The stunning Pen y Fan horseshoe ridge

A wonderful day out doing the Pen y Fan horseshoe ridge, with glorious sights across Bannau Brecheiniog and the Black Mountains.
The loop started from Nant Cwm Llwch, up and around Llyn Cym Llwch and up to the Corn Du ridge. From there the hike went down the Western ridge, down the Upper Neuadd reservoir, then took the Roman road back towards the main summit. We acsended Cribyn and looked back at the glorious ridgeline of Fan y Big. After admiring the north face of Pen y Fan we climbed to the top and admired the views.
We took the path towards Cwmgwdi and the National Trust car park then looped back to where we started. An amazing day in all and well worth the tired legs.
