually dive with a Pelagos - so so much better - less dressy granted but way more of a diver's tool watch. I also recently brought a brand new Tudor opaline gmt as a travel/daily wearer....i swapped the seamaster out for a constellation - has the 8900 movement too, so for formal/smart occasions and work its my goto...

      I think the build quality is similar but I would give a slight edge to the omega and in the US these watches are about 1000USD apart. The bezel action on the Tudor is way better but I feel like the Omega has a more upscale design whereas the Tudor is more of a pure tool watch. Thanks for watching!

    Owed both. The Omega is massively in a different league compared to Tudor. Omega have been very quiet recently though and this Seamaster desperately needs an overhaul. It’s needs to be thinner and go back to a 41mm and the bracelet needs a complete upgrade while losing a good few grams. The skeleton hands are awful too and become useless in a hour in the dark because the lume is too thin. The bezel action on all Omegas are terrible and Omega really needs to up their game. The Tudor is just a budget retro Rolex and the whole Black Bay lineup is getting very boring. Tudor is having many quality issues too

      Agreed about tudor having QC. My tudor root beer is 1 year old and the alignment is off. It has to reach 12:03am for it to change date. That sucks so bad and my friend told me just live with it, I've had cheaper watches that don't have that QC issue.
