Hey mate, great video, great sounds and thanks for the kind words. A lot of love goes into my pickups and it’s great to see and hear them in cool guitars like this.
Love these pickups!! To my ears they actually retain a ton of the Jazzmaster pickup character, but more powerful and obviously hum free. Pretty amazing
i completely agree, i love how these sound, especially the bridge! i do love the tone of the stock bridge but whenever i kick on my heavy distortions/fuzz’s it’s just painful, i’m glad these game that a bit while still being clear!
I actually like the original pickups better 😉 I debated this for so long about a year ago whether to go with single coils in a JM build or the WRHB. The HB still sounds like a JM but the singles have so much raw emotion. That sounds funny to say about a pickup. I don’t want to use all the same tired words people use to describe guitar tone. I guess it depends on the music you play. I can understand the want for less noise with the HB and you’re still getting the essential JM sound. Great pickups!
I was really expecting these to sound awful which is why I’ve come to hate a lot of WR humbucker JM replacements but honestly these were nice. Still definitely prefer to true single coil JM pickups but these actually sound like JM pickups while just being a tiny smoother & thicker. I think the only position that really suffered was the middle & honestly that’s a deal breaker for me.
Man, I have cunife wide ranges in a jazzmaster and found the middle position ever so slightly lacking that magic, very close. So I put an EQ pedal on my board and went back and forth between 2 guitars, one with these and one with normal jazzmaster pickups and dialed in the EQ so that the wide-ranges were as close as possible, and it's litterally like 98% there now. Def worth it for me personally for the extra power in neck and bridge and no hum
Ran into MLove just weeks ago looking for real full Fender size WRHs (thank you spongy Australian dollar!) Sounds like maybe check your new bridge ground to stink that buzz?
i actually came up with all these little riffs when i made this video! i don’t have it posted anywhere just because i came up with them on the spot but i can put it on soundcloud when i get a chance! other than that my band lowercoaster sounds like that a bit! :-)

Great video, my only suggestion to put the samples against each other one stock one upgrade. Thx for the video.
i completely agree, i wish i had done it that way!
@@lifeinsteadofjesss Keep it up with this great job! 👍

Weird I prefer the stock pickups. Really nice gritty sound.
Howdy,
What is your go to hight for these pickups?
i actually just raised and lowered them until i though they sounded good while playing :-)
those stock pickups are harsh.
yeah very pokey/sharp
