Tried it out on an iron wood deck project today, along with welding steel work. I was sceptical. But it work awesomely. Had to figure it out first, now gonna switch from regular clamps to this system.
The two I bought, a 6" clamp and a right angle clamp, somehow both managed to be broken, or else there is some secret to using these that I haven't yet divined. It is literally impossible to close them if the material is more than 3/4" thick. Will return as soon as possible and get something that at least works.

I bought a couple of the 6" for myself this past Christmas. After my 2nd time using the kreg 6 in clamp the thumbscrew fell of on one of them and I haven't been able to put it back on. I'm very disappointed, at 39 bucks I would expect a quality product. They do feel solid but that is where the buck stops. Is there warranty? I hope so. I need that clamp to work. I don't have spare money laying around to buy another clamp. Please advise 🙏
Mine never worked right, i had to adjust every-time i changed from the jig to stock alignment, in fact I didn’t realize it was an auto clamp its was so bad , I figured I paid more for the inconvenient adjustment knob placement ..just this weekend I had to use a c-clamp to align my face frames because it failed all together
I have the 3 inch and 6 inch automaxx clamps. They have been nothing but trouble. They freeze up when I try to clamp anything. I've tried oiling them, and adjusting the tension screws over and over but keep getting the same sticking issue. It seems to be the black auto-adjust mechanism itself jamming in it's pocket Sometimes the clamps work fine. But it's a 50-50 chance they are going to jam up. I'm so frustrated spending time to get the clamps working when that time should be spent meeting deadlines and getting product out the door.

Thank you. I did. They walked me through the reset process, but the clamps still jammed. They are sending two new clamps. Thanks for the quick response.

My automaxx is not clamping tightly even after adjusting all the way to the tightest setting. My kreg jig wont even stay secure on a 2x4, I'm not sure if mine is defective or if this is how the tool is intended but I am not satisfied.

well built tool with garbage technology. required constant screw adjustment, then stopped working. on both of the ones i bought. simple use for 2 days - clamping 3/4 scrap to a workbench and fastening them together.
Love Kreg products, giving every novice woodworker a chance 👍🏻

I found I had to loosen the screw a bit and then the clamp worked fine. Great timesaver.

The clamps will stop working after the adjustment screw falls out. That is, it will be stuck on one thickness.
